I've got to admit, I found it impossible to get a good clear reading on my last car ('06 wrx), manged to overfill it. Spotted it thou and out with the drain plug. I cannot believe how awkward it is to check the level. I now just aim for half way between. Anyone else have any tips?

Great trip, but just spent the last 5hrs 15mins cleaning the outside of the car, 2950miles of dirt/grime/road salt!!! Oh not to mention the brake dust!! Neighbours must think I'm totally crazy. Tomorrow the inside. Am I the first member with an 08 ? I dunno. But I can defo recommend one. But just read the new VED bands fro next year Now just waiting to find out about up-ing the power of the beast.

Hey all, Just back from my big trip. Covered 2950 miles in 7 days going to the Nurburgring then onto Geneva for the 78th motorshow. I'm sure you will all be interested in my mpg. Well sitting at around 70 -75mpg for most of the time I got an overall 33.6mpg according to the onboard computer thing. This was my 1st trip to the 'ring, and let me tell you, its fun. I have driven around 100 laps on PS2 and Xbox360 and its so different in real life. So so many blind coners and dips and MASSIVE kerbs. Cost 33euros for 1 to 5 laps. If any one is thinking of going then give me a shout and I'll help will anything I can. The trip took me thru France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany (did not get to go on any unrestricted Autobahns (Boo!) and of course Switzerland. Possible 1 speeding fine in Switzerland (scamera) The Geneva show was huge. It only cost 7euros for entry which is cheap in comparision to the uk variant. The subaru stand was not brilliant, It did have the new rally car. Otherwise it was a really good show with the likes of ferrari, bugatti, pagani, koneseeegggiig? etc. Worth a visit Anyway I really, really need to go wash me car, it's bad. After 2950 miles in the new STI, I love it. Much easier to drive then my last scoob (2006 Wrx). A lot more comfy than expected, fuel not too bad (I need to remind myself, it is a subaru).

Ah, I had the tuned Skoda Octavia 4x4 Turbo, A quick bu**er, only car I could hit the rev limiter in 5th gear at 'quite high speed'. Unwilling to say but was the anti-social side 150. Of course done on a closed private track

My thoughts are hang off for a year. Once the new shape scoob appears the second hand value of the current shape should drop, then grab your self a bargin. Or consider buying an import.

Went down to Autosport at the NEC last week. Filled up at Hamilton, drove 60-75 all the way. Got 350miles and the petrol light was still not on, was going for the 400 but bottled it coz I seen the next service station was a shell (runs on only optimax, my choice.) Took £50 quid to fill back up.[]

Is there anyone else who has this 'disorder'? I really really really hate when my cars dirty, It gets me down. You get up in the morning, walk out to the car, and what awaits? A big dirty mess, and you have to drive to work with folk looking thinking "Nice car, shame its boggin'" Has anyone sold their car coz it was dirty, like that was the final straw, don't like the car, but thats it its going. I once sold a car coz I needed tyres, sold the wifes car a couple of years ago coz she clipped a kerb and ballooned the tyre. Again that was the final straw for me. This sound crazy, but anone else associate with this ?!?

Oh dear, so many options. Thanks to all for the offers to get an exhaust. I am not in a position to get one this side of Xmas. I should be taking the car for a new turbo/remap the end of Jan/Feb ( unless I dent it!!) Just now I'm doing the whole, whats my option and cost, but all your help is much appreciated.
