ok for road but will melt (lose their edges) on track if its dry and your pushing on. If you can take any weight out - do it..... that will help a great deal -

if your are running decent tyres (R rated things like 048s, 888's etc) id consider a baffled sump at least if you plan on doing a few trackdays. An oil cooler (thermostatic) would also be good if you want to do more than a couple of hotlaps at a time (to keep oil temps < 100deg) As above - as much castor as you can, decent susp, brakes and tyres WAY BEFORE power -

its running a Lateral built closed deck 2.1 and AFP 20G.... its only making 350bhp though at 1.6bar on pure V-Power Greddy FMIC, Mocal oil cooler - nice gearing for the track though The car hadnt turned a wheel since TA round at Knockhill so needed a good blast Still has a lot of weight to come out of it too! Full weight doors, with electrics and big heavy cage so prob heavier than a standard TypeR -

Colin McRae Vision Charity Trackday - Pics and Vids
TrackScotland replied to TrackScotland's topic in Scottish Scoobies
123mph and 50secs per lap????????????? Who on earth was doing 50secs a lap? LOL Fiona would have been doing around 58s I think at the low power she was running, the silver GTR's best was a 60. How do the R32 and R35 compare? No idea, if both were standard the 35 would prob lap a fair bit quicker but Fee's is far from standard but was running road tyres. -

We organised a charity trackday (for Colin McRae Vision) at Knockhill. It was a success and raised aprox £550 towards our £6k target..... so thanks to those that helped out and sorry that we had to cancel the planned 4hr event and revert to 2hr only due to lack of numbers (we maybe could have run it in the end but we need the bookings before the last day!!! ) Poor turnout of Imprezas though :/ Doug (lucky ******* but did have a lot of raffle tickets LOL) in the GTR won 2 raffle prizes and David (R400) won the other..... Doug - Free TS trackdays for 2012 David - Laps with BTCC driver Gordon Sheddon Doug - TrackScotland shirt Here is a link to pics & vids thread on TS - http://trackscotland.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3037 Taster vid of R35 GTR vs R35 GTR - 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8.

Arch - Its not TA entry thats 'expensive' for two cars.... its the logistics and running of the two cars thats expensive. We'd be about 1k in fuel alone for 2 cars to Snetterton for example. (towing both cars, running both cars) We do lots of trackdays with both cars - thats no cheaper! No motorsport is cheap - but I was just trying to compare the time you got for the money you spend on entry. -
we'll be there with both cars

Time Attack Round 2 - Scottish Imprezas
TrackScotland replied to TrackScotland's topic in Scottish Scoobies
it may be interesting to calculate value for money based on track time? i.e how many runs on average can you get per hill climb? TA - say entry fee of £339 for one round (CLUB, not PRO) = 20min warmup + 20min practice + 15min qualifying + 15mins final = 70mins £339/70mins = £4.84 a minute (on track) For £80 entry to a Hillclimb you would need to get 16minutes 30sec on track, so say 21 runs up a hill on average if time is 50secs or so. -
Time Attack Round 2 - Scottish Imprezas
TrackScotland replied to TrackScotland's topic in Scottish Scoobies
how many sub 60secs do you get though? I'm willing to try everything and anything - just finding time and funds to do it all is the thing LOL Hope to have the Impreza out in Scottish Saloons this year too.
