  1. Went out to Meadowhall today to do last min shopping and pulling in the carpark my car made a strange noise and did not boost. opening up the bonnet the big red hose that goes into the turbo i guess, the jubelee clip had come off and the pipe was just resting against the metal! really is true once you up the power things start having issues, luckly there was an RAC man 30feet away who lest me a sqrewdriver to fasten it back on again. been as I am off to Cornwall in the morning (800mile round trip) think I will be taking a small tool kit with me just in case. Happy Christmas all.
  2. stop been gay and remove all the cats, then when its mot time put in a big ass centre section with a huge cat to supress emmitions then swap back after mot like I was going to do, but instead just went some where friendly and they passed it anyway.
  3. dont worry no offence taken at all, I love it but at the same time stand back and laugh my ass off at it! it really is far to silly and to be fair the spoiler on my 2003 WRX was really about the most we need, not these silly huge ironing board ones, but all that said, I love it looking this ott and silly, the car looks like it wants to eat small childeren, just wait until the new year when I get mud flaps and a bigger carbon scoop on it, it will look really silly then! hehe.
  4. its a Magnex Full Decat system, 3" All the way through with a 3" tail pipe,,, wanted a bigger exit but aparently there was a problem fitting the 5" exit due to the rear diffuser so had to go for the 3", but have to say it does sound awesome, the only thing I am dissapointed about with the remap is that before it if I let the revs off quickly I got an awesome bang from the exhaust, I could not stop doing it for fun, but not because of the rev thingy it wont do it anymore.
  5. Was wondering if anyone had any experiance with running NOS on there scooby for the odd power boost? or if its far too unstable to run in a turbo charged car??
  6. Got the Car re-mapped on Friday after having the exhaust done, and what a difference, bottom end seems about the same I think but its when your changing up through the gears you notice it! the car does not lose in the pull as it gets in the bigger cog, it just keeps pulling at the same rate like a train! only thing that scared me at first was when i let off the gas there seems to be a half second delay in the car powering off? that worried me a bit at first as it was like having cruise control on without realising! after the playing with computers in the car she got upto 340bhp and 380lb's of torque! pretty fair figures I think, here is a couple of shots I took. my fave is the one with steam pouring out the engine bay, I also had the Turbo ported because of some dull reason but it needed doing, and I guess one of the coolant hose's was not quite on right when it was put back so I had a tense moment! hehe. all in all very happy with it all and thanks to the guys at the Scooby Clinic for fitting me in at a moments notice so close to Christmas
  7. Drink lots more & sleep with a lot more women! Thats about as much as I feel like acheiving in 2008
  8. Went up to the Scooby Clinic for a De- Cat system yesterday and while wondering about I somehow happed to get this! lol Exhaust is awesome btw but its overboosting now and so I am heading back up tomorrow for a remap and rolling road session,, cant wait, should be awesome! going to hide though so I dont buy more things
  9. I went to a place in Sheffield (as I live there) They did the full car for £120 and offer a lifetime guarentee too! have to say the job they did was first class! Really first class I went for a Med tint all round as I like a tint where you can see there are people in the car moving around, but cant really see who they are. on the pics it looks a little darker than it really is, night vision is good enough, and the police dont seem to care and I have been pulled a few times for spot checks and never mentioned them.
  10. Finally after 3 trips to the dealers and 1 trip to the Scooby clinic its back fighting fit again. The dealers finally found the problem after I reported a knocking noise for the 2nd time this year, they first put new shocks on it, then put a DCCD on it! not a cheap thing, thank god for warranty! but after all that it came back to been nothing more than an engine mount! thats two I have broken, the first one I broke fair and square dropping the clutch from max rpm but the 2nd really did go after no hard driving at all! starting to wonder how strong these things are???? but at least its back fighting fit now, well apart from the intercooler hose that tore i guess from all the extra movement but thats getting fitted first thing in the morning then shes off to the clinic next week to treat her to a de-cat system and a re-map to get some more ponys out of it after that might have to look at clutch and making things stronger. --------------- on another note this is my mates Evo 8 getting its cage fitted ready for the track day at Donnington Park on the 27th of this month, were both going down there to try to wreck them on the track reather that public roads as decided thats safer these days what with all the people you could hit and scratch your paintwork. anyone else planning on going down there or too close to Christmas for people???
  11. I got mine from the main dealer fitted for £450 for X4! good deal I thought
  12. Any idea how much they cost? I am guessing its a dealer fit with there been no switch there.
  13. I miss having fogs on the STI like I had on my old WRX, is there any original bits of kit you can get for them, I really do like the covers with the STI on and dont want to lose the look but would be nice to have some more light for dark B road driving.
  14. That is a must see event, I have been ringing round people all day to see who has sky tv for BBC as I have been down in Malaga since getting my driving ban for tickling the Scooby on the motorway! whoops,,, ne mind,, 1 month ban ends sunday so I can come back to the UK to drive her again! cant wait to see if Hamy does the fastest lap,, recon this could be the biggest ever viewing of topgear.
  15. Was doing my accounting this week, it relax's me until I see how much life costs and did a breakdown of what my car costs me to stand on the drive and have a yearly minor service Its a 2006 2.5 STI that I bought with 5k on the clock. Actual cost of pure Finance, Insurance, Road Tax and 1 service per year £5747.46 per year / £495.52 per month / £110.52 per week / £15.78 per day Does not take into account ware items (Tyres, Brakes, and Clutch etc.) Dare not do it with fuel and all the rest, probably work out around the uk national average wage!
  16. my old 2003wrx did it a few days after i got it for about a week, then stopped doing it alltogether??? i put it down to me getting used to the box and it been a performance car,, lol,, i put all faults down to it been a performance car!
  17. We should get together as a group and organise our own sting to catch the little fu8kers, all we need is a couple of cameras,, take shifts for a week and bag the SOB's, I will happly park my car as decoy to sit and get these fu8kers knicked.
  18. mine is still having problems from going there and not been fixed, have another thread going about this, must call the scooby clinic as its up there for them to have a look, just over seas at the moment and so not happy i cant just get home and play with it, got all this hassle to sort to get it back on the road in 100% state of repair
  19. I stuck with the standard Bridgestone Potenza RE080 or what ever the codeing is for my 2.5STI, no idea what other compair like, but they give me the confidance to do what i do with my car and have to say the car has more to give still than I dare take and i am no softy with it.
  20. Been having issues with my car for 3weeks now, really feels like the problem I had last time on my old wrx that the dealer could not fix, maybe its a conspricy to keep me off the road in fast cars?? who knows??? anywho,,, it has a knocking sound that sounds like its coming from under the gearshift area of the car, I had a similar noise about 2 months ago when an engine mount went,,,, but there fine this time its a 2006 2.5STI with 8k on the clock if you cant remember, they at first though it was just me until i took them for a drive to re-create the problem, and basicly if you accellerate the car to 4000rpm or more in first and put the clutch down you get a bang and can feel something move and hit under somewhere, the dealers in sheffield said it was the shocks so replaced them under warranty. got it back and with in 500yards realised they were wrong and took it back,,, they then played with it for a week and came up with nothing again,, took them for another drive and they decided it was the DCCD, (diff) and replaced that under warranty! about a £3000 fix i belive!!! they called me after testing and said,,, erm its not that its still broken but the subaru area manager says that subarus just make that noise! "yea right!" what a tit! and they gave me the car back cos they have no idea???? so i have a car i paid plus £20k for thats got an issue that the dealers cant fix! not a happy bunny! i took it to the scooby clinic totay cos I have a lot more confidance in them but they wont be able to fix it under warranty if its something expencive , but as there good guys there and I am a regular customer they are going to try to diagnose it for me to take back to the dealers (great set of guys up there) just thought I would moan on here and see if anyone else has had the same problem and can shine any light on the subject for me?
