Cheers, realised it was full of torque when it almost lifted itself up off the rollers at only 2000rpm (extra 2 straps duly fitted). S**t myself for a second but the dyno runs are well worth it to realise mod benefits and to know you are heading in the right direction! 320lbs/ft at 3200 rpm (handy for daily driving) VF34 and bigger intercooler next!

Ferries??? Im cutting it fine to get in the garage? Prodrive springs, std. wheels with HT Auto splitter.

Think the temptation of that Whiteline short throw kit plus discount could mean a wee trip back down to you guys! As long you guys promise not play with the foam extinguishers again! -
Hee Hee! Sorry bud, but its all good, so good!!

The std's one were laughably thin!! Front was only around 17mm and rear about 15mm, definetly front slightly thicker than front as std. which ended up in loads of understeer. To be honest I was gutted when I first got the car with regards to std. handling for a hawkeye WRX, I took it back thinking something was wrong. So the Whiteline setup was one of my very first mods, and definetly reccommend it. I have put 22mm fixed ARB on the front and an adjustable 24mm ARB on the back, so the soft setting on the back ARB gives perfect balance (cant seem to loose it try as I much on the roundabouts) but I can fix it up a notch for a bit of oversteeer fun when required. Definetly do the droplinks (which incorporates their own bushes) too, again I used the whiteline steel "S" shape ones, you can get the hardcore "C" shape one but were more costly and maybe more suited to track use. Andy from AWD Perth had a quick run in the car and seem quite impressed with handling, he thought the ARB's and the droplinks were doing more "handling" work than the springs too.
-
Yeh, prodrive springs and whiteline anti roll bars have changed the cars handling to match the power too!

Graph Added below 345lbs/ft of torque! Thats just under a 100lbs/ft more than std. Yippee!!!! (graph... to do, wont work at work!!! ) Chargespeed splitter will be one of them in the pics at bottom of this page... Chargspeed Spliiter Exhaust thats fitted is H&S bellmouth full decat downpipe (2 part to allow for easy fitment of cat), fitted by AWD Perth, Scoobyworld 2 1/2" centre section and custom made 2 1/2" back box, air filter is green cotton panel filter but have also installed a Moto GP air intake elbow (does away with the silencer and creates a more direct air feed), can hear the turbo spooling up louder too, plus prodrive Y hose. Loads of other handling goodies too.
-
Cheers for comments guys, just to get a chargespeed front splitter sorted out and that's me done with the outside. Thereafter, brakes then gauges..... And maybe a short throw kit too.....I'm sure the list will go on if I try hard enough too! LOL!
-
Firstly, New brakes required! OMG! What a different machine. Secondly, Im glad I never went for the VF34 turbo ugrade, yet! I Would have parked my car in god knows how many boots of cars in fornt of me, especially coming off roundabouts! lol! Anyway, 2.5 WRX now with approx 273bhp, and 345lbs/ft of torque at only 3200 revs with a std. TD04, makes the daily drive a hoot as 3200 revs is where im often at! Thats just under a 100lbs/ft more than std. Yippee!!!! Std. figures are 233bhp and around 249lbs/ft of torque. Thats a big jump! Did get it mapped using 97RON as car is daily user and cant reallly justify running V Power all of the time (prob would have added around 10bhp). Will get graph scanned and put up the morn. Plus, better fuel economy!!!, Andy was saying my throttle sensor thingy was basically off or on 100%, with that adjusted I can now cruise quite happily, prob save myself about a £10 spot a week. Thats the mapping sessionpaid off in a year then!! Also, an excuse to put up a fresh pic too....

I know that feeling!! The more I speak to them, the more impressed I am. Good sound knowledge. Plus, im sure the said a courtesy car would be available to nip into Perth while they are working on the car. 22B, P1???
-
I had same. Came on aboout 125mph, but didnt sound like air coming in or anything, did sound like an actual buzzer but cant say I was able to look about the car at the time. The Vectra GSi would have been able to check the rear of car for me....with a set of binoculars!
-
Probably going to sound a bit stupid, whos Wuz? Is he someone at Andy F's that will fit items, I have sportscat downpipe to fit which local garage will do but they seem reluctant to fit the up pipe (can get hold of one easy enough). I have few final bits to add to my car and be ready for a remap, but if I can get someone to fit them and remap while im down there all at once it would be ideal.
-
Yeh, its easy enough. Ive got of one the Moto GP Delete Elbow installed which (to me) turns the OEM air feed into a more "direct" feed and still looks OEM from engine bay (that appealed to me). Took me about half an hour to do, Jack drivers wheel up and remove. Remove any undertray body trim "push clips" from underside (think I done three in total), Peel back / out inner wheel arch lining, You should be able to see the large OEM resonator, which on my car (Hawkeye) was secured by one bolt (M10) on the inner wing between where the air intake enters and exits the inner wing, After undoing the bolt, it does take a lot of "jiggling" to get out, but hey, nothings easy! Well not much is easy, apart from the new elbow going in and fixed in place using the OEM bolt. Result, not much difference at low speeds, however pick up in each gear is definetly more responsive in mid to high (erm ) speed (overtaking! )! However! I just removed mine the other day, it does use more fuel (which being a company car) I have to "kind of" justify! Probably no more fuel than anyone fitting another third party direct feed induction kit though.
-
Yep, the ever useful "bright" swith is still present on my Hawkeye!
-
I could be wrong but in the two Hawkeyes ive had, Prodrive springs for WRX are Blue Prodrive springs for STI are Red, Im not too sure if this applies to the "Blobeyes" though? Put the red STI ones in a WRX they work, but tend to "rattle" on bumps bit at the top due to the finishing point being different (if that makes any sense).
-
Yep, right enough. Was out at girlfriends house, usually there. The white classic with graphics i'm thinking of earlier sits at the roundabout up by the Bonnie Earl in Bishopmill.
-
Yep, company car. So I took off the graphics, kept it for about a month after that (got bored with it) and traded up to WRX Wagon, looks a bit more sensible but still goes llike hell!
-
I could be wrong, but is there not a white classic with gold graphics up Bishopmill (Elgin) somewhere? Didnt really like that one but then I did have a blue one with gold graphics (loved it) but was told to remove them. Suppose its all your own preference and individual look.

I have a 56 plate 2.5 WRX Wagon and get similar results - 320 to 340 miles per tank with 'relaxed' driving. 300miles tops if 'farting about'!
-
Did your Y-Pipe fit ok the other week? Im curious because thinking about getting the same item(s) too.
-
Kinda jumping on this topic. Out of curiosity guys. I know I have missed this slot for getting Andy F, but I dont have much knowledge in the remapping of the Imprezas. I have had a couple of Sport versions in the past and played about with the handling. I currenlty have a 2.5WRX 56 plate, "hawkeye" wagon but was just wondering what I could (or more Andy F) could get out of it? Current mods are, 1. Have removed 3rd cat. 2. A moto GP silencer delete air intake is currently enroute from USA 3. Pipercross replacement filter installed 4. Cat back s/s exhaust system (2 1/2") 5. Will prob look at getting the silicone "Y" hose in very near future. Any ideas or comments if a remap is worthwhile soon or should I look at getting a few other bits first?
-
Yep, Prodrive and have kept the "L" shape brackets on too, to keep the flaps straight. The only pain is, Im lowering the car tommorrow and have to take them off and put them on again an inch higher for clearance. Il try and get some pics up for you later on. I like em' and find they are a lot better than the splash guards too.
-
I had ones on my 06' sport saloon but when traded it in for a 56 plate wagon removed them to put in the wagon, had to drill though the side skirt ends with large self tappers, never had any problems since ive put them on though.
-
Did you get the CEL light issue sorted out bud? Ive had previous experience of this. Im planning on doing a 3rd decat too next week, but where the hole for the sensor is I put in a "boss" spacer which lifts the sensor out of the centre of the 'faster', more turbulent airflow with the cat removed. Think ive actually got two of them if your wanting one.

Does anyone know where i can get a decent grounding kit like this one?...(for a new age, hawkeye) (the link is american, wonder if anyone does them here in UK?) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Paranoid-Fa...sspagenameZWDVW I have seen "generic" ones on ebay.co.uk by Monstor Mods which all connect to one point at battery negative terminal but not sure if thats better or worse than the american impreza one which runs in a "line". Any advice or comments welcome as usual.
