  1. How did they try? I'm always telling folk about the fishing rod through the letter box trick and to have the keys away from the door. If you have one, keep the house alarm on at night. It's those little things that only take a minute to do that you sometimes can't be bothered with that might make the difference. My car always goes straight in the garage (lucky to have one) with a steering lock, Tracker, garage locked and a Garage Defender that they would have to pull concrete up to get rid of. Hopefully I'd hear that!!!!!
  2. Not good. When you say the police aren't interested, do you know if they've been told? We get that a lot, 'What you doing about etc etc'. When we say we didn't know and ask if they had phoned in, they would be like, 'Well, don't like to grass' etc At the start of each shift, things like stolen cars are read out to the shift so I'm sure they would be interested....especially the traffic. We also have an intelligence database that action plans for such things can be based upon. They obviously need caught!
  3. Cheers Peter, that's obviously what I meant! Could you not tell! Also, as Cal said, it wasn't the flexi one! With regards to what I want....I'm 'pretty sure' I won't be getting an uprated turbo or headers done etc as my wife would know about this and it would be a lot of money that I couldn't get away with spending. Andy F had mentioned a turbo upgrade but it's not a financial option. I'm looking to spend a wee bit here and there....ie £140 for the centre section...£90 for the uppipe etc. As far as the exhaust goes, I had thought....centre section then uppipe and that would be that. Keep the sports cat on. So, would having that done, and only that, warrant a re-map/cause potential damage? I can't plan ahead due to cash etc so if in a years time I did fancy more, I'd have to worry about that at the time. Good answers as always. Cheers folks.
  4. Mmm, should I leave it with the downpipe for now then or could I at least get the centre section done as well?? I've had the Walbro uprated fuel pump put in already. I guess I was just wanting to get as much out of the car as I could for the least money! I thought, "£140 for a centre section....why not!". The cost of the re-map is obviously a different matter rather than £140 here and then £90 for the up pipe later. Mind you, I guess it could be more expensive if things go wrong...............and then I'd have to explain to my wife!!!! I'd planned to spend the potential re-map money on front/rear arb's and droplinks first because again I could get them over a couple of months before getting it all fitted at once. decisions, decisions I always tell myself...."It's the fastest car you've ever driven....YOU DON'T NEED IT TO BE ANY FASTER!!!!".............but I never listen!!
  5. Hi folks, Thought I'd throw this out to the forum before I do something daft! Basically, my car started with the PPP exhaust and so far I've been to Meercat and had the Snakehead downpipe with a sports cat. I'm planning to go back to get their straight through centre section and was talking to Wullie about their up pipe. He described it as being more rally without using flex? Two parts that fit together loosely but expand in the heat and make a tight fit? Probably the worst description in the world!!! So, I wondered if I could safely do this without needing a re-map? Will I cause overheating? Am I ok because I've kept the sports cat? From reading old posts, I kind of got the impression that I would definitely need a re-map if it was a fully decatted system? I was hoping to get a re-map through the group buy but £460 is quite a lot to think about and I e-mailed Andy who said I'd only see a gain of about 20bhp, but if I was going to do any damage with the exhaust changes I'd either get the re-map or not do the changes. Cheers
  6. Don't think they do the geometry but I'm sure Greers would be able to recommend somewhere good. Greersport - 01505 683 388 (in Glengarnock)
  7. Hello and welcome. Tell us more about the car. Did you get the PPP put on it? Need the Scooby burble!!!
  8. Hello and welcome. Wagons rule!!!
  9. Was it you in Dumbarton on Friday (couldn't post before now!). I was in my MY05 Crystal Grey wagon. You're car was blue and you flashed and waved near to Castlegreen St. I was heading into Dumbarton, you were leaving. Also, a bit further up the road, I came up behind a black MY55 with some nice mudflaps with WRX on them. You turned off as you leave Dumbarton for Cardross. Sure I saw a SIDC sticker in the rear window. Had a few waves recently!
  10. For the cost of membership, I've saved that already after getting work done at Greers/servicing at S&S etc.
  11. Woohoo!!!! It's great to be back. Great job by all involved.
  12. I was indeed working. I thought they sounded great but my colleague just didn't understand! [:|]
  13. Think I had days of just going between my house and B&Q/Tesco on busy roads......mmm, yeah really boring! Thankfully the wife hasn't got me going to B&Q that often so it's fun 99.999999% of the time! If you're worried about the fuel, it's not the car to be buying!
  14. [] Hard to do!!?? I bet. Think I've managed about 280miles which I was pretty happy with. Having to take the Scoob to work (70 mile round trip) at the moment so I'm filling up every 4 days or so!!! [:'(] But....it's all good fun!
  15. Just passing through. Work in Helensburgh so always go to and from via the Cardross Road, unless I fancy a wee burn along the A82!! []
  16. Mine is a MY05 Crystal Grey. Nothing on it at all.....well, apart from the SIDC sticker!
  17. I also spotted him this morning on the way into Helensburgh. Were the pops and bangs just for me?? []
  18. Hey mate, If your car was the rally looking type....(I noticed Cusco decals)...then that was me! Car was looking v. nice. Lucky you weren't too close to see that mine needs a good wash!! [:$]
  19. Quality. Only got as far as page 6 before heading out but I'll take it up again later!!! I also skipped to the last few pages and see that people from other car clubs around the world have been on! Even from New Zealand!

  21. Nice. [Y] My ultimate aim (like a lot of us I imagine) is to pay Andy a visit. How much of an actual increase do you see after a visit? I've got a MY05 WRX with PPP and a decatted down pipe. Would I see much of an increase and would I be advised to do something else to get the most from the re-map? Cheers.
  22. Our traffic dept have new speed guns the size of hand held camcorders and are a lot more accurate than the old style. Think these ones can target the one car.
  23. Shocking. Can't believe the pictures!!! Especially as a fellow wagon owner!!! [:'(] Saying as I'm plod....I feel the need to defend the cops being 'useless'. Unfortunately in some cases, our hands are tied. In this instance we have 2 witnesses who are willing to give their version of events. All we can do it report the matter to the Procurator Fiscal and they/a trial will decide who's telling the truth. I've been to incidents and then taken statements from scumbags and then charged other people who I know didn't deserve it but I didn't have much choice. Scots law says you need corroboration, i.e 2 witnesses, so if they're willing to lie...hell mend them. If it went to court, I'm sure they wouldn't come across as credible. All the best on the right outcome! [Y]
  24. Ah....good point!!! [:$] [] But it is kind of off the main road..............and it's quite a big estate..............[*-)]
