  1. Thanks, just down the road from me.
  2. Where abouts in Paisley are they, might be of use in the future.
  3. I was at my wits with the handling of my 07 WRX wagon to the point i was thinking about selling it. Got some whiteline stuff fitted (arb's, drop links, ALK and lower springs) and the geometry set up properly at hypertech, i love driving the car now and look forward driving the B class roads when i can. I woulden't say you need to fit all but at least think about the ABR's, drop links and geometry set up.
  4. My last car did this in 3rd, (2000 awd when it had about 20k on the clock). I would drop into 3rd and push it hard going up a steep hill i drove every day it would get to about 3k revs then the revs would climb but the car hardly increased in speed. I thought i was my imagination until it done the same on the motorway except this time it popped right out of 3rd to neutral. When i phoned the garage they told me to bring it in right away, turned out it needed a new 3rd gear.
  5. I just got eagle f1 asymmetric with the intention of changing the fronts only when worn. These tyres have amazing grip, if i get 10k from the fronts and 20k from the back i will be happy.
  6. Hi, can anyone recommend where to get my front break pads supplied and fitted in the Hillington/Paisley area. Need them done ASAP as the are completely worn.
  7. Just to add the auction has ended. It's re-listed at a cheaper price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...n%3D4%26ps%3D42
  8. Looks good, however the first thing i note is the 2 month MOT.
  9. Just reading in the Paisley Daily Express, the driver of the land rover is suspected to have had a heart attack and unfortunately died at the scene.
  10. That was a great read, now i understand why my front tyres are wearing on the inner edge.
  11. Just filled up at the shell garage at Lonend Paisley they are selling Vpower at the same price as unleaded. I asked the shop attendant how long the offer was on for and she did not know, so it could just be today only.
  12. I made a thread on this ages ago when my mate got a fine and 3 penalty points for front tints and was made to remove them before he could drive the car. I see cars every day with illegal tints, some of them really dark which are obv fitted aftermarket. So i guess it's up to the cops whether they have time or are that bothered enforcing the law on this, i haven't seen them pulling cars over for tints. I would put it down to bad luck on getting stopped in the first place.
  13. Ritchie, i see you have a wagon. I stand to be corrected (because i could be talking crp) but i thought the wagon's standard front ARB is a smaller diameter than the saloon type, so going back to the standard one might not be a good idea. Im sure i read about this in the North American Subaru Owners Club forums.
  14. I renewed in June, performance direct renewal was over £800, i went with elephant £590.00 with suspension mods declared. Would have been £460.00 without declared mods. Note: My excess is £700.00
  15. I have been checking the wear on my tiers and haven't noticed this yet, one thing for sure there is less wear on the outer side saving £££
  16. Yes you may as well get drop links and ARB's at the same time. As far as springs are concerned i would get the prodrive springs, i have whiteline ones which cost less but they are noisy.
  17. Get the fast road settings at hypertech for £55.00 and it will not only improve grip but will also pay for itself it tyre ware.
  18. That would make me suspicious too, i'd keep the keys with me all the time (as you should do anyway). He might just be a dreaming time waster.
  19. I took my friend and our kids to Blackpool on Friday cost about £100 in petrol for a round trip from Paisley.
  20. This turning to bio fuel stuff is a load of crap. The land they use is currently growing food crop, so we make more crop land or push up the cost of food. This has a knock on effect as we buy more food from poorer countries which in turn will increase the cost of food to the worlds poorest peolpe causing starvation and poverty. A solution for these countries is to clear forrest (if they have any) for farming thus hurting the environment. Further more scince these crops are not for human consumption i assume that they will be highly hybridised, or GM type crops designed to grow fast with high yealds of suger or oil, meaning that they we extract all the goodness in the soil so that the farmers will have to revert to fertilizer, again not so good for the environment. I say stick with the Back Stuff.
  21. I think you are getting me and the OP mixed up. I have a 1 year old WRX, my is standard 230bhp. I will be covered by warranty (i hope). It's booked for a service this week, will ask the garage thier oppinion.
  22. I think my clutch is on the way out, the cars only just done 10k miles.
  23. Perhaps you could say, We were understaffed as we did not expect such a high turnout, if you would like to send us your list of parts you had in mind we can still offer you the extra 10% discount and give you advice on the parts you have choosen or may have overlooked. We are very sorry for the way you feel you have been treated, customer service and satisfaction is our goal and we will take your comments on board and hope we can be of service in the future.
  24. I have ALK, springs, 22mm F & R ARB's, fast road geo settings on my 07 wagon. I would still like to have less understear, i still need to try the rear bar on stiffest setting. Having said that it's not that bad, i would not remove the front bar as i like the flat feel when turning. Still i would like to have tried 22mm F & 24mm R.
  25. Sick, i'd like to nail the stealing xxxx to trees and slowly cut bits off them.
