  1. Ah well maybe make the top next time eh... Better get out in the cars and run old women in Beemers off the road...
  2. Does anyone know where to get an RB320-style stainless grille kit for a Hawkeye, apart from direct from Subaru?
  3. Probably ok because it's pre-2001 mate.. There are sites that will tell you the exact situation but i can't remember the address so maybe best to Google it..
  4. Stunning car and stunning pictures mate!!
  5. Looks an absolute monster mate, well done and enjoy!!!!!
  6. Hi mate, welcome along....
  7. Not having a go mate.. But with the pictures of the engine bay etc. it looked a bit like a blatant for sale advert.. and i was just out the pub..
  8. I do apologise if i've hurt anyones feelings.... i didn't realise this was primary school... and also (wrongly it seems) thought we were all entitled to our opinions... I'll let the experts do the talking from now on eh......
  9. Away off to the Lancer register.... I don't mind Evos but i'm not going to big them up on the most common scottish scooby forum.. that's ridiculous...
  10. Absolutely cracking mate.....
  11. That looks absolutely immense.... well worth it I would say...
  12. Nice looking car mate.. have to agree about ditching the Max Power lights though.. Then again each to their own!!!
  13. Sorry to see that dude, glad you're ok.. As for the airbags, I wrote off an 04 STI last year, hit a dividing fence between 2 carriageways and hit one of the main strong bars, full on frontal impact, bent the front cross-member in a proper V shape, wrecked the subframe and knocked belts off the engine etc.. hit it so hard the car stopped dead and actually jumped round 180 degrees and hit the back end too... ANYWAY.. the airbags never went off... and that should definitely have done it... Know how you feel anyway mate, it'll all sort itself out soon enough...
  14. That's what I thought... a good job is always worth a bit of praise these days...
  15. Hope so, there's a lonely Subaru here looking for another car that speaks Japanese to keep it company...
  16. Lovely cruiser!! probably a bit more comfortable than an STI.. (not as much fun though!!)
  17. Just had a set of 17" Golf GTI Monza wheels refurbished at Chameleon in Renfrew (the place that gives the SIDC discount).. The price was £160 (£40 per wheel) instead of the quoted £35, the guy reckoned the balancing was £5 each and hadn't been included in our price. But still saved £20 with the SIDC discount... ANYWAY... credit where it's due, was a bit sceptical at first but the job was superb, i'd definitely use them again... Here we are..
  18. Aye i'd be lying if I said i hadn't been thinking about that... I may be in touch seeing as you mentioned a good deal!!!!!! Mark
  19. I know a guy that was trying out a similar product, they were called 'MPG Caps' or something like that, were supposed to reduce fuel consumption by reducing friction and therefore drag on internal components, can't remember if they were anything to do with Acetone, and i've not spoken to him in ages so not sure if they have properly worked.. I do know however that he somehow got into contact with the guy in the States and was going to be a UK distributor... Must be something in it.....
  20. Maybe not a shouting rally car look but a really nice sharp looking machine!
  21. Hardly a solution, but as regards the worry that he might be lining up your car to have a pop at, you could always use the "super-lock" system so that the car can't be started even with the keys. The only way you can start it is by you entering the pin code... Obviously that wouldn't be ideal if he's already broken into your house to get the keys right enough... The guy might be a dreamer or he might just be an indecisive loon.. either way I think you're right to have a few suspicions..
  22. Cheers dude, I think so too.. Not the easiest colour to keep but it's worth it, black is definitely the new black!!
  23. Thanks for all your comments, loving the new car, especially the 2.5, it just goes and goes!! Always sad to see the old one go but we had a good time together!! Won't be totally away from the odd little mods (especially with you lot on here...) so watch this space.... Hopefully going to start getting along to some of the Glasgow meets as well when work permits so onwards and upwards.. Cheers everyone, Sparky
  24. Out with the Blobeye and in with the Hawkeye!!! Massive thanks to Gavin at Ian Grieve for a cracking deal on a cracking car, and to Charlie for a few extra bits and bobs... New car is absolutely awesome, exactly what I was after and long may it last!!! Won't be going to town on mods because I reckon it's brilliant as it is. Just a set of Prodrive mudflaps, Revolution lip spoiler and just had her into Hypertech for a Hayward & Scott centre section so she's looking good and sounding nice. The old girl... The new girl....
  25. What part are you trying to bleed? I take it the thermostat has been fitted? obviously before there is any heat in the water the thermostat will prevent a certain amount of water from travelling to the radiator. I would try to get as much water in as possible, make sure the water pump is well primed and give it the occasional crank with the header cap off, and see how it goes..
