  1. My 06 WRX is mainly a weekend toy as me and the missus use her honda jazz to go to and from work most weeks unless i'm on the late shift which means i get to take the scoob to and from work
  2. I wanted an Evo but i'm really quite happy with the Scooby its a bit better in the corners. The FQ360 will drain you of more fuel than your current car (depends if thats an issue or not). £8200 i don't think is to bad from a dealer considering the cars age even though they will add a bit more to it when they sell it so you could try and haggle with them a bit. You tried private selling on pistonheads website at all? For the price of an Evo 9 you could also consider a R34 Skyline GT-R still 4wd and with a lovely 2.5 twin turbo you'll be grinning like an looney
  3. i've got 18's and i'm running 36f/35r and it seems to be ok, seems to handle well and when going fast it pretty stable. I think i need to get a complete wheel alignment and balance cause when i got the car the pressures where all over the place and unsure as for how long.
  4. i'm still planning on coming, hope the numbers will improve
  5. If you can its good fun and the run up to Grantchester is quite good if you want a bit of spirited driving
  6. lol ok i'll be on the look out You going to come along to the meet in cambs on Tuesday?
  7. you should be committed to an institition for selling the scooby especially if you replacing it with a fraud fiesta lol
  8. The suspension will probably be playing a part on the ride as well but try this link for tyres as they have some good prices on brand named rubber. Going to 17" should help with the ride quality and you can find plenty of places which sell them, wrap them in as much rubber as you can (depending on size of alloy and space under the arches). I haven't driven a legacy so not sure if the suspension setup is pretty similar to the impreza or not. http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php Hope this is of some help
  9. Shame to hear about the car playing up. I found this link a while ago and thought it might be of some use: http://www.japperformanceparts.co.uk/ The company have loads of parts which have come off wrecked cars but they are all tested and certified and if your lucky you can pick up a real bargin Hope you get the car back on the road soon.
  10. I've just bolted on a HKS SSQV dump valve on my hawkeye WRX and i haven't had any problems with fueling and you get a nice loud whoosh noise when you let go of the gas. If you did want to have a re-circ valve the SSQV does have the ability to turn into one if you buy an additional part for it. The below video show's you what you get: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HblCEQXQ8Q4...feature=related
  11. i'm loving the car it looks awesome dude

  13. I'm in letchworth to mate, you'll have to post some pics so i can keep an eye out for ya
  14. hopefully we can have one before the 17th Sept as i'll be on holiday from that point onwards for 2 weeks and i don't want to miss the meet
  15. Yeah i'm in, enjoyed the last one
  16. Welcome dude hope to see you at a meet soon Mark CSC is the next Cambs meet on the 31st then?
  17. The pub i was referring to was The Rising Sun in Halls Green, i know the guy who runs it and he might be happy for us to fill up the car park a bit I got to ring Quenbys soon so could find out about parking in front if they wanted a photo shoot but i don't think they have much of a tie in with Subaru anymore going from the conversation i had with someone down there. Baldock by-pass i will agree is a good spot to spank your car down.
  18. I know a nice pub just outside of Weston in Herts its a nice quiet country pub great for a meet and then if you want to go for a drive there lots of nice windy country roads to go on which can take you some interesting places. Baldock is another option as now they have re-vamped the main street there's lots of packing and a good place to park up, show off your car and grab a drink before taking a drive out towards buntingford etc. Not sure about places in Bedford as i don't go around there apart from the athletics stadium. I'm currently trying to get one of my work colleagues to come along as he has just bought a 06 STI Spec-D so hopefully another recruit
  19. I have a 06 Hawkeye and i got it when i was 29 and thanks to my mate at Chris Semmens Insurance Brokers i got my insurance for £745 which i didn't think was to bad considering the type of car it is. This probably has already been mentioned but the cars do come with a Subaru Thatcham class 1 alarm system which usually keeps the insurance vultures happy. In regards to a tracker system i found that the cost of installing the tracker and then the annual subscription will not save you that much on your premium maybe about £40. I haven't really had any problems with my hawkeye and it doesn't make much noise when driving around the only noise you'll get is if you go over about 50mph when you'll start to hear the whine of the diff a bit more. I'm very happy i bought the scooby as its so much to drive.
  20. We could meet up at the Beefeater opposite the BIA Stadium as that has a large car park and then drive to somewhere which does good food. I don't know to many places in Bedfordshire. I've been to 1 meet so far this year and it would be good to come along to another. If i come up with anymore bad idea's i'll let you know
  21. I've just installed a Simota High Flow panel filter from Scoobyworld (£29.99) and i don't notice any increase in BHP but the power delivery is alot smoother
  22. Welcome dude You'll have to get some pics up of the new motor I've only owned my first scoob for about 2 months and i agree with LGG you will drive with a silly grin on your face i do all the time. I didnt' get many waves when i went past scoobs in my area but i do now.
  23. Are there any Herts Scooby owners interested in meeting up at a pub sometime next week?
  24. Was a good evening, i enjoyed my first scooby meet and was nice to meet up with you guys and your cars, looking forward to doing again. Mark
