  1. Good choice mate, you won't be dissapointed, trust me.

I hope not at those prices :)

Was also wondering, anyone ever sold their standard discs? Is there a market for them? Absolutely nowt wrong with mine!

  2. Well, the deal is done. After speaking with Cusco Kid about my suspension mods, I took the plunge and ordered Performance Friction discs and pads as he gave them the thumbs up too.

Fingers crossed all will be well, I've ordered them direct from them in Banbury and they should be here tomorrow!

I'm glad I don't need calipers or wheels as this will make the mod process a little bit cheaper and quicker!

Photos will follow, fitting may need to wait till next week . . . .

  3. Barry,

I have PF discs and pads on my car, very very good mate and was put to the test on the run last Thur, not a bit of fade and highly reccommended.

However i have had issues with mine and to cut a long story short if you only do short journeys and dont get them up to temp you will not get the best wear from them as i found out as i only do 6 miles a day and 4500 and they are half worn already, have had a new set froM PFUK, However i would not buy them from AZTEC PERFORMANCE as he has been a drama as well and are not fully PF UK dealers.

Don't like the sound of that Mac, supply issues I mean, I've emailed Godspeed about their 335mm kit, it looks good to me. Can anyone comment or advise? I like the sound of keeping 17" wheels on the car, makes less expense and I think I'd struggle to get strong enough wheels without spending a small fortune!

  4. if you have a spare 600 ish quid then Performance Friction disks and pads will stop you everytime

there was a group buy on scoobynet not sure if still going

Does this mean front Brembos are good enough then?

  5. There's lots of posts on brakes, mainly discs and pads though.

I'm intending to mod my car and after Cusco Kid has finished advise me on the suspension I'll want to do the brakes.

Does the STi need bigger brakes, what's the concensus?

The car will ultimately be fast road, potentially occasional track use, maybe eventually around 450bhp, don't want to spend any more than that!

  6. Given the advice here, I'll wait a couple of months and see if new hardware appears, with who and at what cost. If Orange got this I'd be chuffed, if at the right price . . . .

  7. Finished it last week with $9050. Some of the levels you build and they break, try them without alteration and they don't! Also make sure you're connections are bang on, when in a hurry you can be just a little off!

  8. Joined the M74 N/B at J10 at 6:15pm tonight and the sneaky boys were just pulling up 20 metres from the end of the slip road. Fully marked 5 series with so much sh!t in the windscreen I reckon the driver would need to poke his head out the window to see where he was going!

First time I've ever seen them using this slip road in this way, the good ol' bridge stunt must be too well known now!

  9. My contract is now up, it will be a N97 or iphone, just waiting for reviews and of corse prices for new models to come out, big write up in this months stuff mag about the new iphone.

    Mac,

what did the mag say, anything exciting?

  10. Bloody lucky there! Did it hit the cage and deflect, it seemed to jump as it came through?

Reminds me of a Landrover I picked up once from an RTA on the M74 at junc 10, he left the road, down embankment and through a wooden fence, think he ran along the fence length wise for a bit as the inside looked like a game of ker plunk! Not injured luckily!

  11. All slip roads coming on, as above D & G sneaky gits.

As you approach J10, they can sit on the bridge about 1 mile from where you come into view and time you, slipping on behind you as you pass!

Bridge around Johnstone Bridge(sure its that) Services, before Moffat slip road, camera van on bridge.

Unmarked cars of various types, I'm sure someone will update these!

Why not stick to the limit?

  12. I hate mobiles but adore the iPhone, great little thing.

There really are no downsides to it, and come summer it will be even better!

Texting is a piece of cake, the keyboard is very good.

    It certainly is no gimmick.

There are lots of protective covers out there, don't use one myself though, just a skin.

Is this a new version coming out, as GrantR says, that's gonna make it even better?
