<< Glad to hear it's in Grant, now I can tell you the bad news. Unfortunately the whine from that turbo means you have to drive everywhere in 2nd gear and getting more than 100 miles from a tank will be a distant memory soon. Also, everyone will tell you it sounds gubbed. Please treat her with the respect she deserves and cane the flurkin ar$e off her at every opertunity. >> It just sounds awesome tickling about the place. Even Davie Downstairs, a right fussy booger, commented on it when i blipped the throttle, switched it off and the turbo spun on for about 10 secs It is good to know my old TD05 is going on to bigger and better things. As all the previous runs have been to the other 3 corners of Scottish civilisation it is only fair that we head for the South East area to give everyone a chance to get involved in a run that goes through thier area Cal, the area you suggest is truly awesome and i am looking to that area for the run after this one. Which will probably be the September weekend and if i can coax Imy into a tent then yes i am also aiming for camping if not then B+B for us. As Inverness has the last Optimax stop before the roads from heaven start we could look to slightly north of Inverness for a camping, B+B base. A possible format for the run in Sept would be to meet very early in Inverness, fill up with Optimax then head out for a days driving. Source a campsite/B+B for an overnight p*ss up and another day in the highlands on the Sun burning off some more of the earths natural resources All for a bit later on and let me concentrate in getting the August run done and dusted then look to the overnighter/weekender Grant

After some burst knuckles and a Basil Fawlty moment, i got a big fat man to remove my turbo. The IHI VF28 turbo from the devils own car now resides under my bonnet, IMHO probably the finest sounding turbo in the world. All praise the devil who plays the huge turbo and intercooler game....... Next on the list is a spot of fitting the big intercooler into a hole it was not designed for. Fortunatly i know of a man called Dave that has done this trick before and has offered his services for the cost of a HKS FCD. After that it is fit the Power FC and Commander then have a go at blowing the ar*e end out of the car with some completely amatuer ECU mapping...... So once all the above is fitted and running the old parts will be up for sale to the peeps that have expressed an interest. Also got a set of Black electric mirrors off of Ebay for £10.......... Mods purchased this month. Apexi Power FC and Commander. IHI VF28 roller bearing turbo. STI Type-R intercooler. Mocal oil cooler. Dremel to port the headers. A few Greddy guages for EGT and water temp. AVCR Electronic boost control. Apexi pseudo wideband AFR/turbo timer. Wilky's old flaps. New teeth for me, custom made by Prodrive to WRC spec. 4 new spare coilpacks. Mods that are planned.................... Further lighten the car. Bigger injectors. PC fans onto the bottom of the intercooler. Refit the Kenwood TV and PS2. HKS CAMP unit that will display all the engine info onto the the TV screen. Might look like a bag of sh*te but by christ it will go................... Thanks Imy for being an understanding girlfriend Grant

I am in the final stages of planning the next run. Looking at the end of August, starting central and heading south east Some of the extra criteria in this run will include a tarmac surface check with dubious surfaces avoided or noted on maps. Gumball will have 2 of his coils disconnected to drastically reduce the GBL's power output. Brian, sorry for Mr JDM's remark and you knocked the nail on the head with "OBVIOUSLY MORE MONEY THAN SENSE". Sorry for the chips and screen damage, i will ensure that the surfaces we aim for are completely smooth. Grant

Also heard a wee rumour that all the speed camaras in a 30 mile radius have been switched off. Apparently it was fooking about with the targeting system in the Apache gunships. Grant

<< Dipsy I have some reading on catch can/PVC systems if you want me to send it via PM? >> Dont want to be pedantic but it is PCV, which stands for Positive Crankcase Ventilation. This is the system that Subaru uses to replace the old crankcase gases with fresh air from the induction. Unless you are referring to replacement double glazing, in which case i apoligise. Grant

Does it sound faintly like a diesel! I dont know about the GRRRR GRRRR GRRRR GRRRR bit but does it get louder when you rev the engine at the throttle body?. Does the noise get louder the higher the car revs. What oil do you use and when was it last changed? Underneath the manifold at the junction with the manifold is where the crank runs along towards the gearbox. Is it still driving and can you bring it to the meet on Tues and i can have a listen to the Tiger in your manifold area Grant

Welcome Mrs JC Damn fine choice as a second car Grant

Still make it back to Coatbridge in time for tea and roller bearing turbo. Grant -

This has been receiving excellent reviews on other forums for its realism Need to seriously update the graphics card and get a decent wheel to get the most out of it Another recommendation is "Enthusia" on the PS2. More realistic than GT4 esp in the weight transfer dept. Grant
