That sounds like a surprisingly frugal sum for a new engine, particularly of such high spec - great work.
I have a bog-standard WRX 2.5. Wondering how I might go about 'unleashing the beast' once the warranty's expired. The Prodrive PPP seems a tad expensive to me, considering the net gains...
A visit to Andy Forrest is what you need.

Mate's first car was an A plate Astra in that flat sky blue they did. Nicknamed the Millenium Astra as it was the fastest hunk of junk in the galaxy (Star Wars reference more applicable to the junk part of that sentence).
He bumped no end of things and it just bounced off with it's metal bumpers. Proper cast iron car!
5t.
Mines had a four or a five inch exit exhaust on it that could and would set off car alarm at 50 yards.

A few of mines that i have pictures of...
Astra mk1 gte ( well actually a 1.2 ) Me and another two of mates all had these at the same time but they were all different colours so it was like the Italian job around the streets of kincardine.
Gave the Astra to my brother after he wrote of his first car and bought the Golf gti mk11 8v
Sold the Golf and got a BMW 318is
Sold the BMW and got another although this time it was the new mini cooper.
Sold the mini and got my first subaru..
Saved the best for last..

I dont think the one in the first link is an sti intercooler, its a wrx one with sti painted on by the looks of it. There is one for sale on scoobynet at the moment although its not the best looking .
http://bbs.scoobynet.com/private-sale-gene...ntercooler.html
If you count across the number of rows on the one in your ebay link and then compare it to the one on scoobynet it looks like it is shorter. ( hope this makes sense )
I would avoid the aftermarket one and hold out for an sti one.

Just heard there is a bent RB320 at T & C Aberdeen - the_ex_leper?
Hope everyone is OK and the damage is not to bad!
Just hope they wanted everyone to know about it
. ( Hope nobody was hurt )

its not an ra but been told the pre face lifts were the lightest mine dont have any air con so saves weight 2 would like 2 weight ma car. Is there anywhere in fife that can??
Weight here mate.

At a guess i think they are about 1250kg, sure somebody will be along in a bit with more info!
There is a thread going about somewhere that gives the weight of Grant and Imys cars. They arent the same models as yours but it gives you a rough idea. I will see if i can find it.
Found it ...
http://forums.sidc.co.uk/index.php?showtop...ridge&st=60
Both cars weighed in at 1250kg. Not sure how far off this will be from yours.

Cal,
rear tints as far as i am aware are fine, should not have any trouble with the law. Is only the fronts that will get you into grief!
Cal glad to see that car went to a good home. I couldnt believe how long it was for sale for. I look forward to seeing it in action at knockhill in the future.

Hello and welcome on board.
Hide or cut up your credit card before everyone fills your head with costly ideas.

Be prepared for a bit smoldering when you take the car on its first run with it fitted.
