dipsy Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Great morning .Nice to meet nearly everyone and put more faces to names from sidc.I was going to come to the pub but got lost should i have turned of at saline if thats the right name will be there the next time.I should of followed the ones leaving to go there but was still talking in the pit lane and talking to Kebab Nemises aswell
micra_wrc Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 dipsy, you didnt miss much, the pub wasnt serving hot food or hot drinks - the only thing available to eat were crisps [*-)] had a great time for my first time on track - was a bit tentative and unsure for the first couple of laps but got more confident after the instructer and squirrel gave me some pointers.the RA handled well and squirrel got his share of track time too (even though he did bring the car back with the brakes smoking []) it was a good turnout and the weather was perfect for the track. thanks to JohnS for organising the event I cant believe how quickly time flew past though........ and i've still got a silly grin on my face LoL
Dougie C Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 Was another great day sorry I didnt see you Iain, but spoke Kevin was nice meeting you and everyone else. Thanks to everyone that made my mate Stuart and his son Sean welcome just a pity they didnt get any laps [] I should have let them have my pax laps. Kevin you just turn left as you come out from the junction from Knockhill and follow the road until you come to the place where the pub was forgot the name of it just now. You missed the banter from us guys but the guy was a bit of a pl*nker and disappeared a few times when there was still people to be served. Will get photos up if they turn out ok. Dougie C

exvaux Posted May 26, 2007 Posted May 26, 2007 looks good but what kinda car is that your drivin fee?
arch Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Just emptied enough gravel for a water feature out of my undertray after a bit of a spin at clarks, sounded really bad when it was being pulled out but just had the car on the ramps and all looking sweet. Polished out one scratch so survived unscathed, apart from under wear obviously. Sorry I didnt get to meet many people this morning didnt really know who anyone was and I was down the bottom end most of the morning. Good fun though except for the spin. Big thanks to John S for organising the event [Y]

johns Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Glad you all enjoyed the day - it was nice that it stayed completely dry for a change, but it was still a bit chilly this morning. I had to clear frost off my car just after 5am! Even managed to get out on track myself for a reasonable amount of time, getting 4 sessions and about 35 laps in total. Managed to get a few photos as well, but most didn't turn out that great. I'll upload a few of the better ones when I'm back to work on Tuesday. Just a reminder, that our next event is on the 28th July from 9am to 12, and there are only a handful of slots remaining, and there are several of the time attack competitors booked up as well, so expect some very fast cars on track [] John
st3ph3n Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 What a day. Somedays I forget why I have my car when I trudge to and from the train station, then I go to Knockhill and suddenly it's all bloody clear. The Ginger 290 was running fantastic. I was getting passed by the big boys, but through the corners she's so damn neutral. The petrolheads I took out both commented about how nicely balanced the car was, and with the new found power it fair rockets down the straights against most cars. Took me a few sessions to get up to speed as I was running more power and an untried brake setup, but once I was running I was grinning like a nutter. Nicola enjoyed it loads too. Thanks to Peter for taking her out for a few laps. I know my mate Paul in the red westfield megablade had a gread day except for the exhuast coming apart. He'll definitely be back for the next one. My mate Mike in the Z4 also had a good day for his first time out. The Beemer goes alright for a hairdressers car. My only personal downside was my video equipment failing again. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

Next time the dude in the hairdressers car has a STI RA up his ass for a full lap, tell him to move over as it was not fun having to lift evrey couple of feet to stop me rear ending him. I had him for traction out of every corner and had him for power on every straight but still he held his line in true BMW drivers style. Great day none the less
fai17 Posted May 27, 2007 Posted May 27, 2007 Yes John...thank you for another well organise event and loved every minute of it. I'm glad all the pas lap was enjoyed by the folks. Roll on next one.
