  1. I'm not keen on wagons and not the biggest fan of Classics, but that one looks fantasic, love it!
  2. I'm trying that, honest!!!! Maybe I need therapy to help me let go! I spend more time looking at the fuel gauge and across to the tripmeter than I do with anything else. It's an obession and it has to stop! It has to STOP I SAY, STOP! HELP MEEEEEEEE!!!!
  3. Sure looks that way! That said though, after the first map, it wasn't this bad and it was the same numbers. The difference in maps is minimal, nothing more than a tweak after the re-build.
  4. I just £2300 for my re-build. That's on an MY06 with one damaged piston. The block was of course re-usable and the pistons were £500. These are Wossner forged pistons. While that was getting done, the decision was taken to uprate a few other things as well, namely big-end shells, oil pump, new timing belt and other stuff that I can't remember! The car was re-built by Hypertech and I'd recommend them. Duncan knows Impreza engines inside out as he has rebuilt quite a few in his time.
  5. Well, just the heating but not climate control or cold air. What MPG do you get Stephen?
  6. Very nice!
  7. Got a V8 fitted to my 06 WRX at Hypertech and it looked pretty straigh forward mate. Have a go!
  8. Tyre Pressures Ok. Pistons are Wossner ones, don't think they are STi ones though, I'd need to ask Duncan. oil is Millers 15-50. Usual run-time is Glasgow to Paisley, 4 miles city-driving and motorway for the last 7 miles. DV is standard.
  9. Car: MY06 WRX. After my remap and turbo upgrade I am getting pretty poor MPG. I used to get 22 - 23 with the standard set up but now its dropped to 18. With the price hikes and the change-over from 95 RON to V-power, that's a fair whack. Now you might say, "Aha! More power, more fuel." but I know people on here who are running bigger numbers than me and are geting improved MPG over their standard set ups and way more than me! Also, Andy told me when the car was being mapped that it would produce the same, if not better MPG. And lastly, I have not been booting it, in fact this week, I made an effort to drive like a granny, keeping off-boost for much of the time, other than the odd play. I ended up with 18 MPG - cr4p. If driving the car like a granny is going to give me 18 miles to the gallon, there is no telling what I'll get when I drive the thing properly. Any suggestions? Thanks J
  10. Showz them then!
  11. No worries mate. 30 - 35 mm. More in the front than the rear, and more than the Prodrive ones. The lower, the more aggressive the car looks. The more aggressive the better!
  12. HAHAHAHA!!!! Oh man, I wish I had thought of that! Nice one!
  13. Decals: Yes. Pink: Hell No! Glad she liked it though!
  14. Cheeky a55wipe. He doesn't have too much of a clue about Subaru owners. The stereo type that he described is by far in the minority. I can't disgree with his assessment of the car however, well at least on its looks. And I also agree with assessment of Rallying! Ha! I was reading one of his books and enjoying it too. I think I'll tear it up into little bits and send it to him.
  15. Oh that's nice! Teins - Were in for sale at £100 but to my RIO - £80.
  16. Oh that's nice! Teins - Were in for sale at £100 but to Maverick - £80.
  17. True, but he's not just an average driver, is he? He's the real deal. The rest of us mere mortals have to use other means of finding pace. Some of use go nuts, some of us not so nuts and some of us swear to find a second a lap in a big pair of red trainers! I can't drive for toffee and red shoes was never my thing... SO! Its of to Nutterville for me! Though, I'm nowhere near as mad as the other two... not just yet anyway!
  18. Aye! That wiz me! I wasn't going onto the M74 though, was carrying on through to Rutherglen. Sorry I didn't see you.
  19. Did you get a new car? I can't see anything in the pics!!!! I'd say go for Teins. They are lower and more progressive than the prodrive ones. And its not jsut casue I have a set for sale! Get some decent pics up man!
  20. Put the Wossner piston in and you'll be sorted!!!
  21. Andy.F was telling me that the 2.5 cars run much tigher tolerances due to emmissions etc. When the 2.5 car had its debut in the US there was a whole load of cars nicking pistons in the tigher-than-normal bore. They had them a year before us, so in that time hope/think that Subaru would have sorted it. Its possible that this is what happened to my car.
  22. Holy crap, what a MESS! I saw an Impreza at Hypertech with lumpbs of engine casing all over the engine bay, was that yours? Dunc did say that the car in question was pursuing a Porsche. Maybe he got his cars mixed up, so, WIY?
  23. Never saw the rings mate, but they must have been ok because they held the broken part in place otherwise it would have totally shafted the liner. As it was, the liner had some markings, but nothing too drastic.
  24. Aye. Duncan's the daddy! Does a great job everytime. I have the Anti Lift Kit fitted and it is indeed a worthwhile mod. Makes the front end feel more planted, provides better grip in the corners as it negates understeer and better traction when accelerating out... Also. helps to make the car more secure uinder heavy braking . Go for it!
