I think like the rest of us while the car is under warranty you'll just have to keep pestering the garage, all they will fit is the crappy KYB struts, the only way to go is get a set of teins fitted but until youv'e got a spare grand just keep throwing it back at them.

Already had 6 new shocks fitted to mine, first time they replaced the rear ones & shortly after replaced all four, cars due a service soon & i'm convinced the front nearside is on it's way ouy again although the car still handles fine. Always felt the 270 was a bit light at the front end but have not had any handling problems.

I'll second that, the day I picked up my old STI one of the first things I wanted to do was slacken them off a bit but they were feckin solid, took a trip back to Grieves & let the mechanic shear all four locking nuts & wreck the tool I said I couldn't have done that better myself. They had to call in snap on & get an external nut extracter to remove them, nae good if the wife gets a puncture

I had a C & C system on my STI & it was the dogs b*****ks but the noise really gets annoying on a motorway run, should try a Hayward & scott center pipe with your back box first it will give you the burble without being too loud, C & C could make you a center pipe before removing the cats or speak to Gus the Bus he can usually get you a good deal Bobby

John It was recommended to put the longer cooler EVO Plugs NGK ILFR7H in the 270 for the 2.5L engine when I had the mod's done they're about £12 a pop
