  1. i know this should go in strictly techical but i'd like some scottish answers please. (so dont end up driving to england to get it fixed) couple of weeks back i got a loud crunch changing into 3rd gear which i though was me being a bit lazy on the clutch (thought was strange though as i never usually lift clutch to quick) since then i'm not getting any noises but when i change into 3rd i'm still feeling the crunch through gear stick i was thinking clutch or gear box was going so searched this site and found a few people saying it could be sync mesh, not sure what this is but hopefully cheaper than a gearbox also spotted it could be fixed with gearbox still in the car, just diff needing removed for access? so questions are, does this sound like sync mesh problem? how much roughly would this job cost? and where's the best and closest place to take it from dundee? (i could take it to a gearbox garage but would prefere someone with subaru knowledge that could fix it without removing whole gearbox possibly saving labour costs ) my99 uk turbo cheers for any info you guys might have
  2. emailed this message to the mcrae site, phoned barnstones caravan park and they sold out for 30th aug, the nice chap said he has a rally on in his field and its taking up alot of his space that weekend. he said to try bo peeps as its only a mile along the road and a far larger site. phoned bo peep caravan park and i was the first enquiry he has had for sat 30th. he said he has plenty space and would not mind if i added his park to the forum for other users bo peep caravan park 01295 810 605 i've booked two pitches

  11. lol got a heated garage, my car is well treated every night. i'm thinking it could be the heating that is making the rust worse so quick as few weeks ago there was no bubbling. should maybe hose off the salt before it dries in every night. cheers for advise though i'll leave it till summer
  12. just noticed a bit of rust bubbling around rear wheel arch (mainly from me not cleaning dirt from the iner lip i suppose) jacked car up to have a good look under it, looks like it could do with an underseal (its a 99 uk and looks about 30 years old underneath. my old corrado was a 90 and was mint underneath). noticed subaru paint does not seem to have many coats (easily scratched compaired to any other car i've had) so i guess they were very sparing with the underseal too is there any good underseal spray stuff with added rust killer? the stuff on halfords website only look like underseal but with no rust killer. wheel arch will need repaired by bodyshop but i'd rather underseal myself if any decent stuff on the go. cheers
  13. i'm gonna need to buy another tent i get a new 1 every year for t in the park and always say this time i'll bring it home, that is till monday morning when you just want home. got my holidays booked off work, should be a nice wee drive

  15. thanks for this info, just done it myself after reading this. i cut the resonator box off the bottom of the piping so i could keep the front scoop going into the wing and the curved bit that goes into the air box. in my wing now i just have a u pipe with hole in the bottom (where resonator was) do you think this will work ok? noticed my cats smell a bit more now though, just need to get them off and a remap and i'm happy
  16. i use green panel filter ebay £35 delivered
  17. when i got my windows done i got them checked first to see what they are standard it came up reading 73% the window tinting guy said even if i put on the clear shatter proof stuff it would take it just under the limit. put the lightest i could on the front and the reading is now 60%, had them on 6months so far so good the guy also said that all renault people carriers come under the 70% limit as standard, sure he said around 65%
  18. halfords do code match but i'd rather go with dingbro in dundee
  19. i'll add mine here as not too start another thread, WIY black newage gold wheels (not sure of year) drives past my work daily on riverside drive, has great sounding exhaust
  20. the ultima was quick at crail but the tvr was far faster. ultima's quickest 1/4 mile time = 12.266 sec. its slowest time was 16.037 sec nearly beaten by a saxo vts (my mates). mind you someone dropped all their coolant at the start and for the rest of the afternoon noone in the left lane could get a good start, meaning there was alot of corsa drivers in the right lane thinking they quicker than supra's
  21. i have a 99uk turbo and it had this it when i got it http://195.212.11.58/IMGGB/WWW/Subaru_Acce...FB?Opendocument i've looked all through the owners manual and cant find intructions how it works or what it is. at first i never bothered about it but now after 6 months i want to know how it works does anyone know if it in the forester 98-02 manual? if so i'm sure i can get from ebay
  22. yesterday will be i day i will never forget. some nice pictures of the convoy which is good as every time my passenger tried to take a photo, i'd hit a corner and get left with a picture of the bushes behind us. coming home was a journey on its own. pulled out of lanark following a few soobs and after 20mins my mate was the one who spotted i was heading SOUTH to carlisle. after consulting a map we managed to find a great wee road that took us back towards m74 which ran behind the hills south of lanark. coming down the very tight little road got us thinking about colin, 20 years earlier and i'm sure he would've been flying around there. tired legs today though with all the standing at the rally on saturday then lanark on sunday. a weekend i will never forget though. P.S sorry to the big beemer traffic car that nearly ran up my back side coming back up m74. lol i was lost and going mega slow. took all my directions for getting to the happendon services but forgot to keep them for coming home many thanks to all who helped organise this event, without you guys i would never have found where i was going
  23. whoops made an a*** of the numbering can someone please sort it, i'm in the classics between 89 & 90 lol computers never was my strong point
