  1. Great. I'll try to stop in when I'm in Glasgow next summer.
  2. Is this the restaurant, about 3 kilometers south of the Glasgow International Airport?
  3. I'm not familiar with Peugeots, but sounds like you probably either have a stuck brake caliper or a damaged brake hose from the metal line to the caliper. Either of those are fairly common. The brake hose could be damaged on the inside from being pinched, and may have created a flap allowing fluid into the caliper, but not allowing fluid back out. There is also a slim chance that your brake light switch is failing. In some cases, these can freeze up preventing the pedal from fully retracting.
  4. The dates are set and my mother is in the process of securing plane tickets. We are planning on arriving on the 29th of June, and the stay will be for about 10-11 days, depending on the exchange rates. If anyone was thinking otherwise, this is a college graduation present, and I'll be 21 at that point.
  5. My mother had a couple more questions, so I thought I would again relay them to you guys. Because this trip is on a bit of a budget, when choosing places to spend the night, we are a bit concerned with price. My mother found this Bed and Breakfast that is located in "New Lanark." Are you guys familiar with it? http://www.newlanark.co.uk/bedbreakfast.htm Also, she is asking how easy/difficult it is to get around via the bus system. At this point, we are not sure if we can afford to go to London (which was the original reason for this trip). We will most likely be flying into Glasgow, and then traveling down to Warwickshire for a few days. Then we will take a bus or a train up to the Lanark/Glasgow area for the remainder of the trip. We are going to try to get to Paisley on a Saturday, as suggested by micra_wrc.
  6. A week there would be interesting, but yeah I think we might run out of things to do. We are probably flying into Glasgow and traveling down to London for a couple days to shop and so my mother can see the Tower. I applied for tickets to a screening of Top Gear, but that's a shot in the dark. After London we will go up to Warwickshire to see the castle. Somewhere around that time we will visit Prodrive and hopefully Roger Clark Motorsports (if they will allow visitors, I have not received an email back). Then it's up to Lanark for a day or two, and back up to Glasgow to spend probably another day or two before we fly back to the US.
  7. Thank you for all of the information. I haven't emailed Prodrive yet, but I guess that would be a good place to start. I would love to make it to a memorial for Colin, however my mother already asked off for two weeks in July. If the date is set relatively soon, my mother may be able to work something out with her work schedule. She's a nurse though, and they aren't very helpful with giving time off. As far as your tribute goes, I watched the news footage that was posted. I was very proud to see fellow Subaru owners go out of their way like that to show their support. I have that footage saved on my hard-drive. My mother is coordinating this, I am just gathering some of the information for her. She and my brother went on a trip to Ireland last May, so she has a better idea of what she's doing than I. Depending on the exchange rate (which currently does not work in our favor) we may only be able to stay for a week, probably from a Thursday to a Thursday. She said that it would be cheaper airfare to fly into and out of Glasgow, working our way down to London and back up. I'll pass this information on to her though, and maybe we could work it out so that we can stay in or near Paisley at some point on the trip. Neither of us have an international drivers license, nor have I ever ridden on a motorcycle. She thought that we might be able to rent bicycles, but I don't know of any places in the US that does that... let alone overseas. I'll keep you guys posted with our plans. It would be great to meet a few fellow Subaru owners while we're over there. Great, thanks for the input. If you know of any places closeby too, we're open to suggestions.
  8. Update, Post #9. I believe this is the proper forum. My Mother and I are planning a trip through the UK next summer as a graduation present. We are planning on starting in London, then traveling up to Warwickshire to tour the castle. My main goals are to visit Prodrive (whichever location is more visitor friendly) and hopefully Roger Clark Motorsports. On the last leg of our trip we plan to spend a night or two in Lanarkshire before moving on to Glasgow. I was hoping to see the late Colin McRae's residence from a distance (RIP), and we would like to tour the countryside.* I was looking on Google Earth and found these 2 hotels/bed & breakfasts: http://www.cartlandbridge.co.uk http://www.newlanarkhotel.co.uk/ Are they're any locals on here familiar with the area? Would either of those places be a decent place to spend the night? Would you suggest anything else? As far as touring the countryside goes, is there a place in the area to rent bikes from? Thank you for your time. If it is of any relevance, we are planning on taking this trip during the last week or two in July. *As for visiting the McRae residence, we do not plan on going near nor bothering anyone. Colin is the reason why I got into Subaru's in the first place, and I don't feel right traveling through the area without at least paying my respects in some way shape or form. As for the countryside goes, I'm into photography and I can imagine there being many photo opportunities. My mother on the other hand watches a lot of BBC America and would like to see some of the places she's seen on TV.
  9. Sorry to thefastone, I didn't mean to be rude. I forgot I was in the chat.
  10. Thanks for the tip. That's one place I'm hoping to stop on my way up the UK next summer. That, and Prodrive in Warwickshire. If I don't have any made by then, I'll probably pick some up.
  11. You have no idea how much this random picture helps. These decals are impossible to find in the states, so I've been looking to have replicas made. Its hard to find one with the detail though. Also, I didn't know that the foglight covers were notched. I picked up the HTAutos replicas, but now I see that the OEM ones are about the same price... with hardware. Babbling aside, the car looks great man.
  12. I've only broken the sensor, I never replaced it. The guy who replaced it (it wasn't on my car) said that it wasn't hard to do, and I don't believe that he had to remove much to get to it. This was on a USDM model, so there weren't clearance issues with the steering and brake master cylinder. What model year is yours? Here is a thread on a 95 WRX RA.
  13. I pulled this from the USDM 2002 WRX service manual. I hope it helps.
  14. Well done, brought a lump to my throat. Do you have the original available?
