The RA in For Sale may suit your needs within budget

Thoughts are with his family []

Yeah but your RA has lots of other nice buttons and switches that the other Impreza's dont have

Look under the dash at the steering column You will see, might be taped up out the way if never used before, 2 Green connectors and 2 Black connectors. With the car at operating temp, this is important Switch car off and remove ignition keys Connect the 2 Black together and then the 2 Green. Turn on the ignition and you will hear the fans switching on and off, the boost solenoid clicking away on the drivers strut area, and the fuel pump switching on and off. This confirms the car is in diagnostic mode. Before you start the car hold the throttle to the floor for 30secs and then halfway for 30secs then release Start the car and drive it After a short time the Check Engine Light will steadily flash with an equal on and off flash. This steady flashing sequence now idicates that the ECU has been reset back to factory perameters. Switch off engine and disconnect the Black and Green connectors. Your ECU is now reset. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now with Optimax and booster in the tank take her out for a spirited run and the ECU will learn its new fuel quality and run accordingly. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you get a abnormal unsteady sequence of Check Engine Light flashes then the ECU is detecting a fault and will not reset the ECU until the faulty component is fixed or replaced. This code will give a long flash first then a short flash like 2 long light flash and 3 quick flashes would be a code 23 Or Take it to Subaru and ask them nicely to reset the ECU with Optimax and booster in the tank

99 WRX STI will be gagging for 100ron fuel, the ECU in the car would have been seeing Det and pulling the ignition back as far as possible Get that **** out the car asap by lots of low revs driving round town or open the tank hatch and pump it out into a bucket Once the tank is empty, refill with Optimax and a bottle of booster and then reset your ECU by using the black and green plugs under the dash or going to a local Subaru garage and getting them to plug in the Select Monitor with the purpose of resetting the ECU due to poor fuel. If this happens again go for BP Ultimate plus booster as a poor alternative or Q8 Super Unleaded plus booster as a really poor alternative. Keep some Octane Booster in the boot and use this in the tank before filling up and always use Super Unleaded of any variety as a minimum if you cannot access a Shell, BP or Q8.

I am more clued with the phase 1 engines I am 97.5% certain that the idle valve in the picture is located behind the coil pack on the Phase 2 engine

You have a coolant feed and an air feed Remove unit with 4 bolts Inside the coolant feed of the ICV is a Bimetallic strip that rects to the coolant temp, this gets gunked up though time and requires a good clean out with brake cleaner Same idea with the Air feed, this usually gets coked up with carbon deposits and again a damn good clean out with brake cleaner will suffice Refit with new gasket to prevent air leaks after the MAF sensor

Suzi Perry, she is right up there with Vicky Butler Henderson in the crackoneoff stakes Looking forward to this first corner melee when Eurosport reshow the race later on

Hence your pretty rapid stdish car Paddy Would be a good test to try pure new Optimax from Shell without booster to see what a JDM STI ecu does Knock wise

Near Powmill http://www.multimap.com/map/browse.cgi?cli...;multimap.y=242 Scale out on the map from there
-
Just what i thought, the Version 1 runs a pretty agressive map better suited to 100ron Japanese pump fuel What about a wee bitty test!!!! Reset your ECU and take her out for a run If possible, plug in a diagnostic machine a look up the Knock Correction to see what correction the ECU pulls across the map. ED-209, stays in Moodiesburn has the software if AWD does not have the OBD2 compatible software If it is 100ron of the same blend as Jpn then it will pull very little correction across the map Heres hoping

Defi question - Anyone fancy fitting them?
the squiggle replied to st3ph3n's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hisoob was the man in the know for the old Defi fitting. I have fitted AVC-R's and the like but never put a set of Defis in a car What guages did you get? -
What price was the said fuel? What ECU you running in your car Paddy?

You should see Motogp on the 360. The first corner accidents online are a sight to see with bikes and riders flying everywhere. I have been watching the Lemans 24hrs on Motors TV but will catch the Motogp later on

Looking at the Blue Ozmobile's spec 60psi of boost, about 4bar in old money 8 x 1600cc injectors 618hp at the wheels through a 9inch Ford diff but intrestingly STI front diff and drive shafts. Andy really does have his work cut out but looking at the 2 cars Andy surely wins on weight as the Ozmobile is carrying a lot of gear Andy is not.
-
The Blue Ozmobile holds the record at the mo but surely Scottish engineering will take the crown this year http://www.rigoliracing.com.au/video_page.html Makes our 300hp cars seem sh1t 8.351 @ 163mph

Looks like it is custom made to fit one ass and one ass alone. The snug fit is to make sure that ass dont wiggle when God launches it from 0 - 150mph in under 10 secs and covers a distance of one quarter of a mile Thing that bakes ma noodle is the 2 Commanders for the 2 ECU's
