Has anyone seen the moaning gits over on Scoobynet? Some people are unbelievable. Need to make the next gathering by invitation only!!

All the organisers and helpers/contributors did so so well. Had a great time and felt so much pride to take part in such a massive tribute to a much missed character. There was not an accessible bridge en route that didn't have people waving/filming/clapping/displaying flags or banners. My horn was sore by the time we got to Banbury. Brilliant success and inspired decision to organise it in the first place. Jimmy must have been touched as he stood at Douglas Road End watching us file past. His son is a true legend.

You must be keen. I can't be bothered with mine just now, it was left near some bushes when I stayed at a friends house and it seems to be covered in some sap, needs polished. Would like it done by someone else, someone who can be identified as reliable and preferably been used previously to vouch for this. Had one previously done by a franchise and was a tad let down to be honest by the results.

The scoob is out of warranty in September and I've had an offer in to extend it for one or two years. What's the recent views on this and has anyone taken and or used it? Does it cover the same as the original 3 year one? How much are rear shocks as mines already had two and I hear the same sounds begin again. Surely it'll be easier to sell on with this(presuming it's transferable with the car)?

Need car valeted before The McRae Gathering. Who can recommend a really good one, mobile preferably, who'll come to me before the big event? Cars in Lesmahagow during the day. Cheers.

Car was fine with original, just fancied the VTA one to go with the overrun banging and the rally decals, the whole package if you like, childish I know, but the car is not discreet to start with. So, the new one on with red spring, no dump, this is bad as can wreck turbo I believe, red out, blue in and it dumps, not loud, but does dump. The thing is the car is differnet to drive now, it's more eager under light throttle and I'm wonder if my recirc one was done? Anyway, there's got to be a science to setting it correctly so who can tell all?

No one know? Has everyone else just got their fingers crossed? There's gotta be a method, surely?

Can anyone advise on the best way to obtain the correct setting of this valve using the springs/shims? What's the correct way to achieve this? I take it you need a boost gauge to aid set up but can't get my head round getting it right! My thinking is to get it a couple of notches above where it would leak under load but this isn't easily measured as far as I can see! Help! PS It's fitted to an Andy F mapped 05 STI, tried the red spring but it wouldn't dump, it's now got the blue spring it came with in and it dumps but want to be sure all's well. Any tips?

Does anyone know what the government makes in fuel tax per year. More importantly how much that has increased (or maybe decreased) in relation to everything else, inflation etc. The £3billion going into Northern Rock could have been used to discount V-power. For Scooby owners only obviously!

Use it everyday, commute only being half a mile, most miles at nights and weekends, been to Thruxton, Snetterton and Milton Keynes recently, oh and Blackpool too with kids. 14k in 12 months. It's far from economical but I think it's the most comfortable seat of any long distance car I've owned. If only they ran on water. . . Of course it would be Perrier. It would have to be!

Ok, Ferodo it will be then. Always been happy with Ferodo for general fitment to any make/model so performance ones hopefully will follow on in that vein! Any recommendations on where to buy at a good price, and/or a part number for 2005 Sti(front)?

What is the expected volume leaving Lanark and does anyone know a rough "on the road" running length of the convoy? Non Scoob drivers have asked me this and many more questions besides! They're just jealous. When we did the memorial one from Cairn Lodge it was as far as you could see. In either direction!! Keep up the good work guys.

I realise that the convoy will be in single file, has anyone thought of it's physical length though? As an Impreza driver I'm fully aware of the views some people have of the cars we drive. I just think that in reality, where most cars rarely ever travel on the motorway at 70mph or less that, to remove the difficulties with trucks and coaches, we should consider 70mph for the 3 lane motorway sections. Has there been a convoy of these proportions on a long motorway journey before? How did that turn out?

I know this will cause uproar, but has there been real thought given to the decision on speed limit for the convoy. My Subaru does 56mph at an indicated 60mph, with the volume of cars likely to be in convoy, this is gonna cause a helluva inconvenience to other road users. How many times have you all read of lorries sitting side by side for miles on end on these or other forums? It infuriates car drivers. I drive trucks too and I'm not a slow or excessively fast driver but I think maybe there should be some sensible discussion on this. I can fully see that we shouldn't annoy anyone, but this may create just this kind of feeling. If we attempt to run at 60mph, trucks and coaches are gonna become a real problem. Thoughts?

Hi all, Not been able to use the forum for a bit but I'm back keeping an eye on things and looking forward to the McRae Gathering. Stickers and tops ordered. My car (05MY Blobeye STi) just crept past 30k. Had it serviced for the warranty (it's last with the dealer) and it needs brake pads at the front. Had a quick search but didnt find any clear cut evidence of the route to go on here. It's running about 340bhp and has standard brakes and suspension at the moment. Any suggestions? Pads, discs? Not looking at any caliper changes so who knows which way to go or do I just stick Subaru pads in? Car won't be used on a track. Just a little question to sneek in, when will the next Glasgow meet be? I've meant to come along before now but I just can't ever get the timing right! Cheers

Paid a visit to Andy Forrest on Thursday past. What a guy! Whole experience very pleasant and the results are tremendous! What a difference to the way the car goes. It makes rapid progress without any effort, pulls far better, from lower revs and cleaner without drop off. Lower speed runs in 3rd and 4th are fantastic when the power takes hold it is superb. Can only recommend you pay this man a visit. Mines an 05 STi, h&s decat downpipe, andy recommended plugs, a performance panel filter, full exhaust from scoobyworld(name escapes me) with a ninja II rear box. After remap Andy's test showed an average 342bhp, with I think 330 torques! Well impressed. I also had Andy map in a backfire, which so far is hilarious to watch pedestrians dive for cover! And the launch control type start rev limit superb. Getting the hang of not frying the clutch! Overall very very pleased so far, no reason to believe that will change Cheers Andy.
