Is the ECU from a 93-95 car then it will fit but the MAP will be a tad aggressive. If you are gonna give it some beans then i strongly recommend Octane Booster to prevent it from detting. You will feel the extra shove in the back but it will need to be pampered a bit more You still got the std dump valve kicking about, if so i will be over some time this evening to pick it up. Grant

Thought you would never ask unless you are planning on cooling the electrics with the water spray. I was gonna fabricate some sort of shroud out of an old pair of tights and a Cornetto but if you donate the old under tray God bless the Satanic one and his wonderful mode of transport Grant

Square peg into slanty hole is a good description......... Had to use the silicone pipe from the phase 1 intercooler and chop an inch off it. So the Gucci red STI silicone pipes are atill in one piece and can be passed onto a good home. Grant

Tomorrows tasks. Fit "Charge temp monitor". Fabricate blanking plate for the dump valve. Obtain std recirc dump valve from Boabster and fit. Remove interior carpet and ECU cover. Secure metal cabin plate over back seat hole. Tidy up Heatshield. Test run on std ECU to see what boost it will hold with the new turbo and cooler fitted. Old turbo and Cooler ran 1.1 bar at 271 brake and 260 lbs/ft. Mods to date are FSE adjustable regulator Walbro 225 l/ph uprated fuel pump NGK PFR7B spark plugs IHI VF 28 Turbo with custom top entry conversion Version 4 Type R intercooler WRC Downpipe with 3 inch bore Fujitsubo Giken "Titanium Hybrid" exhaust system Dry K+N 57i Air Filter with custom cold air feed and heatshield Intercooler water spray Apexi front Carbon Fibre Strut Brace Lambdalink Knocklink Veilside boost guage Greddy turbo timer Advan Competition Alloys ScoobyECU Still to arrive/fit Apexi Power FC and Commander Apexi AVC-R Electronic boost controller Apexi Turbo Timer with built in Pseudo Wideband Greddy Exhaust Gas Temp guage HKS Camp unit Life is good Grant

Well thats the turbo fitted and how good does it sound. I have to say frankly it is erection material the noise it emits. Spent the whole day trying to fit a Type R intercooler into a hole that it was not designed for. So a wee touch of the Grinder and a big fook off hammer and it is there and with the majority of my skin still on my body. It actually looks as if it is meant to be there Well chuffed Grant

Can I get the chirpy waste gate sound from a WRC car ?
the squiggle replied to JamesF's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Had the WRC style chirp for over a year now To obtain WRC style chirp requires you to remove all of the dump valve components and blank off the openings. The TD05 turbo fitted to the early cars can handle the stress of the turbo spinning back and forth very quickly when you lift off the throttle. The IHI series of turbos were a bit more fragile in the main shaft dept and are not suited to non dump valve spec. I now need to fit a std recirc as i have replaced the TD with a VF28 so no more chirp for me... Grant -
Sorry misread it there. As hetro as the next Squirrel. Grant

I have to agree with you kitten_sti, Gumball is most certainly the funniest GAY in here. Grant

If it is from an auto then it has had an easy life, so that will be a plus point The Legacy JDM cars were 280bhp so it is capable of holding sustaining the same power Fit the flywheel and turbo and it will be nigh on identical. Grant

<< would anyone like to take me from glasgow to this meet in their subaru, as mine is off the road as of tomorrow? this would be a big help !!!!! >> NO Grant

ECU is in the passenger side footwell behind the kickplate To limit the boost to 0.5bar, run a length of pipe straight from the output nipple of the turbo straight to the actuator. This will prevent the car going any higher than 0.5 bar Grant
-
The general power and smoothness will come from the TD05 turbo and the Z4 ECU that your car has just now If it is a different turbo on it to the TD05 that is on yours then fit the 05 and it will run the same 1995 was the point which STI set up thier own production line so prior to 95 the STI and WRX block were the same. After the new engine is fitted, limit the boost to 0.5 bar for the first couple of hundred miles. Grant

Booger ma cooncil telle disnae pick up Sky Sports 1, 2 or 3 Hopefully they show Eugene Donnelly at the Swinton crossroads......... Grant -
Spoken like a true profesional. The Version 3 is particular dodgy in the MAF area so a Knocklink would be a first purchase Grant
-
Not technically minded, just read a hell of a lot of obscure Jap magazines 1. The turbo should be a IHI VF23 2. Greersport would be able to service/repair the car 3. Basically Dry.........all the way back, the wetter it gets put it further forward Do you have a Knocklink or similar device fitted as 1.6 bar is a tad high. Yes it will like to shake its arse with 1.6 bar running through it. Be careful coming out the corners Grant

Welcome along. Christ we are gonna need more space soon to accomadate all these newcomers..... There is a meet tonight down Kilmarnock way but they are a bit funny down that way........IMHO Next Glasgow meet is on the 2nd August at the Brewers Fayre in Hillington. Always had faith that you would do it. Be interesting to see what Pavlo replies with........ When the flat shift system is fully operational, do you reckon you could get it under 10 running the gas as well. Well done that man Grant -
Welcome kitten_sti Hope to see you at a meet soon. Grant
