  1. Ok so while deciding on which dump valve to go for I had a look at induction kits on eBay. There's a "powered induction kit" which is supposed to act like turbo (Hmmm..) and reduce anti-lag. This does seem quite interesting but the question is does it really work? Generally speaking, the turbo we've got generally kicks in around 3-6k rpm standard, so how would this compliment the turbo if it only kicks in at 3-6k rpm? Presuming atmospheric pressures 0.9 bar and this induction "turbo" is kicking in at 3krpm along with the actual turbo at 3krpm then am I seriously confused here or is the pressure not possibly increased to above 0.9 (say roughly 1.2 bar) before its even hit the intake of the turbo, and then once its been through the turbo would the pressure not be reduced back to the original pressure since it's determined by the exhaust gases. OR would the pressure (being roughly 1.2 bar) not then damage all the sensors and confuse the ECU providing that the max pressure is set already? i.e. over fuelling etc.... It does say that it spins at 25k rpm (max) producing max pressure of 2.5psi... !!! Have a look for yourself! Does seem a healthy option for impreza sports or non-turbo's. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/POWERED-INDUCTION-KI...id=p3286.c0.m14
  2. thanks guys, I'll have a look at these and see what's most affordable and the best option. " Valve vents to atmosphere/ re-circulating pipe work must be removed, Bung not included." ...err Yeah :S ....anyone explain further please? How about the Bailey one that Scoobyworld are selling? Kaylz
  3. ill have a look mate, cheers. It's got to sound like "a specific sound" lol ...but trying to explain that through typing wouldn't work! "FFFFchsshhhhhhh"??? - any use? Although in saying that have you heard the duck sounding bov attatchments?! That might be a better present for his birthday as he drives to work in it - i don't (yes darling I've fitted a great sounding dump valve) cheers anyway bud ill take a peek!
  4. Couldn't help you with the garage part mate but welcome to the family
  5. Hi folks, Looking for any info on which dump valve is the best to suit my budget? For a new age MY03. I've got roughly £130 and I need to buy it before the 3rd of Nov! Cheers! Kaylz_555
  6. Yeah pink looks great on you... Some good pics of the day! Caught all the bits I missed! And I'm holding you to this passenger seat on Sat! One thing you didn't know.... I'm a knockhill on-track virgin Only ever been out on tracks elsewhere and on my own on the motoX bike! - Still don't know if a car beats that thrill yet... ! And Dougie C - Sorry to hear that - that really sucks! I think you're right - they should make it easier for disabled access around the main area of Knockhill! Pity you couldn't have given one of us a shout, I'm sure we would have been more than happy to offer some help up to the stand. Cheers Kaylz P.s I just noticed you can see our boot open...lol
  7. I think you were still one step ahead mate, at least you remembered a camera!! Mind you I did have batteries in the car lol... if only I'd known! I think you made up for it Col666! Some cracking photos there mate!!
  8. From Knockhill today: Only have a couple of pics and yep...they're all mobile phone pictures! And having a shot pauls car Roll on saturday, crash helmets at the ready Good day folks, Liked the Evo's time in comparison with the scoob...so close yet so far! Cheers Kaylz
  9. Hehe! So it's not just me that makes typo's then Chin up mate... We all make mistakes U goin to kirky tmrw (FRANK_STI) ?
  10. Why do people put new headlights on a car or bulbs in when the standard ones are absolutely fine? Because they want to improve the look, Because they want to improve the lighting, Because the standard ones aren't as good as uprated ones!? Because they want to - that's why! Sorry for making a typo. Us woman can't do 2 things at once always you know - i.e. being on a business call and typing a comment about something completely different on this! Jeezo... I'm not claiming to be a prodrive engineer! I know about what I've been taught and of course there are a million and one things that I haven't cars change every year as the industry evolves, I don't study cars. I think this has gone too far! Shall I just drop the car off tonight and let you modify it instead?..... And as for being headstrong (micrawrc) I believe everyone IS entitled to their own opinion. At the end of the day it's only me who makes the choice and I appreciate the advice given. Cheers
  11. The car is initially going in for these parts, this was what we have planned for the moment. I didn't want to give you the full spec of what is planned because I'd rather list it when the time was approaching to have it done. We will need the pump in the future hence the reason we're having it fitted just now. I didn't feel it was necessary to explain why I was having it done. It is also useful to have as it is new and can handle more until the time comes. It wouldn't be recommended if it wasn't useful to have even if the car is under 300bhp. Think about it. Maybe I did lash out a bit and I apologise but I just hate it when as soon as you put something on this website there's a list of criticisms that follow, rather than suggestions. I do appreciate those of you who are only trying to help and I would do the same. I don't really see the point in continually trying to state a point when I've already decided the outcome. My partner is also an Engineer and is more than capable of knowing where to go. I also am knowledgeable about Subaru's and various machinery due to my upbringing, but I didn't think I had to state that before people would listen? Anyway I don't know if this helps you out on your understanding and perhaps might uncross any wires - that have caused this disagreement: Once the list has been carried out there will be new: Sti Injectors Fuel pressure regulator Sti intercooler (not decided on front or top) New uprated turbo Re-map (not mild) - (mild sitting at 355bhp) Will be also doing other engine modifications and boosting the torque in other ways possible but this will be next year. I hope this helps you understand slightly better. Arguement over - what's the point? - Life's too short and at the moment so is the budget!!!! Can we at least agree on that? Thanks also for your input.
  12. LOL!!! To be honest mate, I'm going to someone I know and trust. I put up the pictures to let you all see it and let you into what's happening with it. Don't really like being pestered with silly comments, getting told what to do with it...did you buy it? I'm not a sheep. Baaaah! More likely to be a cow or a female dog ..thank you and I'll take it in my own stride with the bits that are changed. If I want drop links on the back and not the front because it currently suits me then that's up to the boy and I. If I wanted you to "judge" my influence on my car then I would kindly ask - NOT just expect it. Like it or lump it... I'm driving it. Mooooo!!!! Cheers
  13. PM prices mate, Cheers P.S classic will be back in a couple of years aswell just needed something a bit more reliable! Oh..and with a turbo lol
  14. Cheers guys, but I hate to say it Welsho...I know Duncan and think a lot of people would agree to trust his wisdom He's designed it to our specification...how we want it to drive not the way someone else thinks it should be..so there!
  15. Here's some pics of the new car Not been able to get other pics on yet but these are the ones from the showroom before we took it away. Will get some new pics before the end of the week! It's currently got 17's, magnex exhaust and an absolutely mint interior that won't be getting touched until the pods go in (turbo timer etc) It's going into Hypertech shortly to get: Anti-lift kit Rear bar (adjustable) 24mm Rear drop links Fast road Geometry setup (edited) -hehe! Wallbro 255 fuel pump Turbo timer (incl lap timer boost guage etc) For just now list will continue I'm sure! Also a question if anyone can help... I've got a rear spoiler and roof spoiler for a classic and was hoping to put it on - is the fit the same i.e. measurements for the bolts, width etc or is it different? If it comes to it I'll just need to measure it! Trial and error :S If not they'll be up for sale Cheers Kaylz + G
