  1. I meant the whole 3 days fella - not just day 3!!! It's a rally mecca for the whole weekend, or as advertised "A great weekend" Gary
  2. Point 1, Moving into a new house in April, Point 2, Massive mortgage, Point 3, The other half agreed that if I sold it just now - I could get another later on, hopefully newer and better. (but she doesnt need to know that at this stage!!!) Point 4, It's never time to move on from rallying - just a wee break. Not sure what event Billy is doing, Dale is in the British Championship this year so he is doing the International, I am doing the National A which I am sure Billy will be doing as well, unless he is only going for the Reivers on the Sunday. You will need to come down for the 3 days fella - great crack. I know of 6 guys from Duns driving Impreza's over the wekend and Dale in his Evo - do you think it's in the blood down in them parts???? Gary
  3. Hi Frank, I will post some pics next week of the finished article - hopefully everyone will approve of the subtle changes!!! Dale's car should be back tomorrow or Thursday, the guy who was charged with the job at Mitsubishi had fitted some of the old aux parts to the new engine and only by chance noticed that one of the sensors was fekked, pretty lucky as it could have been another Evo engine causing blue smoke to come from the tail end. By the weekend we will have the Impreza and the Evo back to their fighting best, we got an 05 Merc van as well last week and that's getting decalled up exactly the same as the cars - better drive well or we may look like a pair of paps. (all the gear - no idea sort of thing) The only thing I don't like about the decals on the back of the car is the bit that says "For Sale" The baby will be getting sold after the Clark, looking for £13,000 for the toy - a bargain and a half for anyone wanting to get a good car with all the right bits. Proflex 3-way, dog box (just re-built), atl bag tank, safety devices cage, full engine re-build by TEG a couple of months ago, all diffs checked, blah blah blah the list goes on and on - why am I seeling it???? Gary
  4. Hi Frank, Just got the news from Kev Dunn that the decals are now finished and it looks the dogs - lets just hope it goes much the same at the Jim Clark in Mayrear wheels fitted this weekend and it will be finished at long last. Cheers Gary
  5. Very nice Frank, it's certainly a looker, what the stats on the bad boy? Is it the usual standard 280bhp that leaves Japan - or has it been modded already? I have just about got mine finished now, the re-spray has been done, the graphics get finished tomorrow and the newly fettled suspension is going on next week and the 18's can be fitted to the rear after that. Think I may need a steering rack mind you as it's clunking a bit, got a price from Grade A of around £300 including VAT and delivery, it's a newer type but seemingly fits quite easily with a slight mod to the pipe that connects to the power steering pump. You any idea when the new motor arrives? Cheers Gary
  6. Well done fella, no feeling like it having a little one to look after - a wee bit of a different perspective on life now bud. Lots of baby SWRT stuff on the web to get them kitted out for her first run too!!!! Enjoy her loads buddy. Never forget how good you feel with her. Gary (Rallyfever)
  7. Hi All, Needing to find a new quick steering rack for the rally car, have searched humnners oh places on the net and found naff all . Anyone wanna point me in the right direction before I chuck the old laptop oot the windae!!! The car is a 94 classic and is right hand drive. Cheers in advance. Gary
  8. Hi Paul, I had my rally wheels on the my Newage for a wee bit and have to admit I was gutted when they had to return to the old classic, I really liked the white 18's with the WR Blue car. They were a bit more expensive than the £600 Gus was on about - but you get what you pay for I suppose. The wheels Gus was talking about don't need to take the punishment the Speedline Turini's do so will probably be ideal. Her is another pic bud so you can see how good they look. Have fun. Gary
  9. Alwayd had decent service, just got a part from them and had no trouble at all. It was a pretty hard part to find but they had it in Penicuik within 2 days - can't really argue with that in my opinion. Cheers Gary
  10. Hi John, Would need to see the finished mock up before I passed comment, but looks good so far - and certainly stands out. How did you take the old decals off? Did you use a hairdryer, or follow my advice with the DeWalt Heat Gun? Cheers Gary
  11. Cheers guys, gonna have to try something I think, they look the dogs and I really don't wanna sell them. Gary
  12. Hi Guys, My heed is aboot bust, I am trying to get my new speedline corse 18x8's to fit on the rally car, it has proflex 3-way suspension on it and the inside of the wheel is rubbing on the strut. I already have a spacer on it and don't fancy adding another on. Anyone got any idea's on how to fir these bloody things. Paid about £1,850 for the wheels and tyres (6 of them) and don't wanna waste them. Be my saviour and come up with a plan stan!!! Cheers Gary
  13. Hi Guys, It was not the guy who is spraying it as it was like that before I dropped it off at his garage. The steering wheels judders when you turn the wheel when the car is on idle. it seems to be slightly better when it's being driven, but still judders a wee bit. As you can see it's a bit or a mystey, not the brakes, not the wheels, maybe the power steering pump is on the way out??? I just got a quote from a breakers of £50 for a 2nd hand one - anyone know of anyone who has one for sale? PS, Picking the rally car up today after it's respray from WRC blue back to gleaming white - can't wait to see what it looks like. Getting put back together over the next couple of weeks so I will post some pics on the site when its complete. Cheers Gary
  14. It does it when it's not moving, so won't be the wheels needing balanced. Cheers anyway
  15. Hi all, Just got the rally car fettled at TEG a few months ago, everything was 100% fine, but now after taking it to get resprayed it has developed a judder in the steering wheel, not sure if it could be the power steering pump or something else, the levels for the fluid are fine. Any ideas anyone. It's a 94 classic with standard steering. Cheers Gary
  16. Welcome to the greatest club in the world bud. I agree with all the above, if that's your first step on the Scooby ladder - you made a massive 1st step. Great car and great spec. Cheers Gary (Rallyfever)
  17. I must admit to being very very impressed - makes me want to go out and get all decalled up WRC style!!!! Great stuff bud
  18. Hi all, The reason I went for the Dewalt heat gun is that it has an adjustable temp on it so you can increase or decrease as you feel best suits the matertial the decal is made from, personally I had no problems at all and with a bit of patience and a couple of hours I had the car bare with no damage to the paintwork. But if yer no as brave I suppose it's back to the old hairdryer and sore fingers!!!! Good luck Welsho with whatever you decide to do, keep me up to date with any progress on the new decal front. Cheers Gary
  19. Hi Welsho, I just took all the decals off mine yesterday, I bought a Dewalt heat gun for £28 and it only took around 2 hours to take off the whole lot, best £28 I have spent for a wee while. Let me know if you get any pics through as I will be geting mine done within the next couple of weeks, I have a design already in mind that my brothers Evo6 is decalled out in (it's just a tad boring as it's advertising the business) Mind you I have a week repair job to do first as when I removed the sill protector yesterday the sill fell to bits - clearly the protector did not do that good a job!!! Cheers Gary
  20. Hi Guys, I am off this week, tried to take it off yesterday and gave up after the 10th slice in my hands, just leaving for Duns where I can get the use of a lift, much easier when the cars in the air and you can see what your doing! I think we should all get on to our councils and tell them that the bumps in the road are a good idea in certain areas - but they don't need to be the size of fekkin mountains. From what I see they must cost thousands of pounds for us car nuts - Lets sue the gets!!! Gary
  21. Hi Welsho, I am just about to get the rally car re-sprayed and decalled up myelf, my car is going from WRC blue to white for a change and am also looking for some ideas on what to do to for something a little fresher, have you have any luck with pics or idea's yet??? Cheers Gary
  22. I have tried to take it off this morning and its split in one bit and totalled in another , where did you get your STI version? Cheers Gary
  23. Hi Guys, Just banged the front splitter on the car this morning and bust it, anyone got any ideas of whats the best replacement one to get??? Cheers Gary
  24. Hi All, Just got Frank C to order my new paint for the Impreza Rally Car, the only problem now is that I will now need new graphics for the trusty old stead. With this I would like some ideas posted here to help me make up my mind of what to get on the car. The car is going to be in a nice clean white base, so it's the perfect canvas to start with. If you could post some pics of cars you have seen it would be much appreciated. Cheers Gary
  25. In the imortal words of our hero "You're here for a good time - not a long time" Try forgeting about the past as quick as possible bud and get on with your life, I had about the same innings as you with marriage - it will turn out fine. Gary
