Hi all. I would like to propose this being one of our drive outs for March. It is an open day. You can book in here https://www.facebook.com/events/153587411463074/ or let me know what you think here!! They have asked if we need anything sorting for the day. I think a timeline of cars would be good.
A good exhaust system and remap will do it for you, but you probs will not get 300 on the standard td04 turbo, maybe 280 but loads of torque, i got 340 lb/ft from mine before i modded it up.
Of course you can join in mate, this is no longer an Impreza club but a Subaru club, and the Forrester was originally based on the Impreza running gear anyway wasn't it?
Sometimes they did not have things like burst proof locks on the doors. You would need to check the E-numbers on the essential bits of the car to ensure they conform. However the VIN plate will also give you a clue as it may have been bought by a serviceman originally so would be full uk spec. I bought a couple of "UK" spec cars when I lived there and imported one back to the UK on my return only to find that it had major differences to the real UK spec cars. It was a Mazda 626 in 1993 but I expect things have changed a bit since then. There used to be some dodgy dealers in Limassol and Larnaca thatfiddled with local spec cars to make them look uk spec by changing headlights and windscreen glasses but underlying the cars were middle east spec and caught out a few people when they brought them back to the UK.
Glad yours is a good un though!!
Our good friend Keith has been called forward early for a tour of Afghanistan. He travels tomorrow. I hope you will all want to wish him well and a speedy return.
See you in 7 months mate!!
No real problems with my Hawkeye - the uprated turbo failed after almost 3k miles but that has been replaced and done a further 2k without issue so far. No other problems at all. Had it since 2006.
I believe the deepness of the Burble comes from the size of the back box. You do need to remove the resonator box from the centre section too. Best bet is to find someone who has the sound you want and buy the same kit as them.
