  1. I know mate, wouldn't do it myself but it's a company car / bus so he's no too bothered. Think if he makes a right pig's a.rse of it he'll get it done properly . Craig
  2. Cheesr Iain, wisna aware they even had that service The only thing I tend to go to halfrauds for is screen wash and airfreshners Craig.
  3. I know peter, but do they supply aerosol cans ?? Re. the match quality, the dealer would be best but think they just give you the paint in wee tins ?? Craig.
  4. Cheers lads, will pass the knowledge on Craig.
  5. Bake our own !!!!
  6. Congrats Kev on yir new role. Wasnae too sure if abody was just winding ya up aboot taking the position - sorry for the late message Craig.
  7. I know that 60%-ish is tax and ultimately we will just end up paying what it says at the forecourt, but I've read countless post re. petrol prices now and just end up feeling fecking frustrated that I/we can do nothing at all. Surely by carrying out a fairly easy exercise like this that costs us nothing is worth at least trying ? I'm a believer that you have no right to complain if you're willing to do nothing about the situation, all this is is an oppertunity for the moaners to feel like their in control in some way (like me ). End of the day I'm sick of saying to myself "ach someone else will do something about it", just fecking hate get shafted like we do and just having to take it !! Craig.
  8. Howdy abody, A mate in work fell victim to the 'trolley ding' last night with his forester. He was going to give it a wee go trying to fix it himself. Does anyone know where to go to get a decent matched spray can mixed up (his car's a kind of metalic winey red ) in or around the dundee area ?? Cheers folks, Craig.
  9. Alright people got this from Cusco Kid, I'm right up for it : "See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it We are hitting 106.9 p a litre in some areas now, soon we will be faced with paying £1.10 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea: This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the 'don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of >an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work. Please read it and join in! Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take a ggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea: For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP. If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!! Now, don't wimp out on me at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!! I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... .. THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!! Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on. PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 69p a LITRE RANGE It's easy to make this happen. Just forward this email, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e. boycott BP and Esso" Craig.
  10. As per 'Scientific Steve' and G.Mac Craig.
  11. They're good tyres mate got T1-R's myself, pretty confidence inspiring Craig.
  12. Nice example Chris, had one myself would definitely return to that fold again if funds permitted. Engines are bullet proof as long as they're not abused. Check the coolant condition - this time of year an all that. They're meant to have pure toyota coolant, no diluting with water !! Think the stuff I bought was red if this helps. If you've got the funds invest in a good set of tyres, they're as light a feather up front and obviously a.rse happy I was a member of www.mr2oc.co.uk, was a pretty useful forum. Need any more info geez a shout, Craig.
  13. Just noticed your thread there mate, where are you based ? I'm sure Hectyre here in dundee could get them but were a wee bit dearer than Camskill when I enquired. I tell ye, their courier needs a kick up the a.rse; I ordered 4 x T1-R's to be delivered to hectyre for fitting - the plonker dropped off 2 of them and delivered the other 2 at another garage in fife ???? Hope you get sorted mate. Craig.
  14. Thanks Russell, but just forked out for some brakes there - it was a decision between more grunt or being able to stop ha ha. At least I definitely know which direction I'm going in terms of turbo choice. When I revive the bank balance I'll drop ya a pm to see if you can help me. Craig.
  15. Another T1-R fan here. Much better than the std bridgestones. Good call with Camskill Neil, they were the cheapest I could find aswell Craig.
  16. Sorry craig, didnae quite word that clearly, it's just the std td04 but Andy's done his stuff so getting a bit more out of it. What I mean is I love the response of the tdo4 so keeping optimum boost as low as possible would be what I'm aiming for. Thanks everyone for your input, looks like the vf35 is still the turbo of choice albeit I'll have to either track one down thats been ported or get it done maself. Craig.
  17. Jimser, Cheers mate, that's exactly what I was on aboot !!! Was certain it was someone on here, ach well must be the the senile dementia lol. George, Thanks for the heads up mate will do a wee bit o investigating into that stuff. Craig.
  18. Been trying to find a particular thread about someone who made a brilliant job of repainting their brembos. The two front calipers were sitting on a kitchen worktop I think and were painted a gloss black. Can anyone remember who did this, Cheers abody.
  19. Thanks lads, tbh the quicker the spool the better, coming from a slightly tweaked td04. I think I'd take bad with full boost coming in at 3.5 rpm or there abouts. Could live with 3k rpm which is in the realm of the vf35 me thinks ?? As you said Russel the car's got a 7k limit so I'd obviously be minimising the rev range. Craig.
  20. Been trawling through the previous posts trying to find a definitive answer. There seems to be a wee bit of conflicting info. On an '03 wrx with the usual Andy F. mods and a 2.5" system which turbo would better suit the 'B' road usage and achieve the 300 ~ 350 mark. Been kinda inspired by Cal's achievement. Really wouldn't take the car any further than this for reliability reasons - it's the day to day car. Sorry for the millionth post re. this folks. Craig.
  21. Greetings, bet the new mota feels a tet quicker than a furio eh lol Craig.
  22. Must admit to getting a few waves but there is always that one time when you've got the missus in the car and you wave only to be greeted with a BLANKED response ha ha. She always just turns and says "bet you feel a right t**t now eh !! " Craig.
  23. Result mate !! Seems to be the going rate though - £100 / 10bhp, doesnae sound as bad when you word it like that. I just keep tellin' maself " you cannae take it wi ya, you cannae take it wi ya" ha ha ha Enjoy your revitalised car mate. Craig.
  24. Nice clean example there mate. My opinion - keep it subtle, don't go daft you'll just ruin it Welcome to the forum by the way !! Craig.
  25. Just being nosey here mate but why were you letting the car idle for that amount of time ? Craig.
