  1. I believe they fit yeah but I heard that the wiring is slightly different somehow.. not majorly easy to adjust Somethign about the clock being wired into it or something. The hawkeye STi' ones woudl rock.. Defi startup routin *drool* For the sake of interest here's a photo of my dash this morning: The needles light up nicely but as you can see round the top of the dial it's dull.. In fairness it's slighter easier to see in real life than in that photo Also that pinkness near thje fuel gauge isn't pink it's red like the rest of the dials.. dodgy photo..
  2. I see where you are coming from.. WHy are we all whinging about the cost of fuel... If I wanted a budget car I would not have bought an impreza.. I agree. .. tHe probem I have is not so much the cost of running the car (which naturally is inccreasing along with the price of fuel) but rather the last time the fuel prices went up to over 90p/liter the UK practically came to s standstill until something was done.. Yet for some reason which I really can't figure out we are seeing fuel prices over £1/liter and no one is doing anything!!!! Why!!!! That's more annoying than the general cost of fuel for the car, the fact that this time it's costing more than ever and the public dont seem to care as much... Besides I think at this time it's useful to let others in your area know where the cheapest source of V-power is.. With prices changing at least weekly we want hte best value for money!
  3. I tried changing the colour on my Bug WRX.. But it's not quite as simple as changing the colour of the bulb.. The plastic channels that the light passes through to light up the dials is actually green too.. So putting in a plain white bulb just shows green! Which sucks! What i've done for the moment is put in some red LED's which does override the green colour but it's quite a dull dashboard.. Still readable when dark but I'd much rather it was brighter.... Also the LCD displays still stay green they dont work too well with the red LED's end up with a red sunspot effect in the middle of the LCD and fading out to green. I did read a mod on the net somwhere where someoen took their dash apart and scrapped off all the green filtering stuff somehow to make it work.. If I could get my hands on a spare set of dials I'll give it a go. just don't want to do it on the current one... Failing that try and source a red dialled dashboard... I've been hunting for one for months, especially a blobeye one with the rev coutner in the middle! but no joy
  4. Your probably right.. the Blobeye WRX PPP was set to just over 1.25bar (18.73 psi on the ECU map) Just goes to show how much more is available from the Hawkeye WRX!! 24psi! LOL! Gowan! somebody try it!!! (No!! seriously DON'T!!!!!!) <Disclaimer - ScoUK will not be held responsible for anyone being daft enough to get that much boost from a TD04, not unless you have a fettish for flamthrowers under your bonnet> . o O (Just thought I'd better add this incase some dweeb reads this thread and get's ideas)
  5. Keith up to 108.9p Where are those F*%&*N blockades!!!!!
  6. Just filled up today at 273miles! That's with the 150mile Elgin run/meet last weekend!! Obviously wasn't trying hard enough...
  7. Hahaa!! Wish I'd seen this before the Elgin/Moray run.. Could have re-rcreated our own vid LOL!
  8. CooL! Was thinking of something like this: http://www.actioncameras.co.uk/ATC-2000.html Uses a memory card to store the video so no cables flapping around.. Decent quality too! 640x480 @ 30fps. Could get about an hour for a 2GB card. Can always take along the laptop and download the video when the card get's full I see you can get them on eBay too via the US for slightly less..
  9. Nice one Rich! Good choice of music track! Was thinking today how feasible it would be to attach a camera to the rear spoiler facing back without it falling off Thinking strapping it to one of the uprights with lots of tough masking tape!
  10. Ahhh actually I remember that car. Was going to buy it last year but it was just over my price range! Was up for sale at March Motors in Buckie IIRC for aroudn £8500-£9000 or thereabouts. Really was a stunning looking machine! Quite possibly best looking Impreza I'd ever seen.. If I coudl of afforded it I would have bought it.. I'm peed off that's it's ended up here! Such a waste!
  11. Ok got a little detail.. Not sure what direction they came from but possibly. West along Union Street. The Impreza bounced off the near side kerb (luckily not going over it into pedestrians) and bounced over the other side of the carraigeway hitting the two cars. Going over hte top of them because it was de-stabalised with hittign the kerb. What's even more lucky is that BMW is a convertible. and the owner just changed the soft top roof for a hard top roof last week!!! Talk about lucky!!! So yeah.. Impreza driver to blame!
  12. Good point! And normally I'd easily take the fence. But really.. If that's the section of road I think it is, the only vehicle even remotely out of place is the impreza.Loosk like the bus and the two cars were parked waitign at the lights only to be driven over by an Impreza! Clearly not at the legal speed limit! I'd think it's a fair chance the impreza driver is the one charged. In this circumstances even if the vectra dn BMW drivers were on the phoen with no seatbelt chances are they'd get let off for the seriousness of the accident!.. But I admit I "could be wrong! maybe the vectra and BMW drove under the Impreza at high speed and managed to keep on their on side of the road without what looks like any bumper to bumper damage. Ona different note.. Not that I'd drive BMW (flame suit on) but I'd be s**t scared if I was to see this car come right over the bonent on my roof! Probably came out of virtually nowhere.. Yeow! It's just another black mark for the impreza. and qutie a big one being front page news! It's events like this that make a newage cheaper to insure by about 10% I'll probably get a report of what happened tomorrow as it was likely to be an Elgin bus and my dad is one of the controllers there..
  13. heard the other day from ScoobyDoom that Elgin is @ £112.9 I think I'll be filling up in keith tomorrow for sunday's run
  14. I Usually get between 260 and 280. Fill up to the top after fuel light is on for abotu 20-30 miles or so. Last tank was 285miles Previous tank was 220 and that's because i was sitting in roadworks every day.. Managed to get around 360 miles out of it at one point travelling south on the motorways. It's more about how your drive and what sort of roads you regularly drive on.. 250 seems about average from what I can tell..
  15. Dont mean to ignore your advice so far But I'm leaning towards the TAR-OX pads at the moment.. Mainly due to price.. http://www.scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/produ...products_id=377 P/N should be PN2703 but if someone wants to correct me, please do! The thinking is that I was hoping to replace the discs and pads next year with a decent package and I just needs something to tide me over for now until then.. At which point I'd probably get some grooved discs and ferodo pads... Any bad points on Tarox stuff? Or is it just a case of there are better ones out there.. As long as it's not worse than standard pads I'm happy..
  16. Thanks for the replies! Just looked them up on scoobyworld! Yeow!! £159 just for fronts!! Expensive game this
  17. Need some ideas as to what brake pads are available for a bugeye WRX along with rough prices. Just doing a routine check over the car today and realised one of the front off side brake pads is dead (that woudl explain the squeaking I've been hearing recently ). So I'll be ordering a set of front brake pads today/tomorrow from somewhere.. What pads would you recommend? Want something that will be better than standard, hard wearing and cost effective! No need for a full brake upgrade at the moment as it's just the pads that need doing... Thanks,
  18. he hee.. It'll be faster!! That's just above WRX PPPv2 performance and although the smaller WRX turbo doesn't give out as much boost as the ones fitted on the STi it spins up quicker and gives you boost earlier.. You'll need to spend lots of ££££'s to get a faster accelerating car.. Turbo, injectors, fuel pump .. But it really goes to show just how restricted the standard cars are! Shame the STi has better suspension set-up
  19. Nice!! Good results from more or less standard spec!!! (excluding a cat or two) Bucket loads more torque tooo! P.s. The extra pull from the turbo get's addictive!!! Now it'll "feel" like a proper scooby!
  20. I've your gonna mod, just do the internals... exhaust/suspension/brakes e.t.c. I wouldn't touch the outside. I'm a great believer in keeping special edition imprezas the same as they were intended. They are already special and Will be worth much more untouched!! The yellow sports are great! There's one just along the road from me with a lady driver
  21. I got mine from http://www.rallyflapz.com/ they may be thinner than more expensive ones but they are much better quality that I expected. I've never had them fall off or tear or anything Cost is good too. I put my own prodrive logos on them though.. They do help reduce some of the crap that get's flung up. And if your out on a run the drivers behind you will be greatful As for colour: either the red (surprisingly it looks really smart on white!) or just black with white writing...
  22. I've always loved the look of the yellow sports! If I didn't want a turbo so much i'd have probably bought one
  23. 106.9p in Keith today! (and effectively 5p/litre off due to using shell credit card & another 53 points onto the drivers points. ) So glad I don't work just across the road from the shell in Elgin these days
  24. As the title says really:
  25. I wonder if that's the same flump I asked a few months ago and told me abruptly that no such system exists!! I admit, I was put off by that, knowing full well the seperate system existed, showed them details from clifford on the system and mentioned my bro already had the system fitted but they still insisted it doesnt.. . o O (Geez! I'm having a right ol' rant today.... need a drive... )
