  2. Haha... That was with my last car Iain but yeah, been meaning to get it done for a wee while now. I did try with someone else but was let down sadly.. ;P

Jimser, never had you down for the show and shine type  Foreman yes but polishing no :D

i would be watching in a supervisory way :madnoel:

  3. Just thought i'd stick my neb in and say hello. Still have the scoob although her indoors uses it more than me nowadays, kinda lost interest but had her @ the garage fixing power steering this week and am considering tarting the old gal up a bit with a new panel or 2 a bit o filler and a splash o paint. Won't be overnight as works a bit of whatever i get nowadays so funds are tight but seeing as things aint selling for much may as well keep it and have some fun.

Hope all the faces old and new are well and not scoobless.

    Steve

glad your still alive mate, not been a good year for us workies :D

  4. Cheers Frank.

How long have you been saying your car will get the treatment now? :boxing:

get yer finger oot frank lol :D

could be doing with a detail too, think them 8 coats of laquer would come up well

  5. lol im sure things will be different when arch joins in the fun
Don, Arch is right. big turbo's don't make quick cars in every scenario.

My car is way to late spooling for sprints and hillclimbs, where Arch's car

has been purposely built for the job. He is going to whip our @ss when it's

    ready.

yip my money's still on arch when he gets the car running.

bhp/tonne + experience is hard to beat :)

  6. Thanks again for the friendly welcome and comments. The prodrive/alcon breaks are brilliant but I cant say im looking forward to replacing them when the time comes. Any ideas on the cheaper alternatives? The handling is superb but whiteline bits you say, ill need to look into that one.

    car looks minted mate :D

as for the brakes i was quoted around £650 for the alcon discs :)

bought 2 piece discs and ferrodo pads from godspeed for £515 delivered

  7. Cheers Mac, will do.

    Any Godspeed supporters?

i've used godspeed bells/rotors on my 3 subarus to date.not used his 335 conversion kit as i had ap calipers on my first 2 cars.just fitted a set last week with ferrodo 2500 pads.does the job for me and will still use the same combination when the cars running 450-500 bhp.wouldn't think there would be too much difference between the alcon and brembo calipers

  8. I am looking for after market rather than OEM. Is there no where in scotland at all?

Also, do you know how much OEM pads are from the dealers?

    above will supply aftermarket

haven't a clue how much oem pads are from dealers mate, have always bought pads from as performance or ian at godspeed brakes

  9. Anywhere folks? I cant really wait a day for delivery so need to buy them tomorrow.

if you can't wait then try the dealers.if you can wait a day phone alyn as early as you can tomorrow morning and you should have them for tuesday

had a good day at crail today although not overjoyed with my time, someone else from here had a good 'un though.thats me got 3 cars on the list now lol

  11. Thats for the reply Jimser. I take it thats supplyed and fitted? I was just going to get the downpipe cat pipe and centre section from scoobyworld totaling £367.47 but thats just supplied.

Would the meerkat system be better or is it much of a muchness?

yes that would be a fitted price.andy f has commented in the past about how well their exhausts systems flow so can't really add to that

  12. Hi All,

Just heard form my company and they are now going to pay me my redundancy on the 27th September - not the 27th May as they stated - twats!!!! Still, longer to find the ullimate Scooby for around £10k.

    Cheers

    Gary

thats a bit of a bummer mate but as you say will give you more time to find the ideal car :)

thanks Peter, feel like a fud for overreacting :D i'm in a similar boat to you as you well know, have made some costly mistakes with the car, but have learned from them...

water under the bridge scott,i think we've all been guilty of making costly mistakes of some description in the past.looks like both of you have allocated the engine work to the right people now though.have yet to hear a bad word of either chy or alan.

  13. agree with others, why not just get meercat to do the lot and pick your own backbox style/volume

How much are their systems for a 2.5" downpipe, cat pipe and centre section? - All decat?

I don't need a backbox so just the above...anyone got a rough idea of price from experience?

somewhere in the region of £350-£400

  14. 3 leagues out of 4. If our next manager is that good then I'll be happy.

yes and rightly so,first season thats he's failed to win the league and instantly bagged.

was never totally accepted by the fans(imo)and you get the feeling it was probably a relief this season that he failed and the chance came for a change.

pmsl at the manager of the year award though

  15. The white Type R runs 550cc injector for 470bhp?
 470??i think ur right peter..........
i think peter was implying that with those injectors it is very doubtful that the power figure for that car is accurate mate.......
if you go onto the RC website it calculates the injector size you will need etc, quite a good wee tool....if you are looking at that car i would ask what duty cycle his injectors are at, it must be impossible for 550s to run that horsepower. my understanding would be that the minimum size required for that power would be 740s.....(ok, so i used the calculator on rc's website). i need to get out more. lol...
as you say, the mistake was on the advert, and as rallyfever had asked about the car, comments were made ref the injectors as he has been asking for advice on the cars he is looking at. dont see the harm in trying to offer someone some friendly advice, had the advert been correct then he could have been looking at a car which was not as described...crystal ball wasnt working too well at the time..

dont see anything wrong with not doing the work on the car myself, some people prefer to do the work themselves, some people prefer to have it done for them, i fall under the second category. does that mean that people who do the work themselves are the only 1s who are allowed to pass comments on cars or offer advice??im not claiming to be a wealth of knowledge when it comes to subarus, but ive been an owner for a fair while now and had plenty of tuning done over the years to know a wee bit, so to be called a "keyboard tuner" by someone who doesnt even know me is a bit sh*te... :gay:

if you look at yours/peters comments above you will see that you were both doubting the cars power output.a genuine mistake in the ad (re the injectors)as the guy is probably a bit like yourselves with more stages than a rally season.

so while giving out the friendly advice you could also have cost the chap a sale.

the clue that the car power output was genuine was here

THE CAR WAS PART OF TO TOTB 06 SUBARU TEAM AND HAS BEEN PROVEN AMONG THE COUNTRIES FASTEST SUBARUS.

PROVED AT ONE STAGE IN 2007 (NOT SURE IF STILL THE CASE) THE FASTEST EJ257 1/4 MILE TIME.....11.2 @ 127MPH

not sure about you but peter should know what power needed to run a time like that without a crisp packet lol

the clean handed keyboard tuner comment was actually a joke mate and more aimed at peter but if i offended you then i apologise.

  16. if you go onto the RC website it calculates the injector size you will need etc, quite a good wee tool....if you are looking at that car i would ask what duty cycle his injectors are at, it must be impossible for 550s to run that horsepower. my understanding would be that the minimum size required for that power would be 740s.....(ok, so i used the calculator on rc's website). i need to get out more. lol...

i think you'll find that he is in fact running 740's and had made a mistake in his ad.

its quite amusing reading the comments of keyboard tuners who have never dirtied their hands on their own car all the same :D
