Ok you will think I'm mad but..........
imprezapete replied to imprezapete's topic in Scottish Scoobies
What I was think was.... I would buy the parts second hand or off crashed cars that way I can get the panels/parts cheap. I know a sprayer thats good as I have had a previous job done buy him before. 2 bumper resprays came to £240 and his work is good. Is there any internal parts I would need to replace to attach the panels and bumper to? I think the lights and the bonnet will be the most expensive. But as I said this a long term project, what mean by that is that I will get the parts when and if they come up. -

<< Totally agree Derek, It's the same down Musselburgh High Street, here them flying down the street till all hours in the morning.... As usual nothing will happen until somebody gets hurt.. Frank >> Know what you mean, I see loads at night if I'm getting Optimax at the shell station before heading home Stoneybank. Saw a few doing a stupid trick where they bypass the lights by coming into the station and out the exit. -

Well put it this way, I was told that my car was worth £8k in a trade in. I've now lost £4.5 since January. Getting a Blobeye car is not a option by the looks of it. -
How hard do you think it would be to convert a 02 Bugeye front end to a 03- Blobeye front end...... I have seen it done but I have no idea of what would be involved on converting the front end to the newer shape. I will have the car for the next 4 and a bit years so I was considering this as a 2-3 year planned mod. At a guess I would need new side wing panels, bonnet, bumper, light clusters, spot lights and grill. Anyone else know what I would need and how much it would cost for a mod like this...... Also how would the insurance take such a mod?

Scotland doesn't have enough members to justify regions of scotland forums. Englands far more packed with members. Thats why they have regional forums. Plus I think it would be a bad idea as it would split what limited activity we have on the Scotland forum.

<< Is there a significant increase in induction temperature with using the hks system? And if so is it a big problem? Thanks for the help so far guys it's appreciated. Dave >> If I remember correct if its the short induction kit it leaves the mushroom filter inside the engine bay with the standard air feed. But you have to understand that it only keeps the induction temperature down when your flowing air into the filter and the engine bay (aka driving). The normal induction box heat sheilds a normal filter from the engine bay air, so no box equals bay and air feeding into the filter. Sit still or drive slow and the temperature in the engine bay goes way up. So it takes the air from the engine bay which causes the induction temperature to rise causing less performance. As most knows cold air is denser than warm air. A inner wing induction kit the way to go unless you box the filter in the engine bay, K&N and APS are 2 companies that make these kits. APS are rated very well and there kit is about £170+pnp Hope this helps

Well I dont know about the back box on its own, but I have had a full turbo back decat with a 3" Blitz Nur Spec R on and it was MEGA loud. It was major tasty in noise and power increase. But a full days driving and it does you head in. Low speed driving can be a pain as it really noises up people when just giving it a bit gas. Its a great exhaust full stop, just noisey. talking 150 DB+ for a full decat version.

I have to agree with Grant and Imy, the time that 4-6 route take to plan is to much. Also you run the risk of people being too broken up or getting lost. To top that off you just dont get the group run feeling from running around in small groups. I think better planning or routes and monitoring of incidents or issues can help deflate any issues with runs. I do agree on the drivers 'Etiquette' idea, its nice to be nice at the end of the day.
