The Shell at Lanark has been notified and have informed me that they will order a fresh supply on the day before we arrive. Once we have identified the fuel stations we will be using en route then i will note thier contact numbers and notify them a couple of weeks in advance of numbers expected We have also sent an email to both Shell and Tesco, both suppliers of 99 RON fuel, to see if they can assist in any way in exchange for advertising on the cars, in the form of thier company logo, or on the mcrae-gathering website in the form of banner ad If you dont ask you dont get is the rule i am following on this one

We are pleased to announce that the official website for the 2008 McRae Gathering has now gone live at http://www.mcrae-gathering.co.uk This is a totally independent website, not affiliated to any Club or Organisation which is designed to be a central source of information for both individuals and Club webmasters alike to keep up to date with the latest in planning for what is sure to be a weekend to remember and to ask any questions that may arise. You can sign up to our spam-free mailing list to get the latest news direct to your Inbox, we will be building a FAQ of your most frequently asked questions and there will also be an online shop where you can order your official McRae Gathering stickers (and maybe more!) Webmasters are encouraged to visit and read the intro article to make sure we link back to the sites that are supporting this event. This has the potential to be the largest ever organised Subaru event in the UK. Let's do Colin proud!

Was starting to really get into the swing of the Forrester bad boy look Absoloute no doubt the Legacy will turn out just as smart

At the same time Are you mad? Danger of electrocution for a start although Porcelin is a good insulator but the mess you would make of the TV would be unbearable and not to think of the poor maid that has to clear up after you.

Would that be the Esso station on the left as you leave the town for Glasgow? About time they replaced the nodding donkey pumps in there Still got half a tank of 96p stuff floating about in there but cant boot the car due to it being 3 month old and probably has a Octane value in the low 50's

Boost solenoid on the inner wing drivers side Remove it and take off both the air pipes but leave the connector connected. Under the dash next to the steering column there are 2 Green electrical connectors. Plug the Green plugs together. Now turn on the ignition but do not start. The boost solenoid will now start clicking away. Spray Brake Cleaner through the solenoid and you will hear the clicking getting sharper and noticably louder. Let the Brake Cleaner run through and dry out. Turn off ignition. Reconnect air pipes and refit solenoid to baulkhead. Reset ECU (How to can be found in SIDC FAQ). Boost should now be more stable in the higher gears Hope this helps

Both very pertinent points 1. Yes we will raise as much money as possible through one or two ideas. Whatever profit from the stickers will be the starting point for the fund raising, Marty (Scoobaroo) has a cracking idea of a Sprint challenge at Ingliston against the Scottish MLR members, Autotecart have given support at this early stage in the form of some excellent Limited Edition McRae artwork and a quality piece of clothing to commemorate this great event similer to the RBRelay polo shirts 2. I have a list made up and when people get a sticker sent out to them i will add there real name to a central list. This should let regions make up there own list and allow me to keep track of the expected total Hope this alleviates any concerns

OFFICIAL WEBSITE FOR THIS EVENT http://www.mcrae-gathering.co.uk/ McRae Gathering 30th and 31st of August 2008 In the past few months since the sad passing of Colin McRae, feverish work has taken place behind the scenes to create a tribute from the Subaru community with the view of celebrating the life of a true legend. Now that official permission has been obtained from the parties concerned, McRae Estate, Jimmy and Margaret McRae and Prodrive, and approval for our plan been obtained from the relevent authorities, this is the time to release the details of what is planned. An event taking place on the weekend of Aug 30th and 31st comprising of a convoy of Impreza's from Lanark, Colin's home town and Prodrive in Banbury. An overnight stop comprised of either camping for the hardcore or Travelodge/B & B's for the not so hardcore and a mass Subaru meeting on the Sunday at Prodrive in Banbury. The maximum speed of the convoy will be 10mph less than the given speed limit for the road and NO excessive speed will be tolerated by ANYONE. Everyone taking part in the convoy will have one of these stickers on there car to designate that they are indeed part of the convoy.
