so what waist size do you need to be to fit in the seats jim????????
You certainly hve gone all out on the cr is one to be proud of. Will need to get some website info from you for a few parts lol so i know where ot get them cheap.
How many times you had it out round the block then lol
32" and under is fine chris but a couple of other bigger lads have managed to squeeze in there
just let me know what your after i'll help if i can
-
Pity no fat people will be able to pax in this car
Hooray for skinny people
Good effort there boss
no point trying to get the weight down and then carrying hefty's around with you.
-
Andy told me two were required. I think one is to switch maps, the other for a/l. AFAIK the l/c is always on.
Use the third one to switch on the neons.
maybe andy only fits 2 then, this is where i had seen the use of 3 switches:
engine tuner on scoobynet "We fit three switches for those using anti lag.
One is for map switching, one for the anti lag, and another for launch control"
neons on a newage?surely not
-
See the aqumist is the water coming from the same tank as the intercooler water spray
yea mate water is coming from 12l tank in boot,i've just ran a separate feed
-
Damm 't. That was my idea. Why 3 switches tho?
maybe im jumping the gun a bit but i think the simtec can have switches for
anti lag, launch control and map 1/2
-
Real nice Jim, and in record time too.
Is that a remote knocklink in the forrester pocket? Gonna do someting similar (but different) with mine
thanks colin, theres 3 led's in the pocket for aquamist(low water, pump active and system fault warning)
and 3 switches for the simtec ecu
good idea for the knocklink though
-
How long have you got to wait before it gets mapped? Can it be driven just now?
due for remap on the 19th may
yea can be driven off boost
-
stunning work by all involved. can't wait to see the final results. good luck mate.Good show and good luck on remapFantastic effort guys...3 weeks jeeez..the car was in the sva for nearly as long as that lol
Well done Jim..look forward to hear how the trip to Port Seton goes
Wow... A proper "man's car" Awesomecheers guys
-
great job mate. what is the device above the avcr?????
bet you cant wait to get it mapped?
Looks abit like the nightrider cabin with all those switches and gauges lol
cheers chris, its a wideband monitor with 90 mins datalog facility.
and yea cant wait for mapping, standard block and all
-
well thats about it for the modding caper, sorted the issues with aquamist and the oil leak, audi mark finished
polishing the car tonight,so just a case of getting the car up the road and waiting for the re-map.cant thank gary d and terzo neil enough for all their help, without whom it just wouldn't have happened in 3 weeks, cheers guys.
thanks also to peter, jac, cusco kid, higgy,SQUIGGLE and anyone else i forgot.not got much else pic wise
aquamist fitted
interior
quick release steering wheel

Quick, fast and reliable thats the way ahead!
hopefully paul
that is the best plan after but you can't beat a 2.5L and a bigger turbo combo thofull boost at 4700rpm etc is not my idea of a road car but thats not a dig
each to their own
Did I not see this gettin delivered to your workshop Jim?no no no lol
-
Disgree with the rambling, that hurt, I thought the point was well made
More reliable? Dunno, again I have no experience of anything other than my MY06 and I have broke a piston and ragged the gear box, so possibly not! LOL
some good points made john,as for the gubbed piston and gearbox, well theres plenty of
classics with that too.
everyone buys what they like/can afford and at the end of the day there all subarus.drive and enjoy!
-
Jimser its a blast mate! I cant even begin to imagine what some of the lastest cars are like with the 500 bhp. I have been following your thread with interest and it looks like you will have a weapon on your hands once its all set up
yea hopefully mate, not sure if i'll be hitting the heights of 500bhp.
need 1.8 bar on the magic mix for that
-
Stage 2 on the cards already!!!bet the front mount and the bigger turbo are already in the house of Jimser waiting to get fitted. Well he has had his house full of mods for the past few months so it will feel strange having floor space again.
no stage 2 planned at the moment,no big turbos under my bed or front
mounts,if everything goes to plan i'll be sticking with the 2.0l for a long
time and be happy with my lot!
-
Want a job as my Campaign manager ?
no problem john
-
that must be a blast mate,330bhp in a classic is a very quick road car
-
I'll be down at Kames for the unveilling I hope.
It's looking great though John.
The question is - with a new shiny race car will you be less commited for fear of breaking it?
less commited,i doubt it
looking good john
-
Let me know how it goes Jim.. i'm still a bit unsure to what bits i should be fitting to keep temps down and look after the engine for the long run...
What are fuel rails all about .... are these just for when you go for big power ?
will do frank.yea the fuel rails are a bit overkill at the moment but will be
good for stage 2
think we should be starting a book on when the front mount is going to get fitted lol.car is looking good. you need to get some pics up of the interior or lack of it Jim. Will be interesting to see the slim jim seats fitted in it. am gonna have to go on a diet to get a pax lap with you.
not fitting the seats yet chris but there will be a few needing to shed some
lbs/stones to fit in them
-
So your obviously sticking with the top mount Jim ..
Any plans to get a bigger scoop ? I've got an STi 8 i/c for the new one (when it comes) but Andy reckons a larger scoop would complement it.... can't say i like the idea mind..
yea sticking with top mount frank and no plans for a bigger scoop, only time will tell if
it works though
-
spoilsport
jac and peter if you can see high power injectors, thats one hell of a monitor you boys have
anyhow i heard this has diesel injectors
pmsl you'll be called v-power hawns before long
-
Probably quicker trying to work out what's still original
Looking good Jim..hard work pays off after all
loads of original bits left frank.....like the top mount and fluid bottles
Can i see big power injectors under the daddy fuel rails ?well spotted jac lol 800cc's
-
I've had enough of the choclate crap...
It's now onto bamboo for me...much healthier too
the chocolate watch prize was not a dig at you peter
am i barred from this competition jim ?YES
-
the alloy sheet has worked a treat
yea deffo peter
thanks to wullie(meercat)for that but im disappointed you didnt have a
go at the chocolate watch competition
-
It all takes time bud. It will be worth it in the end
Higgy
yea i know mate, theres always 1 or 2 issues when you take this much on.
didnt get much done today as audi mark came down and started giving it
a bit of a polish
heres the swirl pot etc fitted
and heres how the engine bay looks now, dont think i'll be winning any bling awards, the water
pipe hanging out is for the aquamist
and heres the engine bay when we started
a chocolate watch goes to whoever can spot most differences lol
