The std ECU in a import 95 car is a Z4, lift the panel in the pax footwell and the sticker on the outside should state Z4. If you are in luck and it has not been removed then you can run it on Optimax alone The Z4 contains a very similer fuel and ignition MAP to the UK Prodrive ECU of the same year so this means the import Z4 is the most suitable to run on UK fuel It is generally other factors that make the engine go pop! Oil getting in the inlet tract and causing Det Inlet charge temp getting to high and causing Det Failing MAF sensor causing the AFR to lean out Taking the car over 100mph for a prolonged period of time, this causes the charge temp to rise pretty quickly. The slanty phase 1 intercooler in the 95 is not the most efficient in the world and over 100mph the air starts to miss the smallish scoop on the bonnet. The cars were limited to 112mph in japan. Equal length headers give a better flow through the cylinder head
