About uno turbo

  1. amazing amount of work, time and effort gone into making a stunning car. ive had my black blobeye for 6 yrs, and havent even done a quarter of what i wanted to do. you should give yourself a big pat on the back. wish i had the know how to do it all myself.. congrats again, stunning car in the best colour...
  2. cheers for the help chaps, more than answers the question. and in plain english too, so i could understand it... will let my mate know. this will help him decide which way to go...
  3. hi folks, whilst looking up info on rebuilding my friends engine, he came across the terms open and closed deck engines. its a term neither of us has heard of, and i was wondering if anybody could help with an explanation... cheers... rich...
  4. PS sorry folks, i forgot to mention, my mate comes from bromley in kent, so if you know of anywhere in the kent area, that would be great...
  5. hi folks seems all i do is come on here for advice and help, but as i always get quality responses, here i go for more help.. a friend of mine owns a lightweight ra classic, and unfortunately last week he was driving along the a20, when his engine let go on him.. there was no fluid loss or steam issues, or plumes of smoke from the exhaust, so it appears all the damage is internal. with the only symptons being a horrible clattering noise... my mate is looking for advice on places or people who can rebuild his engine. he is not looking for extra bhp, just a stronger rebuilt engine.. any help will be greatly appreciated. thanks for taking the time to read this, and thanks again for any help, advice given.. rich...
  6. it does indeed, but will check previous posts to catch up....
  7. APOLOGIES for being so behind the times, its just work has really prohibited me from getting on here in the last few months, so i appear to have missed out on this past topic. but i will go back through the old posts to find out what was said, and what the outcome was...
  8. hi people, i took my 03 plated subaru wrx to kinghams of croydon the other day to have something checked out. whilst i was there the service advisor, COLIN BROWN told me of a new scheme subaru are offering.. this isn't a shameless plug by the way.. its called subaru pro r. some of you may have heard a rumour about it, ohters may not have. but here goes.. certain dealerships around the country are to be assigned as subaru pro - r dealerships, what this means is, these dealerships will be able to offer certain after market mods from some well known leading maufacturers, such as autoglym, pipercross, eibach, samco, superpro, alcon, pioneer, and a few others besides.. they will offer a wide range of products from all these suppliers, along with full fitting services and warranties, all at reasonable prices. so rather than having to search lots of web sites for some of your modding needs, they may well be under your local subaru dealerships on 1 site.. i dont know what dealerships around the country will be given this pro r status, apart from KINGHAMS OF CROYDON, but i will try to find out.. hope some of you find this usfull.. cheers, richard...
  9. blimey, blowing up an engine, thats not good. but a monaro vxr as a replacement. that is a bit of a tool. bet you enjoy that??
  10. looks like i will give the ferrodo pads a try then, dont want pads breaking up on me. doesnt sound too good... what sory of set up did you have for the rear assembly, as i was only going to up rate the discs and pads, and use the standard calipers?? i didnt hear about your wagon, hope it wasnt anything major that made you have to get rid of it?? did you get another scooby in its place???
  11. cheers ian, was looking into the k sport sets more than the other 2 sets. scoobyworld have recently put them on their site, and i remember you putting the photos up of yours when you did them. plus they do look good, and aren't too expensive compared to the others.. is there any particular reason you favoured ferrodo pads over k sports own items, as im only thinking of getting 6 pots, as im only running 260ish bhp, compared to the big bhp your wagon has... did also think there wasn't a lot of activity on here lately as it has been a bit quiet, and dare i say a little clicky, hope that doesn't sound bad?? cheers for the advice ian... rich...
  12. hi all other sidc members, hope all are well?? i have a 2003 wrx, and the brakes are getting a bit tired, so im on the look out to upgrade them, i've looked at tarox, k sport and the usuasl brembos. any advice on which to choose will be gratefully accecpted.. with thanks rich...
  13. all done and dusted folks, got it sorted, now just got to get it through its mot.............
  14. hi folks, it seems the only time i get on here is to ask for help. i have an 03 plated wrx running a fully decatted system, (which allows me some fun with my flamer kit) but gets really annoying when it comes to mot time. so i am looking into buying a new sytem with a sports cat so i dont have to keep changing the whole thing evey year... this is where i hope some of you can help me, as i was wondering which you think will be the best to get?? was thinking of a blitz system. your opinions and advice are greatfully recieved... richard....
