  1. Mon the hatchs!! Having gone from a hawkeye to a hatch. All I can say is don't knock them till you try them. It is just a shame that there are so many aftermarket bits over the pond that we've got to pay outragous shipping fees to get any of it. Grrr
  2. When I had my elise, that only saw daylight at the weekends if it was dry, I bought a trickle charger. Draper I think. Nothing fancy at all, was the size of a mobile phone charger with two leads. It was top notch. was about £14.
  3. ahh, oh well, just a thought.
  4. Copper slipped . I have 4pot brembos and fit well. I'll see how it goes. I fully understand that there is no perfect pad, i.e performance in the cold /hot, brake dust , wear , noise. But i thought I'd try the EBCs, but so noisy. The bite fine when cold BTW. I had an Elise a couple of years ago and you had to throw out an anchor to stop when they were cold, so scary.
  5. Track car ? or make it a hobby, clean it up etc.
  6. This is not a review or even to give you my thoughts on their perfomance. Some will know I fitted EBC Red Ceramic pads all round, along with turbo grooved front discs. Why not the rear disc I hear you thinking?. The rears are in the catalogue but 'not available yet. Also did MOTUL RBF600 fluid and stainless lines. Anyway fitted them about 2 weeks ago and they have been driving me mental !!!! The bl**dy noise of the things. SQUEEEEEEELLLLLLL! This only happens when i touch the brake gently i.e in the middle of town when theres 9 million peeps about going "oh nice shiny white car" then "WTF, listen to that, thats knackered" Before anyone asked I bedded them in the recommended way (theres a whole lots of ways recommended by different people). Oh then a couple od days later, I done it again. EBC says " this should go away in about 1000 to 1500 miles" 1500 miles sounding like a bus/train/squeely thing all in one. I don't think so sonny jim Tonight , the wifes at work, and I decided I had had enough. I have just been out and absolutly pounded the living organic resin out of them. Stopped let them cool for 15 mins, Then gave it some more. Done this a few times (was out for about 1hr30mins). One last shot of the way home I mabey over done it a bit and lost my brake pedal. Hmmm love the smell of cooked brakes in the morning. So I'm home now. If they squeak on the way to work tomorrow. You just might see me on the hard shoulder of the M8, wheels off, and throwing disc and pads about in a big tantrum. Rant over. Thanks If they stay on I give you a review in due course.

  9. My old WRX with cat protection

  16. Agree. but the sountracks is ok with me in moderation
  17. Looking forward to that.
  18. Thats mad. I bet you de-catt'd it. Boom Boom
  19. Gav, is is correct the STI will 'only' have 250bhp ?
  20. thats brilliant.
  21. It's pads & discs time for me tomorrow. Well front disc/pads and rear pads. No one in the UK does rear discs for the 08 yet, there in catalogues but 'not availabel' yet. A spirited session at knockers fried them, to the point where my nice white sti decals on my calipers are a shade of toasty brown and my front wheels now go from a very light shade of gold from the inside to the proper colour silver towards the outside. Gave changing them in the driveway last week but could not for the life of me shift the caliper bolts. A Got space in a mates garage tomorrow. EBC grooved turbo discs and red stuff pads BTW, oh and a nice set of braided hoses.
  22. Agree. Consider buying suspension bits. Front & rear roll bars and droplinks. No point in approaching a corner quickly if you've got to scrub it all off to go round it !! I know that does not sound like much fun as phowar I've got 9000bhp. But Improve the handling and you'll go quicker.
  23. Just read the first post. Can I ask a daft question, why did they not just sand blast it ? seen some excellent result on some very old classic VW's. Old VWs was my other hobby for many many years.
  24. Whats fuel economy ???????
  25. Love sitting at the light and a 'ned' car pulls up beside. I make sure that I look as if I'm going to go for it, you know, edge forward a bit / a wee rev or two. Wait for the lights to go green, sit still and watch the wee ned spin away 1000miles worth of tyres then he realises I've not moved. Hehe. Don't get me wrong, theres a time and a place but 'ned' cars are not one of them
