  1. Went to Hypertech today Got rear ARB, Drop links front and rear, ALK and fast road geometry settings done and came home in what felt like a new car. Took as scenic a route home as possible to test things out but was limited due to volume of traffic. Bends though did feel significantly different. very flat and neutral with the back end feeling much more planted.looking forward to getting a real feel for it over the next few days. :o Thanks to Duncan and Duncan Jr, really nice guys too.

will deffo feel like a different car now kevan

    enjoy mate :rotfl:

  5. I suspect it will be similar to the old one, some bits are heavier, but others are no longer present. Somewhere between 1000-1050kg

lol i thought i was doing well getting mine down to classic weight!

looking forward to the finished article

  6. Ach, nae cash left... If ever you are upgrading though, gimme first shout on it will ya? Who knows, maybe by that time I will be better finacially placed to take it off your hands. My other alternative would be to buy PPG's 1 - 4 gears and get them fitted but that's about 3 grands worth. Depressing :banana2::thumbup:

if i decide to change it i'll let you know mate

  7. Listen, I have taken too many leafs out of yours and that Peter's book as it is! I don't need any more leafs thanks!

What's happening with my gear box? <--------- SEE!

Will be impressive when its done.

cheers craig and im sure you'll be happy with your jdm sti when it arrives B)

  10. There's a huge thread on SNET about these plates.

Massive drops in oil pressure have been observed and even cases of the one way flaps being sucked thru to the wrong side which means it keeps oil away from the pickup not around it.

Have a look and have a think.

cheers for the heads up colin but i didnt go into this with my eyes closed.

the car you refer to is duncans(dynamix)which turned out to have a cracked oil

pick up pipe!i have spoke to alan jeffrey and allayed my fears of oil pressure

drop and have been assured that there are several cars running these plates with

no issues.i will run with the plate and monitor oil pressure to see how it goes,if there

is any issues then i shall remove it and look at other options.

for the record i'll be monitering:

    oil pressure,oil temp,water temp,fuel pressure,boost pressure,wideband afr,inlet temp,

injector duty, exhaust gas temp and more,no point in pushing an engine to the max and then disregarding whats going on(even on a little 2.0l)

  11. didnt spend too much time working on the car today but did manage to

strip down and remove inlet manifold

    13042008152.jpg

fitted manifold spacers and put new one-piece manifold back on

    13042008153.jpg

    took off sump

    13042008154.jpg

and fitted 1 of these cosworth baffle plates

    21032008135.jpg

couldnt fit new hydra throttle body as we need smaller headed bolts but g.mac has

sorted us out with them(cheers mate)so can get that on tomorrow
