-
God damn it man chage the thread name.... You had me thnking of metal wraped round trees there and other nasty things. So its not a loud beast anymore but.... is it quicker? []

Yeah it was a good night. The run was fun, nice roads those... pity about the other traffic. Food was great and as always squirrels banter had us all wondering if we should phone the people with the funny white jackets...[] Anyways it was great to see some of you again, and some of you for the first time (mainly our two new american friends) Hope you guys enjoy the rest of your holidays and keep in touch. P.s Getting back to Kilmarnock when they close the Kingston Bridge is not fun!!!!! [O]
-
please also remember, that as an american what he knows of as beer is in fact a lager and a real beer would probably shock his system. Might be tempted to go out tomorrow. Not sure.

Had a red new age, think it was a bug eye, behind me on the way home from work. male driver with a female pasanger I think. I was the debadged silver classic in front of you.
-
Ok so I had the car washed this afternoon and by the time I got home due to the lovely road works near my house I now have a load of muck up the doors. Question is where should I get them and how much am I looking at paying? Ebay looks so much cheeper than elsewhere but does anyone know anything about them?
-
Could the rear spolier on that be any uglier... now the rest of the car does look like what it is supposed to. A very nice hatchback (which when completly debadged will make one hell of a sleeper) but the wing on that is ruining the whole thing.
-
He'll be back. No way he would let this get the better of him. Get well soon mate.
-
yeah its about that down here as well. problem I have though is the kilmarnock shell hasn't had v power in weeks now. I'm having to make a 42 mile round trip to paisley for fuel.

when I was really young it was a car mechanic for me.... No. Then went to high scholl and got into art so I thought maybe an architecht.... No. Then I saw the high school music studio and fell in love with all the equipment. Passed higher music with the only A in the class that year. Went to uni in Paisley for 3 years and studied music technology hoping to either work in live sound at gigs or in a recording studio. So what did I do i graduarted... BSc with distinction and wait for it....... got a job in a call centre baby yeah!!!! However during those 3 years i got into computers, built some pc's and started running lan parties in Ayr. They became my passion. I would always try and get everything out of every PC I worked on. Can build em, repair em and overclock them now like it was second nature. 16 months after graduating and I'm still in the call centre. Only lasted 3 weeks on the phone though. I now work in IT running dialler systems and desktop support. Also developing my knowledge of networks and databases. Would like to be a network admin some day and from there maybe own my own company doing netowork installations and computer repairs / builds. Sad but hey i love computers. I might not have been so far wrong though as a young boy about the mechanic bit. I'm now reading everything i can find on how my subaru works.

What is the fastest you have ever had your car ?
nanaki replied to craig mac's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Only engine mod I have is a dump valve and i got it to 152ish on the speedo. 146 on the S.E.C.S unit. GPS showed 146 as well. Not in a hurry to do that again till i get some improvments done to the car. -
I warm you.. the phrase have a nice day can reallly get to you after the first couple of days. However have a great time. Just remember there speed limits are a bit more limiting that ours (although the automatics make driving a breeze / bore)
-
Do you commute via a car ? Yes Do you take your Scooby ? Only car I have so yeah. How many miles do you commute to work ? 24 miles round trip. How long does it take you ? Bout 15 mins.... sometimes less. My shifts mean traffic is never really a problem. Do you ever take a long way home ? Via some mates occasionally...

Ok all jokes aside (although granted some of those pics were pretty funny) I have already donated previously to this organisation (as have a few others I know, this all started off as a lost bet but thats beside the point) regarding saving scotlands forrests. http://www.treesforlife.org.uk A group effort where we all donate and then send a big check is one way of doing it or those of you who feel its worthwhile could still donate on your own and get your own tree. I'm sure if someone was to contact them regarding the possibilty of a Scotlands Scoobies Tree Grove they would not be opposed to the idea, it just wouldn't be the norm. Wether you believe in the balancing of carbon emmisions (which work out at about 10 trees for 12 thousand miles a year) is one thing however saving one of scotlands geat forrests is something I'm sure you will all agree is worth doing. Any takers?

THE BEST/WORST/FUNNY EXPERIENCE IN YOUR SCOOB
nanaki replied to Gumball's topic in Scottish Scoobies
BEST EXPERIANCE Definatly going on the run there with you lot, only had the car since the 8th and already I got a change to push it pretty much as far as it goes (based on current spec of course) WORST EXPERIANCE Dare I say it I havn't really had one yet... appart from the ludicrus amount of petrol I've gone through since I got it as I've spent far to much time having fun. FUNNIEST EXPERIANCE That would be the day after i got the car on the way home from a crappy football game against the pars. We were stuck in a queue of traffic, about 5 cars back, doing 30 mph on a clear road that I could see for about a mile ahead and no body was overtaking the slow car (limit was 60). When my dad said I can't understand why nobody is passing this person I just said, fine we will. Quick downshift and the turbo kicking in later and we were ahead of everyone in about 20 seconds. This was a rather squirrel paced over taking manuver. After I let the revs drop a little my dad turned and looked at me and said - don't be doing that to often - he was trying so hard to contain his giant grin while trying to give me into trouble. He failed and started laughing. Oh well. I'm sure I'll have plenty of good and bad moments over the next few years with this car. -
lol. from way back thar? you mean aberdeen? []
-
No that was just me being lost, didn't realise I needed to be in left lane and instead of cutting in front of other scoobies I just did a once round the roundabout and took the correct exit. No fun in racing a corsa anyway []
-
nice vid, going to be some collection we all have after this run.
-
plenty suicidal sheep all round then... Notice - "no sheep were hurt in the making of this run."
-
Yeah thats kind of a key item... have fun hunting quotes. As for me I've been reliably informed that my car is to quiet after todays run so I think the stock backbox is going to have to go. Now where did I lock up that credit card....... [:S]
-
If you were in the spirited group then that would have been me. So a fun day was had all round... hell of a 'spirited' way to break in a car I've only owned 9 days. Highlight for me.... the initial up and down hills just after we left. Getting all 4 wheels off the ground at once at one of those small bridges (entirly unintentional and crapped myself at the time but now I look back and think of it as fun) Managing to keep the back of the car under controll (ish, ok... ish) as it clearly was getting away from me at some points, especially the new wet tarmac (or skid pan) Oh yeah and of course meeting you all was also a blast. Thanks to all who organised it and I can't wait for the next one. Although I think my car will be greatful of the breather. Ian. (the guy with the bad hair, worse beard and a <geek> tee-shirt)
