2 things im jealous of, 1. the wheels, really going to search hard for a Prodrive set of wheels 18" x 7.5" with OEM offset so I can drop the wagon that little bit more, 2. the sunroof, not sure why, just like them By no means the leather seats, just slide about too much!
-
Thats a bit different from the norm, but they do say that the wrong offset is the new look! OEM wheels are usually 50 to 55mm offset with aftermarkets usually around 45 to 48mm, not seen too many 35mm offset wheels on an Impreza but they must be quite wide wheels 8.5 or even 9" to have 235mm tyres fitted, so with wider wheels than usual ,will require the offset to be adjusted, so 35mm could be right enough.

Thats it, def want 18's for my wagon now!
-
Think i like them, kinda hoping I do because was looking at similar design for my wagon. What size of wheels did you have before hand, can see a darker alloy in back of one of the pics. Might want to throw up a pic of the car with its previous wheels on for comparison. Good fun with the Toyo 888's though!

Powder Coating - Who Does It Well? And Colour Scheme Thoughts?
Smiler AS replied to rallyfever's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Hi, just your pm, il try and give it a go, by no means an expert on photoshop, just a quick muck around at lunchtimes, usually with wheels. Il give the graphics a go too. -
What you up to Al with your rear end rimless and on show like that?

Urgent Help (car Not Starting) !sorted Now!
Smiler AS replied to burgy_51_'s topic in Scottish Scoobies
Dunno if these would help, sure Al wont mind me directing you towards his site. http://www.scouk.net/subaru-impreza/techni..._M30_Manual.pdf http://www.scouk.net/subaru-impreza/techni...a_m30_codes.pdf -
Ah well, getting easier and cheaper by the minute then to get the proper burble, think il give Harvey a quick email see what hes got.
-
Majority seems to be xbox 360, but then im biased because ive got one. I do believe the PS3 has got more gaming potential, but god the controllers, after playing a while, the xbox ones are still curvy and comfy but the PS3 ones are like trying to hold a brick comfortably. PS. AS Smiler on xbox live.

Mmm, I always thought the equal ones gave more power and torque, hence why subaru progressed and put them on the 2.5's and JDM's. If they do give more ponies, definetly going for them, is "Harvey" a trader or was it a one off sale?
-
The 2.5's (hawkeyes), even with a decent exhaust, never quite sound the same as a 2.0. Andy at AWD had mentioned the headers, with the 2.5's having equal length (same as JDM's), fitment is just the same for 2.0's so should be able to source a decent set of unequal length headers to get the proper "burble" back. I dont mind sacrificing a few bhp for the right noise too. Its not always about power.....just most of the time!! Has anyone every tried this as just wanted to check results before spending more pennies.

Choices, Choices.. Some Thoughts On New Wheels
Smiler AS replied to Smiler AS's topic in Scottish Scoobies
Both have crossed my mind, not sure how much it would be to get the speedlines properly powder coated / redone in a gark grey / anthracite?? Anyone any idea? Did think about the Redline Innovits too but wasnt keen on a black wheel, means I would have to keep the tyre walls clean and shiny all the time as I didnt like the look when the wheels themselves were more black than the tyres ( if that makes sense!?!) -

Yeh, std. alloys are fine and the quality of the Vredesteins (215/45/17) are great, couldnt fault them at all until now, since the new turbo went in, if I press the "fun pedal" while cornering or on a bend, with the huge amount of torque (382lbs/ft) I can feel the tyre wall flexing and come back and its a bit scary, so im thinking wider tyres 225 and less profile 40. -

You have got a point there, "gold is rally slag" but a rally slag wagon? I like the sound of the "street racer" kinda sleeper look, grey maybe goes with the black grills and splitter better? But then I do like the design and size of the gold speedlines?? -

Nah, dont fancy white, would be forever cleaning them after belting about the local roads! -
Doubt it, a WRX bugeye wasnt even able to take on my WRX hawkeye suspension let alone a classic.

Very nice and a bloody good price! Hawkeye STI though, thats 5 x 114 PCD, my WRX which has 5 x 100 PCD. -
Choices, Choices.. some thoughts on new wheels Ok, with the VF34 on now im needing a little more rubber to be in contact with the road (good excuse eh? ) May have the chance of some 18" wheels soon, just wanted to see everyones thoughts as I cant quite make up my mind yet. Original Possibly these (cant seem to get the pictures any bigger through photobucket for some reason, even though uploaded bigger size)... Thoughs welcome....
-
Afraid not, cant get the switchable boost on the hawkeyes yet. Such is life that il just have to make to with full boost all the time!
-
Curious, what makes you say that, did you get over 400? Thats a "good un" youve got there then! 3 2.5 wrx's ranging from; 378lbs/ft (decat, not sure which RON, 1.4bar) 384lbs/ft (sportcat, 97RON, 1.5 bar) 389lbs/ft (sportcat, 99RON, not sure what bar? Bobby C?) seems pretty consistent.
-
Cheers! and thank you again for keeping me right on what you fitted, sourcing a TMIC and the bracket issue too. Think I would have made slightly bigger figures if I had got it mapped on Optimax but played it safe with 97RON.
-
Yep sure was, at one point I was having "fun" in 4th, decided to calm down and up into 5th, I was in 5th all the time!!! Andy F gave me a controller to drop off at AWD for you, assumed Andy from AWD called you?
-
Yep, love it, and very little turbo lag too with the 2.5, would say the VF34 spools up every so slightly later than the TD04 and when it does, by heck!
-
Well, fun, fun, fun! Down at AWD this morning to get a VF34 fitted and sportcat, makes it MOT friendly now that its first one is due in Nov. Anyway all went spot on, round to Andy F's in the afternoon. A few runs later, and bear in mind, mapped for 97 RON plus sportcat, 342bhp & 384lb/ft torque, more than chuffed!!!
-
AWD Perth (top notch guys) are supplying (genuine ordered through Subaru they said) and fitting the VF34, they know my car from working on it previously and are giving me discount (dont know the exact amounts but they have been good previously) with my low mileage TD04 (about 33k on it now), sure they mentioned previously Forester owners go for them as upgrade.
