  1. make sure its a later 2004 model (54 reg), they made a few changes and was actually quicker than the same Ep3 model from before. other than that having owned one from new for 5 years from 2004 check the back of the engine (would need to be done from under the car) and make sure there is no oil running down, can be as simple as incorrectly fitted oil filter or more serious and costly some of the seals going. this is the only problem i know of. other than that they are generally bullet proof in 5 years i didnt have one single problem. service history, and be sure to cane it to they redline to make sure engine is sound, they are high revving and need to be driven high up the rev range to get the best out of the engine. still nothing compared to a scooby though
  2. found this on you tube, what a twat!! how can you put it on backwards, look at it FFS!!!
  3. will be eagerly wiating on the postman on the 28th BF3 is gona be amazing!! it will be better than cod but i think i may still get cod as well just for the spec-ops co-op
  4. is that the fast road discs and the kevlar pads?
  5. warped discs were my origional thought but as its only happend 2-3 times in the past 2 months and im not getting any feedback through the pedals or steering it has me stumped?? the disc look fine, although i know slight warping would be hard to spot. cheers jebus
  6. when braking from high speeds a couple of times in the past 3 months (but not all the time) there has been a strange noise present. its hard to describe but its kind of like duda duda duda duda??? (no laughing at my impressions!!!) i know my pads are getting low and will need changed so could it be anything to do with that?? it doesnt happen if i brake from like 70-30mph more when its 90-50mph (not on a public road of course) also as my pads are gona need done does anyone have any reccomendations over the standard subaru ones, as i have the normal wrx brakes on the gb270? not got enough money for a brake upgrade....YET!!!! cheers for any help jebus
  7. i was once told by a reliable source that the wee yellow blocks you get in toilets/urinals placed on the roof on a rainy nite will not only take the paint off but it ****s the metal underneath ans so any re-spray will bubble within weeks. dunno if its true but he was an ex mechanic body shop worker!!
  8. to me it does look deliberate, what about locking valve caps? only you can get them legitametly off?? failing that buy a baseball bat and sit at the window!!!!
  9. you cant really comment on how loud something is if you have the bung in place?? why dont you take it out and then you might not be dissapointed!!
  10. i will state just now that i am not mechanically gifted knowledge or practical but... could it not just be the fact that the clutch and flywheel are coming together slower than intended when u press it slowly and as they will be moving at different speeds they are slipping and this is causeing the squeeling. where as if you press it normally they are in good contact pretty quickly and so as a result no slipping squeeling? feel free to correct me anyone if im talking mince but its just a thought? cheers jebus
  11. right thats it decided, ive cut the missuses new bed sheets into wings and im away to jump from the quarry in kilsyth. if i dont post again it didnt work!
  12. you do know that it is illegal to tint your front windows(cant remember if its at all or 35%) plod carry light meters to enforce this and they love stopping people for it!!

  14. cheers for the comments guys, glad its going down well was thinking of green calipers, but wasnt really sure as i think the next thing am gona do is upgrade the brakes. done enough to the appearence, so now its the mechanical stuff cheers jebus
  15. well ive fitted the new splitter and got it wrapped the bright green to match the rest of the monster logos. finally got it back from the wrapping place, only took them 2 months!!!
  16. no probs buddy its probably the only bit on the entire forum where im an expert!!! cheers jebus
  17. if you phone sony they have a replacement service for broken ones, its free if your in warranty and £120 out of warranty. its like for like though so if you have a 40gb fat one thats what you get, they are also re-conditioned ones not brand new although most of the components are new or replaced. i have had 2 replacement ones, first one lasted about 2 years then overheated second one still working so far 1 and half years an i keep it in a better ventilated area. they send it out by courier, its fast and all you do is take the new ps3 and give your old one to the courier, only the ps3 not wires or accessories. oh and its a 3 month warranty! shld be at least a year in my opinion!!! cheers jebus
  18. its gona die soon....trade it or £120 for a new one from sony!!! dvds dont test it but games and blu ray require it to use its processing power so it cant hack it!! think of it like your turbo goin, potering about still possible but proper driving not a chance!! jebus
  19. does anyone still play 4 players??? my 40gb one does, its down to the game not the system.
  20. its basically because they are as powerfull as some pc's now but the problem is how big is a pc tower compared to a ps3, pc components have plenty of room to breathe, and well the ps3 is crammed in so not enough airflow. its frustrating i know because im on my 3rd ps3!! cheers jebus
  21. did you go for it then? what size hard drive did you go for? do they give you a 3 year or 1 year guarantee?
  22. i would love it if mines was that low as well £800 for me and 7 years no claims!!
  23. is it not the same as the ps3 fix though where it can last 10 secs or 10 years!
  24. no dont know mate but i would guess about £50-£70 quid
