Hi everyone, A friend of mine just picked up a very nice '05 WRX STI replica. The previous owner said that he has swaped the standard ECU with an STI ECU. To my mates kwowledge he hasn't had it mapped. I don't know but does this sound right - just strapping another ECU to the car and away you go (doesnae sound right to me) ???

With all this great weather, was wanting to give the paint a bit of TLC. All I tend to use is a fairly bog standard car shampoo and then chamois. I've got the typical stone chipping on the front of the bonnet and was wanting to cover these up as best as (without a pricey respray). What products does everyone use to to get the best out of the thinest paint know to man[]. Think I read that someone used a blue T Cut to fill the stone chips then polished it off - could be wrong?? Know exactly how you're felling mate. Parked my much loved mr2 in the street to nip into the house for something, gets a phone call from a neighbour that they think someone's just drove into my car. So I flee doonstairs, here you have it, drivers front totally mangled and a f ucking corsa abandoned 10 yds past mine in the middle of the road - no driver. Police caught him - already banned, nicked the grans car and was beltin' around the town[:@] I was only TPFT so had to fork out a grand to fix it, eventually sold it for £1500, f ucking gutted so I was!! When you look after your motor there is nothing worse[:'(]

As above everyone, no quite sure how to clean the thing. Don't know if you're meant to clean them with oil based products like K&N's or just whack it a few times to get rid of the dust and muck ?? Cheers, Craig.

The basics that were suggeted to me were the same as what you have at the mo apart from me having a 255 walbro fuel pump and a decatted high flow d/pipe (for MOT time). I know that a full decat is of greater benefit but it's the hastle of crawling under the car every year. Suppose it all depends on how deep the pockets are ?

I've seen blobeyes with the new skirts - is this an STI thing ???. I take it that the more slender skirts came in sooner than '06 then[:$]. Sorry higgy should have been clearer - don't have to be '06 skirts, basically the skinnier ones ?? Craig.
