I posted a thread on this last year when my brother in law delivered to the Essex airstrip for the film crew. Ben collins was there with the White race suit on, but then So was J.K!! apparently there are about 5 or 6 current race and car enthusiasts that voulenteer their time and expertise to be the 'STIG' If you watch the car tests, taken from various episodes, youll notice that the lines and driving styles change a lot. That kinda throws weight to the argument that it is different people. Also there is another guy with dyed blonde spiky hair that also plays stig every now and then but they are the only three i know of that have been seen in the 'STIG' suit.

I have to agree with the Original poster. The man in question obviously does have money, BUT HE CANT DRIVE, therefore needs to SLOW DOWN and progress his skill level till he is able to hammer round the track in a car that is capable of doing faster than his reactions. As a racer myself i have watched the clips and the first two show someone who barrelled into a corner WAY too fast for both the ability of his skills and reactions. Any racer will tell you that you cannot run before you walk, no matter how much money you have. Competent racers will also tell you that sometimes slower is better. It does not make viable sense to any racer to up the risk of crashing to the level this man is going into corners at. It simply puts you and maybe others out of the contention and that basically leaves you at the back of the pack and you NEVER learn sitting on the pit wall or in the ambulance. MY OPINION is that the comments made are fair and not at all being detremental to this person. However it does sound like either YOU are this person and dont take critisism well or you are known to this person and are taking the comments personally. End of the story is, this man cannot drive in the class he is in, and should lower his level to gain experience. I race, and used to regularly, and on motorcycles was racing International level with Factory sponsorship, but that does not mean i am the best , not by a long shot, and i would not enter into something that i wasnt capable of doing. I have to agree, theres so many people on here that have said they are a fantastic car, BUT i just cant get past the fact they have not really styled the car better. I certainly wouldnt turn one down!!

The sad fact is, id rather spend time in jail knowing i had protected my property than been ANOTHER victim. I truly believe that if everyone started to protect themselves, the justice system would not be able to cope with the influx of those decent upstanding citizens who work, pay taxes, and abide by not only the LAW but the Moral obligations of being a member of society. How ****ed up is this country and its judicial system if it protects those who commit crime and serious crime at that, and not those who are defending what is rightfully theirs?? Are you sure its the injectors ticking? They do tick sometimes but if its loud enough to be that invasive, then id say its more likely a Lifter. If an injector gets to be THAT loud thats its irritating, then normaly its FUBAR. meaning the car will run like a dog!!

Teins are brilliant coilovers, but if the cost puts you off, try the B&C Express versions, make sure you go for 50lb springs though as i am running the 65lb Track springs and its a little harsh.

Mine does a similar thing mate. Although i do believe mine is now caused through a lot of changes to the engine bay. When it was first mapped and fitted, the apexi wouldnt hit high Knock and flash the ECU light unless i was on top boost 1.4 bar and hammerinig the hell out of her. Since then i fitted bigger injectors, a front mount, oil cooler, big bore up pipe, alcohol injection, and a few other mods, and strangely, on low boost or high boost it seems fine, not hittimg much more than 13-16 onthe apexi. however if i am in pos.2 (about 1bar) i get hellish knock!!! Not sure why it does it, but the car is going back for a remap when finances allow. My advice would be to let Hypertech look. It may be the mod leaking air, making for a lean mix. Good luck!

They work on most cars as the younguns round here had them on their Corsas and novas! Bear in mind that they are ILLEGAL for use on the road, you MUST fit a switch to turn it off, and if you are caught with it on the road, you really wont be able to claim that the car naturally pops flames because of the turbo and mapping!
