Let us know how it goes.. good luck on the fix!
-
It was about 18months ago i did it. I connected it into the ignition barrel to a connection that comes live on the click before full ignition, where everything is on the next turn starts car. Meant if you left the key in that position, the pump was pumping without the engine going, where as it normally just primes the pressure then stops till the engine starts.. No big deal as the fuel just goes in a loop i believe in that instance. Once started, the key returns the that position and the pump is always pumping anyway so no difference. Im struggling to remember exact details as too what i did as so long ago. Its quite easy to do if ok working with the electrics.

I ran my P1 with a direct feed to the pump with no probs after the pump circuit on the alarm imobiliser had burned out. Was told it was quite common when tuned/larger pump running. Simptoms were car cut twice and wouldnt restart but was ok the next day (contact cooling) both times. Finally totally failed so was easier to diagnose. Imobiliser still worked also, guessed must have a 2nd circuit to imobilise the ignition...

The p1 was a good car until big end failure put me off scoobs for life. I'v never known any other make of car to suffer catastrophic engine failure as a design problem . So many cars. Most cars engines eventually wear with a bit of smoke.slight rattles but not the Subaru! great power though but wanted comfort now i'm a bit older. Also think the bmw 2 door with the msprt kit is nicer looking than the scoob too -

Nice car. After selling my P1 last month i got a 330ci msport auto. Best car i/v ever owned! -
I ordered a 2.5 block from them last year. In the end it took 3 months or something to arrive and that was only after i continually emailed them and threatened to get my credit card company to refund it. Stay away!!!!

Think everyone was on about keeping the original bag on as it is bigger. I fitted two and always kept the original bag on. The bag isnt the fuel filter anyways. Like folk say, if the pump is priming and running then there must be a blockage somewhere.

Yeah def get a running in base map i think. I got one from AndyF with my 2.5. It was free anyways so why not?!! Once run in put in better oil and another map and away you go

yeah number has to be on the passenger strut. Other numbers fade but the P1 number is printed! i'm No. 969!

I had that kinda problem before. Think i may have tried to give you advice at the time? I had a faulty fuel relay months ago. What gets me this time is that is was after hitting full boost for a second..then the car would start but try to run at about 100rpm? Made no difference if touched the throttle. Interesting about the alarm though.
-
Went to overtake a van the other day. Was in 4th, car came on full boost for a few seconds then died. Engine cut and i rolled to a nice stop after overtaking the van with without the engine running. Tried to restart car for approx next 30mins and it would try to start, but would run at about 100rpm for a few seconds then die. Like it was trying to fire up but as you can imagine at 100rpm the engine doesn't like it. Shaking and stuff as running too slow. Would cut after a few seconds. After waiting another 20mins i got a tow back home. Car wouldn't start at the house either. Left it till the next day and car started fine?? Runs fine the now although not tried full boost yet. Had it up to about half a bar prob. The boost when overtaking the van was recorded at 1.3bar on defis and that's what the car is mapped for. Felt like the safety cut due to overboost but that wouldn't kill the car for a day eh even forgetting that the boost wasn't high. Also felt the same as the time when my hose blew off the recirc dump v/v which also affected the car running but cant see anything obvious under the bonnet, and its running ok now? Phew long post.. anyone have any idea what could cause this? Elec problem? Something sticking open? Can the dump v/vs get over powered and stick? Starting to look at diesels on autotrader again due to car p%ssing me off again and i dont want to sell it!! Car is a P1. 2.5 block. Exhaust/filter/fmic/walbro/remap.

Anyways, he then told me my MOT was out by 6 days which was a shock. £60 fine. Car now off the road until can get it mot'd. Any good garages around clackmannanshire area? Happy to travel a bit obviously too. Garage that used to do it is now a no no. Pm's please thanks.
