nah kenny no done any research , only what ive heard bout people saying their getting 6pots and 5pots, and remember a thread somewhere that people discussed certain types and how they found them , but they were very expensive pads if i remember correctly ,

got the service and mot due this month , and got the audiable screetch warning when braking the other night, it could have been that the brakes were cold maybe , but if not then im wondering if i need the pads or discs replaced ,then whats a decent set i can get on a budget ,obviously id like to get top of the range bad boys , but money is tight and road tax is due also at end of month aswel as a wee holiday to pay for so looking to get sumthing thatl do the job at a decent price. 03 wrx sti type uk with the brembo brakes and 17.5" wheels/alloys atleast sure thats the wheel size, saw someone selling redstuff brake pads for £40 that will fit the brembos but dont know if their any good or not .

Edinburgh and Lothian's Meetings 2011
thebigfelly replied to gus the bus's topic in Scottish Scoobies
im happy having the monthly edinburgh and lothians meet, i do play footy on thiursday 9pm - 10 pm though but did tell them that one night every month i wont be able to play because of the meets, also happy to stick to thursdays or for a weekend meet or any other night except a friday as i usualy do a backshift in work 11:30am -21:30, venue down south queensferry im happy with going to aswel, would also look forward to some runs as theres some no bad roads in the lothians and edinburgh area, other alternatives for venues that i could think of would be either - 1- The Cockatoo which is 30secs of sherrif hall roundabout 2- The Melville inn just at dobies garden world which is about 1min from sherrif hall but can be taken the slip road exit before you get to it , 3- toby carvery just at crammond cant realy think of any other venues and those ones at sherrif hall i thought may be easier for everyone coming from every direction as its all bypass driving, well maybe a bit more out the way for people coming from across the bridge. could maybe get everyone to say roughly what area their coming from and then pick somewhere which is the same rough traveling time and distance for everyone , though drina (luvmyscoob) is probably coming from furthest away , or could do a different venue each month or have a vote on where the next meet would be so each month is closer to a certain members area so everyone gets a turn of not having to drive to far, e.g me and midnight are closer to dalkieth area so have a meet at a venu near sherrif hall one time , then next time have a meet at a venue out drinas way, then following month south queensferry and so on .... just random ideas but thot id throw a cat amongst the pigeons , but i am happy sticking with the thursday at hawes inn south queensferry . -
the back box in question , picked up last night from stu, (sleiper) badbaz might recognise it

dont mind getting down and dirty at all, would love to learn how to do more of my own work on cars than pay a garage to do it, like fitting exhaust/back box , doing the breaks , changing filters , only thing ive realy done is put an induction kit on my old corsa and dare i say it fit some blue neons in the engine bay and inside the footwells (i was 20 at the time ) as for an angle grinder dont have one of them, just have the basic stuff, hammers, screw driver sets , spanners, dont have garage with tools id love to fill it with

its the ninja 2 back box, should be picking it up this evening, and im off all day sunday and monday , so will give it a go tomorow or mon , weather depending , will also see if i can get a before and after vid or pic or something, wish me luck tho, the only other tinkering ive done on motors is fitting an inducion kit to a corsa, and doing the squeeky seat belt fix on the scoob , would using the original gasket be ok rather than buying a new one . or is that just crazy talk

hey, hi , howdy and welcome
-
ive got an emergency puncture repair thing for my motor tha sits in the boot for a just incase scenario , you can get it at shell garages ,asda, halfords, its the foam sealing can, you just screw it onto the air valve , twist the cap on the can and it pumps the air into the tyre and a foam that will plug the hole , just a tempory fix like , but shld save you having to keep pumping up the tyre . just a tempory fix until you can get the wheel off.

should be gettin a back box in the next couple of days , and wonderin how easy they are to fit , tools needed and all that , or a cheap garage that would fit in edinburgh?
-

think may be electrical then , duno which way you went up to cathys , but i tried going up the hill just at hers , put it in 5th gear and all the way up the hill from about 2500rpm right through to about 4900rpm by the time i got to the top of the hill it climbed steadily and no dipping or stopin through the rev range, also tried the clutch kicking , they rose quickly and as soon as my foot was off it dropped straight back to what ever they were at before, so possibley electrical and hopefully a less expensive job than getting new clutch :
-
guesing another expensive fix then.... tho never had any problems with clutches slipping on previous cars so wouldnt know , but i did hear that a sign of your clutch going was the biteing point on the car was higher or that it was harder to get through the gears , dunno if any of that is true, but the biteing point is still the same very low , and no problems going through gears or getting in the gears .

just wana say my membership arrived today thanks , will get the stickers and tax disc holder on asap . now for the help part lol its never ending for me i suppose - noticed something with the rev counter that i havent noticed before, seems like a little bit of lag or something and i shall say sorry in advance for the shoddy camera work. when going through the gears and picking up the pace just after the turbo kicks in the rev needle dips down or stops for a second sometimes before carrying on through the rev range, sometimes itl drop 500 rev sometimes ive saw it drop 1000 revs from 4500 to 3600 ish then going back up , so thot id record it happening if it wld happen when i recorded it , in the video - at 0:15 secs in it stops at 4600 rpm just for a split second, - at 0:44 secs it gets up to 4400rpm drops down to 3600rpm then continues back up again before i start slowing down - at 1:26 it revs up to 4400rpm again it seems to stop for a second before conituing up the rev range p.s engine is warmed up and it stoping for a second has nothing to do with me changing gears i already made sure of that and this seems to happen in 3rd ,4th and 5th gear that ive noticed so far, just wondering if this is normal or if something is on the verge of going, other than this niggle car runs fine , just strange that ive not noticed it before ..
