Hi Ross, Glad to hear your making the jump to the Impreza brigade, I have 2 for sale at the moment, 1 of which I think you may be interested in, http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=118255 It's a wee bit more than you were looking to pay, but well worth the cash, I have driven Impreza's for around 8 years and have enjoyed every mile. On the service front it's just had it's 50,000 cam belt service so the next is not due for ages and will only be around £200. If your interested get back in touch. Cheers Gary -
Pastrana's Tribute To Colin Mcrae At X-games 14
rallyfever replied to t3hWIT's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Thanks for the posting, I was already really looking forward to paying my respects to Colin for a 2nd time - but now I just want the McRae Gathering to be here so we can all show the big man how much he is still in our hearts. Maybe he will see his name on the track from his WRC upstairs and have a grin on his face!!! LLets make sure we make him proud and set a new record for him at the same time - 1000 Scoobies roaring!!!! Kinda having problems typing here through the glaze in my eyes, nothing to do with dust - the VT just brings it all back how much the guy changed everyone linked to Subaru's lifes. See you all on the 30th in Lanark. -
Hi Bud, Glasgow is fine bud, I am through there quite a lot anyway. If the whells are standard they will be grand, I have had to put spacers on the car with longer studs to make them fit with the Proflex 3-way suspension. If you can private me your number and I will call you to arrange a time. Cheers Gary

Welsho you are a legend mate, I would only be using them if I got a puncture or if it pee'd it down and I had to change to wets. And obviously if that happened the types that are on them woulnd not matter as I would be fitting new ones. When could I get them bud? Cheers Gary

Hi Grant, Can you help with the below, the car needs to be ready for the Jim Clark and it has develpoped a steering problem, (no jokes please) I think it's the rack itself and would like you guys to have a look at it and complete the work required. I put something on the forum entitled Quick rack for a classic - help required!!! For the new rack and the uj call Grade A on 01663 744114, ask them to throw the newage uj in for free. For the engineering work I went to direct engineering on 01505 333999 but have also used wesy of scotland engineering on 0141 339 6746 and found them to be good too so you could just use whoevers closest. The newage uj has a longer shaft so they cut the column end off my old uj then chamfered the shaft of the shortened new age ones shaft, this was then slotted into a hole bored in the centre of the column uj and welded up. Couple of pics of the modded part http://images.fotopic.net/?iid=y898ca&...1&nostamp=1 http://images.fotopic.net/?iid=y898cb&...1&nostamp=1 And a pic of it fitted to a classic (not mine btw) http://images.fotopic.net/?iid=y8h33g&...1&nostamp=1 If you could get back to me on 07800 697436 or on here to say if you can or cannot sort the car. Cheers Gary Stevenson -

The Car Is Finished - Well Almost! What's Your Thoughts?
rallyfever replied to rallyfever's topic in Scottish Scoobies
They are the same as I have at the mo, probably just put the white 18"s on the road car I think and then put the same as yours on the comp car, I have a few so the reason for the speedlines was to go 18" and change the colour to white to match the car. I am sure the 17" STI gold will be almost as good - fingers crossed!!! Cheers Gary -

I think the wheels will be going on the road car and the other wheels I have will be going on the rally car. I have a few 17" x 7" wheels that I am gonna try and fit this weekend. Bit of a pain - but a bit research before I bought 6 wheels with tyres for £1,600 may have helped a tad!!! Thats what you get for trusting the guys from Speedline to advise you. What are the wheels like bud? Any pictures of them? Gary -

The whole package looks good, pity the wheels don't really fit under the front arches, they rub when on full turn - which is a bit of a bugger. Gonna have to go back to the 17" gold wheels I think. -

Well thank god for the positive comments, kinda thought it would be that way, it was Kev Dunn who done the decals - the guy is a genius!!! He took 11 hours to do the car - he's a bit of a perfectionist as you can see. Gary -

Hi Frank, Cheers for the paint that started off the clean look fella. Ingrid is my daughter, my other expensive hobby!!! The car is up for sale unfortunatley, I will be doing The Clark and then hopefully it will be off to another good home. Can't really believe it as I have had the car for the last 5 years and it is now in better nick than it's been for years. Just spent a fortune at TEG getting the engine, gearbox, proflex and diffs re-built. It will be a cracking car for someone to have a blast in. Looking for around £14,000 for it if anyone is interested. Cheers Gary -
Hi all, After many a late evening in the garage, I think I may have just about finished the rebuild and tart up. The wheels I think are gonna have to be changed as they are just too bloody big (Boo Hoo )and the steering rack needs replacing, but apart from those jobs I think were ready for The Jim Clark on the 24th May. What's your thoughts on the new look??? I have added an old pic and a few new to show the difference.

Hey fella, I have to be honest with you bud and say it's a no from me, I usually like that sort of thing - but not too sure with this design. Bloody frustrating I know, just been getting the rally car done and it's a nightmare thinking of something new!!! Cheers Gary
