cheers folks
cal-had same launch control and anti lag on the spec c,classic seems to be easier to launch but
noticed today it takes a lot longer to climb in revs, probably due to the avcs heads and cams that the spec c had
dunk-its a t
-
sorry no picture taking involved, just a visit to port seton for a tad more power
and to get the launch control and anti lag enabled on my car.
being a simtek ecu theres no road dyno capabilities but andy's famous butt dyno is
estimating over 400bhp and over 360lb/ft
only running 1.65 bar so a bit more to come once the map sensor is upgraded.
til next time

has anyone got a 99 impreza in the renfrewshire area that i could come over and look at.
presently trying to put the wiring and plumbing back together and wouldnt mind a reminder at what its supposed to look like!
thanks in advance
Alex
im sure there will a couple closer, but mines is in barrhead if thats any use to you
-
well done folks
if i didn't have the most common model of impreza there is i would have maybe made it too
-
marty on here who posts as scoobaru has a 20g for sale if anyones interested,im sure its an andy f one too so no worries about being a cheap copy!
-
Delighted that you caught it in time Jim,
what age/mileage had those lines done?
Thanks in advance
Graham
car is 10 years old and covered 57000 miles,i'm assuming that they are the original lines from factory
-
Gizza a wee pic or two and a description of where you found it, spec etc of the project car Jim, I'm not such a regular browser of SS just now and must have missed you putting a thread up..
Cheers,
Grant
found it on scoobynet grant, most of the works already been done.have changed the turbo, new front bells, rotors and pads and added an avcr.oh and a switch for anti lag
as for spec its pretty much all been covered by previous owner 2.0l built engine,6 speed box,
ast coilovers, whiteline bars, alk etc.£23k later he decided he wanted a bike again so good on him

Jim let me know if you are going to replace the fuel lines with braided lines. I just replaced some of the hose that I got from Pirtek coz it was crap and the new stuff is pretty good and cheap if you want the link let me know. Glad you found this as that looks horrific.
short term fix was to replace with standard fuel hose,i take it you adapted your rails for dash fittings?did you get that done locally?pm if you prefer
those lines looked tatty indeed good to hear your getting them sorted is this going to be a monster build Jim?not quite, just a built 2.0l with an md321t so about 450 ish
Nice one Peter well done for spotting, glad you got there first Jim ..what you got in the pipeline for it ?? when u fitting the Turbo ?Chris..
turbo was fitted a couple of weeks ago chris, just to get it mapped now.was quite surprised at the size of the 20g alongside the t
t on the left
That was really lucky by the looks of the part at the t-piece!!! Glad nothing bad happened mate!!!! Is that just heat damaged or just poor pipe?? I am going to be changing my fuel pipes just shortly, whats the best pipe to install??Jase
not sure tbh its factory fuel lines.as arch says your probably better going for braided lines
-
Look on the bright side.......... you could still sell the rear bumper!!
no offence mate but thats the kind of stupid remark i expect from an idiot
-
well not quite but after the resident inspector(dci lee) pointing out that my fuel lines looked slightly
fubared decided to replace the lines to/from the reg to rails etc.most were like this
but after taking the inlet manifold off to reach the t piece for the parallel rail doofer, which is a right pain in the butt
found this
absolutely gubbed!
visions of this came to mind
can be doing without another day like that
the end
ps. thanks for the help big chap but stop biting them nails
-
Well at least you wont see whats melting your skin

youd probably have more chance wi brake dust

Cheers Iain
Some other interesting stats from the Solaris datalog.
0-60 = 1.89 (done in 1st gr) (60'=1.54)
0-100 = 4.14 (incls 2 gear shifts)
30-130 5.01 (incls 3 gear shifts)
1/8th mile 5.95@127mph (Pod time slip)
No Nitrous, just booooooooost
good time andy,if you could get a 60ft time like peters you'll get in the 8's no problem
-
first car was a 1980 ford fiesta lol.second car was a 1979 rs2000 which would probably be worth a few bob now if not nicked in paisley!!!cants
-
You should have gone for a spec c!! Every bit as much fun as you can have in a classic!
bug spec c is only about 40kg heavier than a late classic.
that weight can be lost and you have a chassis that will take big power alot happier
-
nice to finally see your car in action last weekend arch, your times were consistently getting better(apart from the last run)so more to come.well done
i'll hopefully be out to play next year, not sure in what class yet though
-
