what....... the bird and her car??
thats the spirit chris
its nice to share

Any idea why there is a problem with the ra-r's on the model reports ?
Did you have any problems with yours Jimser ?
there are no model reports available to the public for the euro 4(my06 onwards)spec c's
in general but there are obviously ways round this.litchfield are supposedly the owners of the report
but pcm and keighley also sell them so who knows, possibly just putting them through as sti's?
-
Hey jimser, Got the car yet ?
I've been in touch with Stewart already bud. I'm trying to do a bit more research as to which exact model to get.. I thought I had narrowed it down to either a 99/00 STi RA or Type R Ltd but the "naff " maf is a bit of a worry not to mention the extra costs with the SVA and the like. Also a bit concerned about these Model reports.(whatever they are) Don't know anything about this really but did look at a V6 Type R Ltd a while back at a local garage that was on an "S" plate ...Seemed a bit weird to say the least.
So now I'm looking into the v4 Type R Ltd. decisions decisions.............
not yet frank, should hopefully be sva'd next week so not long now
not had a subaru since august so a couple more weeks dont bother me
wouldnt worry too much about hiring the model reports, most are onle £150-£200
its the ra-r's etc that are the problem
and yea you'll save yourself a few £ more if you go for something older than 10 year
-
if its a pretty much mint condition standard car your after then stewart chapman
is the guy to speak to.at least that way you'll get exactly the car you want and there
will be no worries about damaged repairables etc.i certainly wouln't buy an import from a garage
here as they'll be making a good profit which you could be keeping in your own pocket.
there are some cracking cars going through the japanese auctions at good prices, you've just got
to be prepared to wait that bit longer for it.
-
I'll need to change the turbo for that in club
aye you'll need to get rid of that chocolate block too
-
How is it running with the 2.5L?
smooth as chocolate i would imagine
lovely car chris

glad you've got yourself another scoob mate, and remember-
moddings a mugs game lol
-
Jim, you rob the council mate? Good looking parts, should turn out to be one hell of a car.
na mate just been doing a lot of special rate jobs for pensioners
-
Is that a challenge ?
with circa 100bhp and 300kg of a difference it wouldnt even be close john
-
Is this Spec C Twin-Scroll?
no mate, the twin scrolls started my03
-
looking good noel-glad you got there in the end
good to know car wirings not changed that much from the mkII escort days
-
just a quick update on this, the car lands at liverpool on the 24th january so not long to go now.
not been adding too much to the parts collection but did get my 321h back from turbo dynamics after being converted to a 321t
and also got a set of perrin headers
only problem is i need to change sump, pick up pipe, dip stick and housing to suit.
just need a few other things now-backbox,cai,ast coilovers, anti roll bars etc etc etc
its never ending
ps.anyone looking for a lodger?
-
Now we're talkin.
Let's get a list of anyone thats up for it and then we'll have something to shoot for.
Jimser, unless it's changing for this year you just pitch up and see what you can do. You fall into whatever category depending on your results. It means you don't need a mega motor to come away with a trophy. It's just for a giggle after all.
cheers colin,sounds good to me

Sorry for hijacking the thread but what newages have forge pistons then? is it all newage sti's that are 2.0l?
thats a bit of a kaiser sauzee question chris.
subaru blocks are very mystical and i think
a lot depended on how much smoking the little jap engine builder had the night before

Not gettin as much money as i want, but i wish my own car was a diffrent colour or id be happy, but if the sale doesnt go through im still happy with what iv got.Can you have the poping and banging on a switch on the spec c,and i also want to get a LOUD exhaust so hopfully Meercat will sort me out.Even though i know loud exhaust are not everyones taste
.Will my dumpvalve from my Hawkeye fit the spec c?
yes your dump valve will swap over,as for the switched popping etc, it was year dependant.so thats probably a question for your mapper.
-
Cheers guys. Are the ones with the options not as good as the ones with nothing?.Any one seen this car in the flesh.
the only difference is slightly more weight but im sure the air con etc will make
it a nicer day to day car to live with.
-
no rear wiper??
rear wiper was excluded on the spec c peter.
then in true lightweight fashion on some models they added air con, leccy winows etc
the red car in question was purchased from litchfield so wont be any dodgy history
like a lot of other imports coming into the country.
not my cup of tea in red but if being different is your main aim then thats the car to go for.
