  7. was sure i had more pics of the hairpins and twisty roads up the side of the hills , these roads are basicly always deserted and like i said no speed cops or cameras in sight and the roads are amazing all over the island ,never even saw one pot hole . its like thier all brand new just waiting on someone to thrash them , only cops i seen in the enitre week was a cpl walking around in the capital city centre and the odd transit police van, and thats where all the trafic is not that im saying thats a good thing as youd never think about driving over the speed limit , once you leave funchal its just the odd coach , and just full of tunnels all over the island , seriouly group event to maderia, ship the cars there a month in advance and catch a plane the day before they arrive haha
  8. hey alastair hows it going, not seen you about for a while, just thot id see how you were gettin on mate

  9. Went into costco today and they said theyve reduced the range of batterys and no longer do subaru. He did say however people would go over to halfords get the code and come back to get the equivalent. Halfords dnt stock any equivelent bosch batterys and only do their own brand so i couldnt even get a code to go back to costco with. And they wanted £90 for thei own make one ouch!!!!
  10. Nice one will try costco up by me. Got.a membership there
  11. cheers mate , did you just have to tell them it was for an impreza or just the type of battery needed?
  12. got a couple pics of the roads while on the tour bus, showing how twisty and bendy they are , and how high up the side of the mountain some of them are.also a random vid and and pic i liked heres a short vid of round the side of a mountain , obviously have to click on it to veiw it .... and heres the randoms i got , one vid of this french guy who i saw trying to be brave , he deserves it just for being french and wearing budgie smugglers lol KEEP AN EYE ON the bottom left again click on the pic to veiw the vid .... heres what the airport runway is built on and heres a pedestrian crossing sign that i liked too
  13. Cheers cathy was thinking gp autos as their just down the road. Popped in on the way home they said all impreza batterys are the same acording to their book and want £72 for a new one said id see what else i can find. Said that included fittong but unless they plan on coming to my front door then im doing it myself
  14. Hey folks.. Just back from holiday last night and back at work tomorow so thought today i would try sorting everything or as much as possible Before i start back so in regards to the scoob which has sat with a flat battery for a cpl weeks now. Was wondering wheres the best/cheapest place to get a new battery for my 04wrx sti type uk. Either online or garages in edinburgh. I get the bus to work so not too fussed about ordering it online and geting it delivered if theres sites out there that do them cheap. But if anyone knows any garages where i can pick one up then id like to pick it up today. Cheers paul
  15. currently on holiday with the good lady in maderia and must say this island has perfect driving roads , been on a few coach trips now and every single road is great , not only that but the trips up into the mountains and over the bridges are tremendous, if any of you saw that episode of top gear where they were going through all the countrys looking for the perfect driving road , and they found they one with al those tight corners and long bends long straight roads, well this island has all of them as soon as i saw them it reminded me of that episode, some dual carriage ways and normal roads all twisting and winding up the hils and all over the island would love to have a scooby over here and hammer around them , also must say the amount of tunnels brand new with great acoustics that youd just love to press the throttle on and would here that flat four burbble , just passed through one today on a coach trip that was 3600 metres long and heard a small fiat with a loudish exhaust ,sounded good - for a fiat anyway , theres not much in the way of modded cars over here just seems a few folk with small cars and exhaust upgrades ... and theyve yet to open the new tunnel theyve just built at over 4000 metres long. if i had the cash to chuck the car in a container and ship it over here for a cpl weeks itd be well worth it , also bonus is alot of the roads out of town where they are twisty and wld be great for rallying and no speed cops or speed cameras anywehre ,
  16. Mornin campers. Came out to use the car this morning to get i. Turn the ignition and suddenly all alarms bells and whistles going off doors locked and nothing working. I thought great batterys flat. After spendin 5mins locked inside the car doors not openin manualy or with key i get out... Anyway long story short... Get my mates car. Give it a jump start. Fom his leave them connected and ru.ning for 10mins.. Then once disconected i start mine starts no problem. Think thats it and notice turbo timer not on. Go to press it on and it doesnt work... any idea why as the day before everythin worked fine. Left the car didnt leave lights on or that and this mornin battery flat and timer not working at all.. Its a HKS timer im guesin goin by looks size and shape from others ive saw. Any sudjestions as to why this happened? Batterys been flat before but i gave a good charge and took the car on a 150mile drive wi no radio or other electrics on
