  1. or mine!!
  2. If I didn't know better, I would have said it was April 1st......
  3. Saw a white classic Impreza with blue flash in Forest Hill this morning just after 10am. I caught you too late to wave mate. I was in the green classic coming out of David's Road
  4. Sparkling and clean??? Well, sometimes! That's an old picture, before I got her Since then, she's had bigger injectors, bigger fuel pump, bigger turbo, de-cat exhaust, forged pistons and rods and a FMIC fitted. Like yours, mine was a Turbo 2000 AWD, but now she's pushing a nice 350bhp. I'm in the Bromley area and just attended my first Kent Scoobies meet, but would be nice to get to a few London ones too if they're local. Martin
  5. Hey, cool! At least I'm not the only one then!

    Tyres

Baser Nice to meet you yesterday at Notcutt's. If you've still got them, I'm interested in them. Martin
  7. I realise the original orders are now closed but is it too late for an extra order? I am in the south east London area like Baser999 and could easily post a cheque to cover the shirt and postage if it's not too late?
  8. Condolences to the family may be left here..... http://www.colinmcrae.com/condolences.asp
  9. Where was this then? I have met her and got her autograph.... twice! And I quite agree. Gorgeous :-)

    Oil Leak

1500 miles ago, mine was in theory a brand new engine as I had forged pistons, rods, etc so I can't believe a seal has gone already ....
  11. Peeps I have a minor oil leak on the underside of the left hand bank (as viewed from the driver's seat), but only when the engine is running. It appears to be coming from above the sump return pipe. Any ideas what's up there? I assume it's seeping through a gasket on the head? There is no oil in the water so don't believe it's serious.....yet! If so, can anybody advise what the bolts there need to be torqued up to, and in what order? Any other suggestions where the oil could be coming from? Any advice gratefully received! Martin
  12. I normally fill up at Shell Bromley Common. They're charging 101.9p at the moment, but I would save nothing by driving further to get the fuel because of the extra mileage, plus this garage is on the road to/from work so is very convenient.
  13. Finally, it's on a day when I am not working and have got my car back. If somebody could kindly post directions from the A20, that would be much appreciated. Martin
  14. I have recently had my car uprated with various modifications and am now keen to see what she'll do. However, I do not want to put other's in danger around me, nor come a cropper with the old bill. I've had my car around Brands Hatch but, simply, it's got no real straight to talk of and I only got to 115mph on the main straight when I know (don't ask!) she'll go way faster than this. Has anybody got any suggestions where I can push the car to the limit without putting my licence and other road users at risk?
  15. Talking of MPG, what are people generally getting? My car has been uprated to about 380bhp and I'm getting around 20mpg . Anybody else care to comment?
  16. I'm about. God I'm bored! Desperately seeking stimulation (of a mental kind!)...... Help!!!
  17. WxxxUMO black classic WRX in Bromley Common tonight about 9.30pm. Putting us all to shame driving like a tw @ t, weaving about like his steering was knackered [:@]
  18. I still think it looks like a Ford Focus......
  19. I was thinking abotu doing a similar thing. Now I've got my power output up to around the mid 300s, I was thinking I might "bling" up the engine bay a bit so you're not the only one. Let me know if you find any good deals out there. Martin
  20. I'm getting quotes of around £1300-1500 for the two panels. Car is being collected Monday so at least the wheels are in motion to get it all sorted :-) Martin
  21. I live in College Road, opposite the old BMW dealership. Don't know if you are near that?
  22. Just seen a nice WRX STI Jxx SUB heading s/bound on A21. Followed it from Bromley Hill down to Farnborough. You've got a nice sounding motor there mate
  23. Does anybody know what the charged air temperature is roughly coming out of the intercooler? Is it lower than the ambient temperature in the engine bay? I'm just thinking that if the engine bay is lower, lagging the pipe could have the wrong effect and retain heat rather than repel it. Martin
  24. As some of you may be aware, I've this week taken possession of my uprated car, pushing out around 380bhp. During the work, it's been fitted with a front mount intercooler, with the air pipe going down the offside front, across the bottom and returning up the n/s/f corner past the battery and oil filler cap back to the engine. The pipe is aluminium. Does anybody know if it will make any noticeable difference if I lagged the pipe from the intercooler up to where it feeds into the engine. I am wondering because obviously as soon as the air leaves the intercooler and passes around the engine, it's warming up again. Would lagging help keep the air temp down and thus produce more power? Martin
  25. Well, the near side doesn't look too bad..... Sadly, the offside is not quite so good. Can anybody recommend a good bodyshop in the Bromley/Orpington area. I'm thinking of possibly trying to get them to just settle it private so it doesn't affect my no claims. Also, anybody got any ideas on what I can do with that numberplate. I really don't like it there!
