Not sure where you are based, but mine will be going to DC Framers in Mollinsburn, just outside Cumbernauld. Reccommended by my parents and I have used them many times now, their work is always top notch. Always happy to spend time going though frame and mount options with you.

I am absolutely astounded at the price it has sold for.

Unfortunately, they have paid the £40 to buy it, so legally it is theirs and they are perfectly entitled to sell it on. Morally? Well that is a different matter entirely.

The amount of work that went into the organisation of the event itself together with the distribution of the raffle prizes, auction items, prints, not to mention the posters which are yet to come was incredible and it must a big kick in the balls for the McRae Gathering team to see a small minority profiting significantly from their hard work.

I think it is so out of order.

Now one has sold for that, I reckon that, unfortunately, we will see a good few more.

Unfortunately, it is just a reflection of the world in which we live. You saw it when Colin died, Ebay just filled up with stuff going for silly money. Despite there being some items that I would have given my right arm for, there was no way I would pay the money to people who simply saw the tragedy as a way of making a quick buck.

You could set up a spoof Ebay account and just sabotage the auction, but then that is just stooping down to their level.

As for my print and signed shirt from the auction, I would never even think of selling them, never mind to make a profit. They will be getting framed and will be taking pride of place on the wall and as part of my collection of memorabilia for many years to come.

Used Greers a few times now, largely for routine servicing. Always been very happy with them.

That is the saloon version of the WRX available in the USA and I think now Austrailia.

We aren't getting it, nor are they getting it in Japan.

I have two cars, both insured on separate policies. Multi car policies cme out more expensive.

2002 Impreza WRX is insured through KM. Pay around £680 fully comp with business class 1 and I think 6 years NCB, and I do around 8k a year in it. (I am 29)

1996 Pug 106 Diesel is insured though Bell Direct. Pay round £240 fully comp with business class 1 and just 1 years NCB, and I do around 10k a year in, mainly commuting and business use.

The 106 pays for itself. In terms of insurance, if I did 18k miles a year in the Subaru and declared that annual mileage to the insurance company, the premium would go up by about £200. Also costs buttons to run, compared to commuting in the Subaru.

Cracking looking motor.

Not much a a car history for me in my 10 years of driving.

1st car was a Vauxhall Astra 1.6 SXI which I bought in 2001

Kept until 2006, racking up about 90k on it, then bought my 2002 WRX which I still have today

Running costs were more than I ever expected so in 2007 I bought a Pug 106 1.5 Diesel as cheap commuter and I still have it today.

Strathclyde Police have been shopping then!!

Must look out for it!

Not been to an RAC Rally, err, Rally GB if you must , since the last time it visited Kielder. In fact hadn't been to any WRC event since then until last year when I went across to Rallye Deutschland.

No plan to go to Wales but more likely than not to go to Ireland. Really want to go to Finland in the next year or two though.

We have just sold my girlfriend's flat, and I am charged with picking up the cheque from the solicitors. I wonder if she will notice if it is a little short?

In my last house, I had a problem with the local cats using the gravel area outside the front door as a big litter tray. I found spreading some cat repellent about worked a treat in keeping them away - yes you do get such stuff, normally next the slug pellets and rat poison in B&Q.

Saw this yesterday, thought it pretty poor. What puzzles me is that it is just a random sticker, not a replica of the official one. Who would even buy it?

I do about 8k to 9k a year with my Bugeye and have an extra oil change done halfway between yearly services. Costs about £70 for fully synthetic oil and filter at an independant.

Should really learn how to do it myself!

I half looked at another Scoob when I got my cheap runner, but as Gus says its not cheaper enough to justify as a second cheap runabout.

So instead, I went with a Pug 106 which I picked up from the classifieds about 18 months ago. It is a 1.5 XLD and is as slow as anything. I get out accelerated by Transits with ladders on the roof, but it gives me almost 60mpg on my commute and did almost 12,000 miles last year just commuting, business use and local trips. It did cost £900 but then only had 19k on the clock. Owned by a pensioner who went to the shops twice a week, and once to Blackpool!

Costs me about £240 to insure fully comp with business class 1 use. Other than routine servicing brakes and tyres, all I have had to do to it in 18 months is an ignition barrel, radiator and electrical relay when the brakes lights stopped working. Only current problem is the airbag light.

Firstly, welcome!

To be honest, once any car is that age, I wouldn't take it to a main dealer. Find an independent that you are happy with and hear good recommendations about. You mention Hypertech. Not used them myself as I tend to use Greers in Glengarnock as I am over that way but you will find nothing but praise on here, and I am sure many happy customers will be along to confirm soon.

I also have a 2002 WRX and up until the last (6 year) service, it had a full main dealer history. However, for exactly the same 6 year service, it was about 45% cheaper to go to an independent.

Re-sale wise, if it has been serviced by the book and has the full history to back it up, I can't see much effect on the re-sale value.
