  2. Hypertech was like a Scooby carpark today. Saw you bugeye looks really nice. Was dropping off my old ecu still trying to identify the reason for my knock spike.

  4. Another vote for Evolution. Gav fitted a Viper alarm to the Type R and changed it to remote central locking. Also got a Smartrack system on the wife's car.
  5. I'm trying Falkens on the Type R just now, no complaints. Try Prestige Tyres in Busby, close and alway find them reasonably priced. Also get my F1's from there aswell think I was around the £100 mark last time.

  9. I know Jimser imported his Spec C the same time as me last year had it SVA'd but got no CO2 figure on his documents and is only paying £185.
  10. Type R was registered Feb 2008 lucky not CO2 figure so still £185.

  14. Now know the 3 pin purple MAF from a UK car won't work so looking to borrow an orange MAF as trying to work out if there is a fault. Only need it to test the car as can run on the old one as long as I don't go over 6-7rpm. Thanks Robert
  15. Had a shot of Billyboys and really nice to drive, like the back but the front end puts me off.
  16. My average is usually below 20 but seen 34 when on track, recently noticed a knock spike only on full boost late up the rev range. Hypertech have narrowed it down to possible a blocked injector (running 440's), going to try running injector cleaner to see if it sorts it.

  21. Hope to make this. Will mention it at the Glasgow/Strathclyde meet tonight. We had a joint meeting with Central last year, good night, also able to put faces to names.
  22. Not touched anything else and injector duty seems fine based on the readings. Haven't got the use of my garage at the moment so will let Hypertech check it. Thanks for the replies.
  23. Dump valve stopped working couple of weeks ago to find the vaccum joint had seperated. Temp fixed it and cleaned the DV after this everything was ok. Since then have found that I am getting a high knock reading record on the Apexi commander. Car runs fine and can accelerate without it happening only when I kick the car hard in 3rd or 4th I get a knock spike high up the revs. Can actually see it happen on the display it doesn't build up or stay high it is just like a spike then it goes. The car can also gave a high boost reading, mapped by AF to 1.3 with a safety margin of 0.1 to allow a max 1.4 for overboost on track. Highest reading was 1.45. Talked to Duncan at Hypertech and he suggested the temp fix might be letting the cause. Have renewed the joint and re-clipped it, tested the car at the weekend on a deserted section of road. Run 1 - ok Run 2 - ok Run 3 - Knock reading 65, boost 1.42 Run 4 - Knock reading 81, boost 1.28 Going to take the car the Hypertech once Duncan is back off holidays but just wondered if anyone had any suggestions? Initially thought the DV was a HKS but no markings or codes on it, car was imported and was on it when I got it, have seen a few HKS copies on ebay so think it might to one.
  24. Jimser is still on a top mount with well over 400.
  25. All sorted gave the DV a clean but vaccum hose joint had come apart. Cheer for the advice.
