  4. So here she is, had it a good few weeks now. Had the Rb5 a few years & fancied something a bit newer. What do you think? Joe
  5. If its bad fuel (BP 95 for example) it'll be fine for normal driving then rough during harder driving. Had this in the Rb5. The boost was fluctuating up and down a lot under acceleration. Use up fuel, get some 99 in it and leave the battery disconnected overnight. Should reset ecu parameters. Worked for me and it was like a different car! Do this again after the next re-fuel as there will be remains of bad fuel in the first tank. Joe
  6. Hi mate, Didn't realise you were local! Not sure about the dynamat myself but give 'H' a call. He's the local Dent Devil guy round here and he's the nuts. I use him and as you might know i'm rather picky with my car..... Regards, Joe P.S. i'll pm his number if you want to give him a call
  7. Rick at the lights in Bedford, nice noise btw And Ace for a good chat this afternoon Joe
  8. Hi guys! sorry we missed this one, see you all next time
  9. Hi guys, jsut to let you know the van is fixed. All the problems seemed to be down to low battery voltage even after the new alternator was on, caused havoc. Thanks for all the replies
  10. Hi all, after some help with the van. Went out the other morning to find the battery completely dead. No problem I thought so charged the battery, re-fitted and started it up. It idled unusually high and the batttery & engine light stayed on. Checked with a meter to find the alternator was gone and no charge going to battery. Fine I thought so changed the alternator. Since doing that I have no power steering, ABS, engine & battery lights are all on on the dash and it seems to be badly over fueling / running rough. Also there still seems to be no charge to the battery from the new alternator? It all seems very strange as if the new alternator isn't working either plus the lights & overfueling issues. Did some digging around on Google but not much luck. Anyone had the same problem or any experience of this? Its a 54 plate Astravan 1.7 CDTI (always serviced and maintained properly) Any help much appreciated:) Regards, Joe
  11. No way! come and see us then! Were at number 22
  12. Followed yesterday by a mysterious character in a red classic....... Although the grin I noticed in my mirror brightened up the rush hour traffic
  13. Same here, Standard 243bhp - rolling road came out 254bhp with de-cat. RB5 nearly 10 years old. I think its down to how efficient it is mechanically. i.e. a car thats had a hard life, up hills, constant heavy driving will be more worn generally and can't run as well. Depends on usage rather than age i think I thought about this on holiday in Devon going up the hills, Porlock Hill, in particular. It performed amazingly but I did think it must put tremendous pressure on gearbox, diffs, driveshaft etc. Regards, Joe
  14. Yeah that was me! Didn't recognize you at first, just some woman giving me a smile from a scooby then the penny dropped Type R sounded Joe
  15. If you got a decent 2.8 or late 3.0 for sale pm me mate. Cheers Joe
  16. As I said earlier Rach I'm sure were all glad that you guys are ok and no damage done car or else. I reckon a dog in the garden would do the trick. One of the best deterrents you can get imo. Also a security light out the front of the garage might scare them of before they get started. Lets hope the police can find an immediate cure Joe
  17. Many happy returns (late) Nige haven't seen you in a while, get down to next dunstable meet
  18. Watch out, the missus just spotted the numberplates are different from front to rear
  19. Best i've had from the RB is 26.6 mpg being careful. More like 20mpg average though
  20. Great, looks good. Lee is very honest and down to earth as well as very good at what he does so I expected nothing less. Glad its all sorted. I will give you a full analysis at dunstable meet
