  1. Hello and welcome. C'mon the wagons!!! [Y] How long have you had the car? Could you not speak to the person/garage you bought it from? Greers are great. You could pop over and someone would no doubt have a quick look for free. Then you can have a chat about what else they can do! My bank balance thought it was a great day when I found out I was about half a mile from Greers and 2 miles from Meercat exhausts!!!!! [:'(] [] If you do drive over and go into the industrial estate, they're near the Scotskil Joinery. They don't have a sign above their unit. Cheers.
  2. Shocking. Do these people have a plan and then just wait for a suitable car to come along? Great that you got away ok. Makes me glad I'm fairly rural and when I come home, the car goes straight in the garage...out of sight! Remember folks......when stopping at lights, leave yourself enough of a space between you and the car in front so you've got room to move if the need arises! We get that reminder on our polis driving....obviously don't have to worry about car jacking!!! Just if a hurry up call comes out!
  3. I was hoping that you're nearest garage might have a clue because mine didn't! Seems to be a common thing! After reading about V Power day on here, I asked at my local and I had a similar response. Two guys laughed and said, 'Oh, I don't think they would do that'....in reference to me explaining about V Power being the same price as unleaded. Hey presto.....V Power day about a week later!!!
  4. Colzo, Think it just seems to be luck! I've been to the garage and it had wee posters up saying that it was V Power day the following day or week. My 'local' has had 2 in the space of a couple of weeks!!! [] Just ask and hope they are in the know!
  5. richie what 1 is your car mate? paul your wheels look top class on ya car .are thay the same as you had on ya wagon? MY05 Crystal Grey wagon that was parked at the tyres.
  6. Had a good day. Good to meet some folk for the first time and enjoyed the drive up in convoy. Pity about the rain and me being a bit of a wuss and not getting the car down the strip [:$] (10/10 for effort in persuading me Nanaki). Hindsight is a wonderful thing and on the way home I was wishing I had done it, especially after seeing a lot of standard cars....including a Vauxhall Zafira..go down. At least it gives me an excuse to head up again!!! Peter - does the trophy have pride of place in your restaurant?? [] Jodie - good photos (glad to see my car in there! )
  7. Or speak to Gary at Keith Michaels (0208 288 0275). He wasn't bothered and said having Tracker fitted would only lower the premium by about £20 these days.
  8. Ah, I'm guessing you mean Shell Old Inns? Should've guessed the Shell garage would be an obvious meeting point! If so, I know where it is.
  9. In the original post - Subaru vs Volkwagen shootout - Fai17 asked me if I wanted to go in convoy. I haven't heard back from him so can I take it that this is the only one? If so, see you there. Any easy directions from Glasgow? I'll be starting off in Beith, along the A737 then onto the M8. Cheers
  10. Go go go....do you want to convoy up Richie??? BTW....we saw you yesterday coming back from Greers ...i was in G.Mac Crystal Grey STI and you waved.[Y] Convoy would be great. Thought nobody would ever ask [:$] I wave at everyone! Thought I would have remembered G.Mac's car though! Let me know the details for tomorrow.....just off out to fuel up!! You also have PM.
  11. Decisions, decisions! Will it be worth the 100 mile trip....one way!? To quote The Clash......Should I stay or should I go? [*-)] [H][Y] [st][li] [:'(]
  12. Weather forecast for Sunday doesn't look good. Having never been to Crail, how much rain will it take to call the whole thing off? I'm planning to head over from Ayrshire so am I going have to make my way, listening to the weather reports or if the BBC says it's chucking it down in the morning, will I just stay at home? [:'(] Also, what time is it supposed to be kicking off? Cheers
  13. For us dafties, can you tell us the secret please?!! [:'(] I can't seem to find it. I was going to PM Phil with my details but now he's saying not to PM him!!!! Cheers
  14. At Linwood....filling up for an early start tomorrow and I saw that they were advertising another V Power day tomorrow!!!! [:'(] Usual times of 8am-6pm but not early enough for me to fill up tomorrow!!! Not bad saying as they had one a week ago. Hopefully a regular thing!
  15. I have 215/45/17 Pirelli P7000's. Found the back end would pop out in the wet so was thinking they weren't the best tyres??? Currently run them at 31F/ 30R after speaking with Greers. Trying different pressures til I find the best! Had a look at the sticker in the car....it has them at 23/22!! Is that right!? With regards to handling.....is it better to have them too hard or soft?
  16. [] Unfortunately I have wife who wouldn't allow a full de-cat system. This way I don't have any MOT problems (if she ends up taking it in one day) and she can tell the Prodrive backbox is still there!! It's all about mods by stealth! What she can't see. She obviously wouldn't see that it's been re-mapped!!! Next on the list I think..... []
  17. Don't know what happened when I was posting! My PC threw a wobbly. This seems to be the only one left now.. With regards to the results....where the max allowed was 0.20%.....my reading was 0.08%. Another one (can't remember what) had a max allowed of 230ppm....reading was 6ppm and the lambda was allowed 0.97 - 1.03 and my reading was 1.01 so all within.
  18. [] It's not actually that bad. More of a noise when the turbo is spooling up but other than that it's ok. Safe!!!!!! []
  19. Hi folks, Was at Meercat today getting a decat downpipe. Got rid of two cats and replaced it with a sports 100 cell cat. Also kept my existing Prodrive backbox. Really happy with the results. Great job and big thanks to Scott and Willie. The car feels more responsive at lower revs with the turbo spooling nicely. This was a first for Willie as he's never fitted one of these before now. £370 all in. For those that are interested....maybe want to free up more horses but want to keep a cat, here are the results. Engine at fast idle CO2 test
  20. Mmm, still don't think I like it 'enough'. This picture reminds me of a Seat Ibiza...with a scoop. http://jalopnik.com/cars/super-s_gt-potent...reza-266208.php
  21. Quote from the article - "Inspired by the Toyota Corolla and BMW 1-Series" Says it all really.
  22. Cheers. Usually go to Linwood for my V Power so if I'm running low it's not too much of a detour! [Y]
  23. It seems like an 'independent' party might have reported you rather than the VW driver. Don't think he'd be that daft. If he was on his own, he wouldn't have corroboration against you. You, with your apprentice, had corroboration with regards to his manner of driving. I wouldn't worry. We get a lot of calls about people driving. People just wanting to report it. A lot of the time, the person is spoken to, might deny it or make out that it wasn't THAT bad and there would be insufficient evidence to proceed with anything anyway.
  24. Hello and welcome [Y]. Credit card at the ready!!!
