  1. Is this the address for the Red Lion: 33 High Street, Grantchester, Cambridge CB3 9NF‎ Only just saw that there was a meet today so not sure if i'll be able to attend
  2. Quenbys in Baldock are Scooby specilists and have been since about 1989 so they know quite alot but it depends how far you are away from Baldock lol
  3. stunning car by the way wish i could have afforded the STI model
  4. If you want the paint work to shine go and get the Meguiars Car Detailing kit, its about £25 and all you do is spray the car with the cleaning fluid and rub the clay over the body work. It gets all the swirl marks and engrained dirt out the paint and once you done that you'll find the paint will be really smooth. Give it a once over with some Mequiars Liquid Wax and it will look dogs danglys. I did it on my WRX and the car sparkled in the sun was well chuffed
  5. Try Chris Semmens Insurance Brokers they pretty good on insurance
  6. Cheers guys glad you like it To get that shine i spent 5 hours going round the whole car using the Meguiars Detailing Clay which gets all the dirt out of the paint, then the Meguiars Scatch-X and finally the Meguiars Liquid Wax but the hard work was worth it as the car looked awesome. I might get the boot and bonnet resprayed at some point especially the boot as i think it had the STI spoiler on at some point as the scratch marks look the same shape as the spoiler mounts.
  7. well that didn't work, how do i put pictures up on this forum
  8. Finally got round to taking photo's of the scooby after spending a few hours washing and polishing my scooby hope you like it
  9. Hi guys Just a little bit of help needed. I need to get the transmission oil changed to see if i can remedy a slightly noisey from diff. I've been looking around OPIE Oils as i know people on here rate them, could someone let me know if the following is suitable for my Hawkeye WRX http://www.opieoils.co.uk/p-897-motul-moty...nosynthese.aspx Cheers
  10. Nice looking motor there dude. Well just got back from Quenbys and the whining noise i have is defo the front diff so i now need to source some OPIE lubes and get the transmission oil changed to see if that helps. The weird noise from the rear they couldn't quite tell what it was so will have to let them take the rear brakes off later in the year for more investigation. Got to be said the guys at Quenbys are really good and very helpful. I'm unaware of anymore herts owners but if we can find some that would be good.
  11. I need to sort out my SIDC membership then i can put some pics of my hawkeye up after i've cleaned it as well. Any days that you can't do?
  12. Thats a tight squeeze, i'm only 5 ft 11 and i still have the seat all the way back in my Hawkeye, god forbid anyone who tries to sit behind me they have bugger all room lol.
  13. Wouldn't call it a knocking noise although i had heard about that symptom and i didn't really want to get it as i don't really want. Apparently it happens alot on the STI models. Yeah they been doing scoobys for ages since about the late 80's but they have stopped trading in them, they get the odd one second hand but they mainly do the servicing which is good for me as they got a good reputation. Don't know Paul Colton i'm afraid. I've got to get the cambelt down on mine when it hits 50k which will cost me about £250 so looking forward to that one. I'll have to keep an eye out for you then Mr Windscreen. If i'm free next week and the weather improves we 3 can always meet up at a pub somewhere if you fancy it?
  14. Well mine will be around Baldock as i need to take it into Quenbys to investigate some strange noises from the rear end suspension area. So if you see a black WRX hawk it might well be me
  15. Welcome dude You'll find lots of help on this site. Like the STI, i just bought an Hawkeye WRX did want an STI but couldn't really afford it maybe one day i'll get one Think you should convinve your dad to get rid of the beemer and buy a decent car like an STI to lol
  16. So what model of scooby do you drive
  17. Sounds like a good idea just got to check with my social events organiser (the wife) to ensure that i'm not meant to be anywhere else that day. Where would we all meet before we start the run
  18. I'm in Letchworth. Haven't seen to many scoobs apart from today where i saw 3 of them all black same as mine
  19. well you can add me to one of your numbers if that helps don't mind coming over to bedford gives me a chance to break the land speed record ot get there lol
  20. If i'm able to might come over from Letchworth
  21. I just got a few technical questions about my 2006 WRX if someone can shed some light: 1: Since i got the car there is a constant whirring noise from the back of the engine/transmission and this only happens when in gear and gets faster the more gas you give, so i can assume its not the turbo. Is it the AWD diff and is this common on scoobs? 2: I've just found that the clutch makes a sort of squeaking noise when i depress it, should it be something i should worry about or does it just need some lube? 3: Somewhere in the rear of the car there is a squeaking noise which appears when going over bumps and uneven surfaces, i spoke to the local scooby garage and they think it might be the anti roll linkage, would that be correct or something else? Cheers
  22. I'm going to sound completly stupid here but whats the deal with the scooby ball
