  1. Seem to have seen a lot of Scoobies around the Lanark area recently. How many of you are there out here?

Not sure if we should broadcast exact locations but it would be interesting just to see how many of us there are.

I've been to a few Glasgow meets and it's great to see folk, the runs are great too, but it's 45mins to Hillington on a good day and it's about £20 in fuel for the return journey so not ideal if things are tight money wise and time is always tight for me!

How would anyone feel about having a sort of sub meet around Lanark, maybe for those who can't make it to Glasgow or have an actual South Lanarkshire monthly meet based in or around Lanark?

Hope noone thinks I'm trying to step on any toes, or steal any thunder, it's purely a suggestion. There are a lot of good roads accessible from a 'Lanark' meet(if you can avoid the pot holes) and maybe this is something others have thought of and never brought up?

As I said it's only a thought, what's everyone's view local to Lanark?

I'm gonna just start a list so we can see who's where and who would consider a Lanark meet:

    1/ badbaz - 1/2mile from Lanark - yes to a Lanark meet

  2. Spotted you on the M74 just at junction7 where the "look at us eejit traffic cops" were sitting on the hard shoulder trying to catch those in a rush, was half passed you when I realised, looking good! I was in me Skoda so didn't bother waving! Are you taking it to the next meet Grant?

Did the STi following you have big, or wide alloys on, they seemed to look different somehow, were they dark coloured, lowered suspension or something?

  3. Did I just hear correctly?

    Subaru withdrawn from WRC?

What will happen to prodrive? Will they run private ones? Gronholm comeback?

Oh dear. Next year will be the FORD World Championship. Oh, and those pesky Citroens!!

  4. Neither windows replaced, not by me anyway. They are etched with chassis number as per side windows so although this could have been re-done, it points to them being original. There are no other signs of them being changed.

Doesn't sound good if craigdmcd you are not having any joy with paint warranty.

How do you keep up your paint warranty, surely if you've had the car in for services as per the schedule the paint thing shouldn't be missed out?

Which dealer is your problem with Craig?

  5. When giving the car a good going over before The McRae Gathering I noticed that the windscreen and rear window rubbers have rubbed through the roof paint :( and it's starting to bubble with rust at some points. :crying: Cars three year warranty expires in a week and it being only three years old I'm a bit miffed at this. :icon_butt:

Is this a common problem with the Impreza?

    Anyone had paint issues?

  6. All the organisers and helpers/contributors did so so well. Had a great time and felt so much pride to take part in such a massive tribute to a much missed character.

There was not an accessible bridge en route that didn't have people waving/filming/clapping/displaying flags or banners. My horn was sore by the time we got to Banbury.

Brilliant success and inspired decision to organise it in the first place.

Jimmy must have been touched as he stood at Douglas Road End watching us file past. His son is a true legend.

    :thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::D:angry:B):D

  7. I can't recommend anyone as I do my own/family/friends cars but recently there was a company working out of Larkhall advertising quite a bit - but I have NO idea if they are any good ?? OBT or ABT...something like that.

Depending on what you had wanted done I could've helped out not being that far away, but given there's not much time till the Gathering it's a bit tight for me plus you're looking for someone to come to you. Kinda a hobby like thing before you think I do this as a profession !!

You must be keen. I can't be bothered with mine just now, it was left near some bushes when I stayed at a friends house and it seems to be covered in some sap, needs polished. Would like it done by someone else, someone who can be identified as reliable and preferably been used previously to vouch for this.

Had one previously done by a franchise and was a tad let down to be honest by the results.

  8. The scoob is out of warranty in September and I've had an offer in to extend it for one or two years.

What's the recent views on this and has anyone taken and or used it?

Does it cover the same as the original 3 year one? How much are rear shocks as mines already had two and I hear the same sounds begin again. Surely it'll be easier to sell on with this(presuming it's transferable with the car)?

  9. Car was fine with original, just fancied the VTA one to go with the overrun banging and the rally decals, the whole package if you like, childish I know, but the car is not discreet to start with.

So, the new one on with red spring, no dump, this is bad as can wreck turbo I believe, red out, blue in and it dumps, not loud, but does dump. The thing is the car is differnet to drive now, it's more eager under light throttle and I'm wonder if my recirc one was done? Anyway, there's got to be a science to setting it correctly so who can tell all?

  10. Can anyone advise on the best way to obtain the correct setting of this valve using the springs/shims? What's the correct way to achieve this? I take it you need a boost gauge to aid set up but can't get my head round getting it right!

My thinking is to get it a couple of notches above where it would leak under load but this isn't easily measured as far as I can see!

    Help!

PS It's fitted to an Andy F mapped 05 STI, tried the red spring but it wouldn't dump, it's now got the blue spring it came with in and it dumps but want to be sure all's well. Any tips? :P

  11. I think the main gripe we have in the UK is the amount the government TAXES us on fuel, not Oil Company Profits.

Does anyone know what the government makes in fuel tax per year. More importantly how much that has increased (or maybe decreased) in relation to everything else, inflation etc.

The £3billion going into Northern Rock could have been used to discount V-power. For Scooby owners only obviously!

  12. Use it everyday, commute only being half a mile, most miles at nights and weekends, been to Thruxton, Snetterton and Milton Keynes recently, oh and Blackpool too with kids. 14k in 12 months. It's far from economical but I think it's the most comfortable seat of any long distance car I've owned. If only they ran on water. . .

Of course it would be Perrier. It would have to be!

  13. oh and if "This maybe need to be given annual status" means doing this every year.... there's no chance in h3ll we're doing this again, we'll be knackered after this one

this is a one off event

:P a bit defeatest that! I AM kidding. You should all be knighted, or given free subarus at least!!

  14. Bit in yesterdays Autosport about the Gathering. Not hidden in the national section either, right in the WRC section!

    Respect to the organisers :P

This maybe need to be given annual status after the reaction you are getting!

  15. Ok, Ferodo it will be then. Always been happy with Ferodo for general fitment to any make/model so performance ones hopefully will follow on in that vein!

Any recommendations on where to buy at a good price, and/or a part number for 2005 Sti(front)?
